CHAPTER 865: CHAPTER 865: FRANKLIN FAULKNER’S DISCIPLE ELARA

After some thought, Eleanor Sterling asked again, "Franklin Faulkner was captured too easily. Could he have a backup plan?"

"I have everything arranged. Eleanor, you don’t need to worry," Alaric Faulkner replied with a mysterious smile.

Eleanor punched him lightly, "What exactly is it? Just tell me."

Why was he still keeping secrets from her?

Looking at Eleanor’s small face, Alaric smiled and said, "You’ll know in due time. If you truly can’t sleep, we could do something meaningful."

Just as Eleanor was about to refuse, she was suddenly kissed.

He physically showed her what "something meaningful" meant.

Eleanor struggled a bit, but eventually gave in, letting him have his way.

As night fell, everything was silent.

The Faulkner Family seemed to be enveloped in slumber, while in the secret private prison behind the mansion, Franklin Faulkner sat in despondence.

He had already had blood drawn once by Alaric’s men, and now looked somewhat pale and haggard.

Looking at the sky outside, Franklin slowly curved his lips into a smile. He had fallen into Alaric’s hands, but he had not been completely defeated.

Luckily, he had a backup plan, and now it was just a matter of time.

As time ticked by, the guards at the door started to change shifts, and a bright glimmer appeared in Franklin’s eyes, staring unblinkingly at the scene outside.

With several heavy thuds, Franklin’s smile grew deeper.

The dungeon door opened, and a small figure walked in — a small girl, about eight or nine years old!

Her face was indifferent as she entered, glancing around to assess her surroundings, and when she saw there was no danger, she spoke up, "Master, your disciple is late."

"Good girl, Elara. Fortunately, I didn’t reveal your identity and whereabouts; otherwise, it would have been a disaster. Hurry and open the door, let me out."

Elara stepped forward and fiddled with the lock, and moments later, she had it open. Seeing this, Franklin’s excitement mounted.

He couldn’t help but praise, "Good girl, Elara!"

Eager to make his way outside, Franklin hurried with Elara following him closely. She looked at Franklin with icy eyes, a hint of gloom that belied her age in her gaze.

Unaware of the impending danger, Franklin took two steps before suddenly collapsing to the ground.

He looked back in horror and shouted, "Did you drug me?"

Elara stepped forward, looking coldly at Franklin kneeling on the ground, and calmly said, "Master, it’s time to settle the score between us."

Upon hearing this, Franklin’s pupils contracted, and an inexplicable fear arose in his heart.

"You...you can’t possibly remember!"

Elara smirked coldly, "I don’t remember much, only a few remaining pieces. I investigated everything else myself."

Seeing the young girl with a demeanor far colder than her age should allow, Franklin deeply regretted not killing her back then!

Elara was the daughter of the Quincy Family’s elder. When Franklin infiltrated the Quincy Family to steal the rare poison Scarlet Prelude, he was discovered by the elder and killed him.

Unexpectedly, the elder’s daughter, then only five years old, Elara, witnessed it. Franklin wanted to wipe out all witnesses, but his actions had already drawn attention.

Desperate to escape, he had to take Elara with him.

Later, seeing how young and forgetful she appeared, he raised her alongside him, as his own disciple.

Elara lived up to expectations with her exceptional martial skills and an extraordinary talent for poisons, much to Franklin’s delight.
