Twins Reunite: Bringing Mom and Dad Together!
Chapter 878: If All Else Fails, I’ll Use Myself as Bait
CHAPTER 878: CHAPTER 878: IF ALL ELSE FAILS, I’LL USE MYSELF AS BAIT
"I didn’t expect us to be back here again. Stepping in once more, I feel a bit different," Eleanor Sterling sighed, looking around the surroundings.
Alaric Faulkner chuckled softly, holding Eleanor’s hand, "Once we’ve taken care of business, I’ll take you around K Country for some fun."
Eleanor couldn’t help but huff, "We’re not here for a vacation. Giselle Keating somehow escaped; I’d bet she’ll cause more trouble."
"Yes, I’ll definitely work hard to increase our manpower and bring her back. If it comes to it, I’ll use myself as bait."
Eleanor’s expression immediately darkened, "No way!"
She huffed inwardly; Alaric must be dreaming, thinking she’d let him do something so risky. He was marked as her man, after all.
"Let’s go. We should head to the Keating Family and find out what’s really going on."
The two of them got into the car together.
The Keating Family, living room.
Except for Ronan Keating, a few brothers and Tristan Keating were already waiting in the living room for Eleanor, showing how much they valued her.
When Eleanor entered, her expression was calm, showing no fluctuations, nor was there much enthusiasm of a familial reunion.
After some polite exchanges, they each took a seat on the sofa.
Estelle Sterling and Caleb Faulkner weren’t shy at all; upon seeing Tristan Keating, they immediately called out, "Grandpa," which softened the heart of the typically stoic man.
"Good kids."
Tristan Keating had previously seen the two children briefly at Alaric and Giselle’s wedding.
Who would have thought they’d meet again under such circumstances?
As they needed to discuss matters, the two children being there was inconvenient, so Tristan had someone take them to rest. The children obediently left.
Alaric sat beside Eleanor, looking at Tristan, and asked, "How did Giselle escape?"
Xavier Keating answered on his behalf, "The surveillance cameras were destroyed, but all the evidence indicates someone rescued her. As for who that person is, we don’t know."
Alaric and Eleanor both fell silent.
Since Franklin Faulkner was already detained by them, it couldn’t have been him, leaving them clueless about the person’s identity.
Realizing there was still someone lurking in the shadows, Eleanor felt a wave of anxiety, unable to find a moment’s peace.
Tristan looked at Eleanor and gently said, "You should stay here for now. I’ll increase the security."
Eleanor sighed helplessly; under the current circumstances, it seemed that was their only option.
Returning to the room, Eleanor looked at Alaric and asked, "Who do you think rescued Giselle?"
"I don’t know," Alaric shook his head.
The enemy in the shadows was too hard to guess. The only thing they could ascertain was that the person wasn’t an ally but an enemy.
Eleanor sighed helplessly, standing up, "I’m going to check on Mandy."
After all, she was her mother, and part of the reason Eleanor came to the Keating Family was because of her.
Her treatment had been delayed for quite some time, and Eleanor was now focusing on it again.
In the room, Mandy was still lying quietly, being well cared for, looking as if she were just sleeping.
After Eleanor came in, she carefully examined her and then breathed a sigh of relief, "She’s better than when I last saw her. The acupuncture treatment I left has worked."
Alaric glanced at Mandy, "Can she wake up?"
"It’s uncertain. After all, she’s been comatose for so many years," Eleanor sighed, shaking her head.
She wasn’t a deity capable of magic that could instantly wake Mandy.
