Chapter 899: No One in the Study
CHAPTER 899: CHAPTER 899: NO ONE IN THE STUDY
Xavier Keating’s eyes immediately darkened.
He raised the phone in his hand high, preventing Wendy Carson from grabbing it. Wendy lunged over and instantly fell into his arms.
Xavier took the opportunity to hold her, looking at Wendy with a determined gaze, "Wendy, you wouldn’t leave my side when I was drugged, rushed over as soon as you heard news about me, and even set our photo as your wallpaper..."
He paused and said, "You still can’t forget me. Your marriage to Carter Sharp is just a spiteful act, isn’t it? Could you not marry him?"
Wendy’s inner secrets were laid bare before Xavier, making her feel utterly embarrassed.
Her eyes turned red, and her body trembled slightly.
Yes, she still had feelings for Xavier. She married Carter Sharp to spite him, but with so many issues between them, could they really go back to the past?
Before Wendy could speak, there was a commotion outside.
Shocked, Wendy tried to pull away from Xavier’s embrace, but Xavier held her tightly, whispering by her ear, "Don’t move, otherwise they might hear us."
Wendy immediately dared not move again.
Outside, Eleanor Sterling and Alaric Faulkner arrived together, discovering that besides them, there were others also coming to catch someone in the act.
The two groups bumped into each other instantly, staring at one another in surprise.
Eleanor looked at Wendy Warren leading the group over, raised an eyebrow, and said, "And you are?"
Wendy Warren had heard that Wendy Carson and Xavier Keating were locked in the study, and wasn’t sure what they were doing.
Feeling a sense of crisis, she brought people over, wanting to expose Wendy Carson’s true colors.
She held her phone up, recording, not expecting to encounter Eleanor Sterling and Alaric Faulkner at the door.
Momentarily stunned, she quickly regained her composure.
Eleanor’s presence was even better, as it meant an additional witness. Wendy Warren sneered, "I’m here to catch someone red-handed! I heard Wendy Carson went to see Xavier."
Hearing this, Eleanor’s eyes filled with a touch of sarcasm.
Though Wendy Warren was the mother of Xavier Keating’s daughter, she seemed overly self-assured.
Not to mention, whether Chloe was truly Xavier’s child was still uncertain.
Wendy Warren didn’t plan on saying much to Eleanor. She commanded her people, "Hurry and open the door! Once I catch that shameless Wendy Carson seducing another woman’s man before her marriage, I’ll make the video public!"
Eleanor’s face instantly darkened.
Alaric Faulkner held her silently, advising her not to act rashly, but to wait for the right moment.
With Alaric’s reassurance, Eleanor’s anger subsided considerably. She regained her composure, watching Wendy Warren’s people break down the door.
Bang, the study door was broken open.
A group of people surged in.
"You shameless woman, you..." Wendy Warren’s voice caught in her throat, unable to come out.
Because the study was empty, Xavier Keating was nowhere to be seen, nor was Wendy Carson!
With a clear view of the room, there was nowhere to hide.
Wendy Warren’s expression changed several times, "How...how could this be? Where did they go?"
Eleanor sneered, looking at her mockingly, "Miss Warren, did you misunderstand something? It seems my brother isn’t in the study."
Wendy Warren shook her head, "Impossible!"
The woman clearly said Wendy Carson and Xavier Keating were locked in the room, with Wendy Carson seducing Xavier.
Where did it all go wrong?
