We got up at our own pace but still managed to catch my sister and Nikki on their way out, wishing them both a good day while the warm waffles smiled at us. Sadly for the waffles, their smiles were wiped off their toasty faces soonly after as they were just too delicious for their own good. Attacked and completely devoured by a hungry cat girl and her just as hungry human girlfriend. It was a bad time to be a waffle in this household, but at least they died being what they truly are, divinely exquisite. So in summary, gone but not forgotten.

After our waffle purge we spent some time hanging out with our two lovely cats who had just been fed earlier too. They were asking for attention which we were both more than willing to give before we made our way to the shower to get ready for our day out.

“What clothes should I pick for today?” I asked while I was standing next to my small dresser.

“Hmm, maybe something somewhat sportsy? I was kind of thinking about renting two of those sharebikes and just stroll around the city with them. How does that sound?”

“Oh! I quite like that idea!” I replied. “I have never used them before. Is that doable with your leg?”

“Of course, I’ve ridden those bikes multiple times using it.” Sam smiled. “It’s strong enough to play basketball with. This thing can deal with a heck of a lot more as long as it’s well-maintained.” Sam tapped her leg with her hand. “Maybe not explosions though.”

“I’ll try to keep you away from C4 then.”

“Thank you, you never know when some random C4 shows up.” Sam nodded, rolling along with my, in my opinion, rather unfunny joke.

I continued dressing myself with a hoodie and a skintight pants and then waited for Sam to finish dressing herself as well. In the meantime I send a message to Max and Carol, asking how they are doing while also sending one to Hailey to tell her Sam and I weren’t going to come to uni.

Hailey was first to respond with slight concern but when I texted her we were fine that quickly turned into a ‘we’ll tell you when we see each other again’ kind of situation. As for Carol and Max, they responded some time later, telling us that they were heading to uni but that they completely understood why we weren’t. I did ask both of them to not really tell Hailey yet about what happened, at least not about the dying part, as that would definitely freak her out a bit too much. I’d rather have her hear it out of my own mouth, if we even decided that it would be in her interest to let her know in the first place. I think our situation should be handled with more care than anything else, before we accidentally push our friends into despair.

Sam hugged me from behind as I was slightly lost in thought about the messages I’d sent. “Are you ready to go, Ami?”

I grabbed her arms against my belly and hummed appreciatively. “Mhmm. Yeah, I am.”

“What were you thinking about? Thinking about getting some little kittens of our own?” She whispered into my ear, seductively.

“S-Sam, W-wha-” My ears perked up and my cheeks flushed incredibly warm.

“I’m sorry, that was a bit mean.” She chuckled. “But that makes me think about something though.” Sam released me and walked towards the door, spinning towards me as she waited for me to walk past her.

I walked past her, feeling her intent yet comfortable gaze on my body the entire time. “Which is?” I asked suspiciously.

“You’ve not really been into heat, right?”

“Don’t think I have, no.” I shrugged. “Is there something you want to talk about? With the heat comment and all?”

“Nah… Well… maybe…” Sam smiled. “I was just curious. I know you are ace, but I wonder what effect that would have on you.”

“Hmmm.” I scratched my cheek. “I’d rather not find out, I think. What about you, would you like me to be more open with my body like that, to you?”

Sam hummed to herself for a couple of seconds before she replied. “Well, you know I’m not asexual, so I wouldn’t exactly mind, but, and it’s a rather big but…”

“Being?”

“I’d like you to be comfortable with it afterwards as well.” Sam replied. “Maybe we should set some ground rules about that.”

“Now? After what just happened on Haurchefaud?”

Sam shrugged. “I don’t see why not, it’s helping us think about something else, no? Besides, I’d rather know just in case it happens before we get the next opportunity to talk about it.”

“Hmmm. I suppose.” As we were just hanging around in the hallway both Mocchi and Pocky  got curious to what we were doing and came to investigate by running around our legs and playing with each other. “Hehe, you little rascals.” I bent down and rubbed Pocky on her chest as she rolled on her back to play with my hand. Sam did the same but with her mother. “What kind of ground rules were you thinking about?”

“For example, in the hypothetical situation where you are in heat and you are asking for some… hmmmhhhmmm.” She coughed. “Relief… would you like me to give it to you then, or should I hold you off from acting on your urges?”

I stared at Sam for a couple of seconds, processing her question. It’s true that I didn’t really know how bad those urges would get. “That’s… a really difficult question.”

“Do not take me into consideration for your answer at all, okay? I want to make that clear. I want to have you decide completely autonomously on what you want to happen with your body.”

“And if I were to ask your opinion?”

Sam shrugged. “For me it doesn’t matter either way. I just want to know what you want. I love you for who you are as a person, not for your body. You are obviously incredibly beautiful and extremely hot too, especially without clothes on, but you know, that’s beside the point.”

I chuckled at Sam’s heavy laid on compliments. “Thank you for sharing.”

“No problem.” Sam smiled back.

I cupped my face in my right hand as I thought about this hypothetical situation for a little bit longer. Pocky and Mocchi were now both rolling on the floor gently slapping each other while I was doing so. “I think that… if it were you… and I really needed release… I think I wouldn’t mind. I don’t really know how heavy the heat hits when it does… It might be painful not to act on it at least in a way…”

“Maybe we should agree on a codeword, so I know 100% for sure that you want it?”

“Oh, I like that idea.” I nodded.

“That gives you more time to think it over, right?”

I nodded once more. “Maybe something food related? Food that I absolutely don’t like so I don’t accidentally say it?”

“Hmmm… Maybe.” Sam stood up from her crouched down position and offered her hand to pull me up. “What about marmite? That sounds like something which you would not like.”

“Is that that black gooey stuff?”

Sam nodded. “It’s very salty, somewhat tastes like concentrated soy sauce. Have you ever had it?”

Some dark childhood memory came back to me as shivers were sent through my spine, I felt the hair on my ears and tail stand up straight at the thought.

“I take that as a yes.” Sam laughed.

“Yeah… maybe let’s go for marmite as a code-word. I don’t think there’s a chance in hell I’d ever want to eat that stuff voluntarily again.

“Alright, then that’s agreed. I’ll wait for you to ask me for a marmite filled sandwich before I act on your urges, that way I know you’ve had the mental capacity to think back to this conversation.” Sam then offered her hand to me.

I shook it in return. It felt somewhat like a business meeting. “Do we want to put this down in writing, dear colleague?”

Sam chuckled. “I’ll put it on our shared TwoPad file.” She then took out a phone after which I got a notification I’d been invited to a joined file.

“Haha, we are such weirdos.”

“Better two prepared weirdos than two unprepared normies.” Sam grinned as she put away her phone again. She then offered her hand once more. “Time to go outside now?”

“Yes, let’s.” I took her hand once again and pulled myself closer to give her a kiss on her cheek.

We both said goodbye to our cats and then made our way out of the apartment on the look for some sharebikes in the neighbourhood. Let’s just hope I still knew how to ride a bicycle, it had been a while and I hadn’t done so before with a tail either. Couldn’t possibly be that hard, right?
