CHAPTER 36: LONELINESS

But Tyler didn’t even move.

In front of those villagers, monsters were attacked from behind. They couldn’t see who was attacking those monsters.

Of course, two Fourth Rank Monsters were still walking in front of him.

Seeing this, Tyler took a deep breath, gathering a large amount of Aura into his throat.

When those two monsters sensed it, they immediately released their attacks.

One of them condensed two large boulders the size of twenty meters tall and fifteen meters wide.

It launched both of those boulders towards, while the other released a stream of wind that slowly turned into a hurricane, blowing the boulders.

[First Skill Modified- Majestic Fire Dragon]

Tyler spat out the flame, turning it into a large dragon. It was almost fifty meters long with a ten-meter-thick body.

The fire dragon collided against the boulder, but it didn’t break. Instead, the tail of the fire dragon caught another boulder, pulling it closer to the first one.

The hurricane attempted to extinguish the fire, but its intensity was instead amplified by the cyclone, becoming even more intense.

Then, a single fire dragon coiled two large boulders, burning them into molten lava as they fell over those houses.

Fortunately, every single villager was already behind him.

With his attack defused, Tyler stopped using long-range attacks; instead, he activated his second and fourth skills together.

[Second Skill- Enhanced Strength]

[Fourth Skill- Lightning Cloak]

With these skills activated, his body dashed forward, leaving behind sparkling lightning bolts.

He instantly approached two of those monsters and started throwing hands. His first attack landed on the monster’s face, deforming it.

He continued it with a kick to the monster’s chest, throwing it towards the sky.

At this moment, the other monster had finally sensed his attack and countered with its own.

But the monster’s attack was quite surprising. In such a close range, it released a large amount of rocks around Tyler, covering him in a rock coffin.

Bang! Bang!

With two punches on the coffin, he managed to break out of it, and without much thought, he raised his leg, kicking it on the chin.

Both of them were wolf-type monsters. But while this monster was only five feet tall, the other one was at least fifteen meters tall.

The difference in their heights made it harder to attack them at their position.

But Tyler quickly saw the previous monster falling towards the ground and dashed towards it.

Because the monster was still on the ground, he jumped and rained down a bolt of lightning through his fist as he clashed against the monster.

Bang!

The lightning bolt, followed by the power of his fist, carried so much strength that it broke the bones of the monster.

"Aoooo!"

The monster started screaming in pain, but Tyler wasn’t just going to let it rest.

Unfortunately, before he could finish them, he was attacked by the other monster.

The monster tried to jump on him and bite his head off, but Tyler lowered his stance and punched forward with all of his strength.

Bang!

His punch landed on the face of that guy, sending him flying across the village.

He didn’t waste his time.

Instead, he opened his fist, gathering a large amount of lightning on his fingers as he pierced through the chest of the monster.

As soon as he finished this monster, he quickly chased after the other one. It was still flying in mid-air, but it was more cautious.

When it saw Tyler chasing, it tried using its ability to block Tyler’s route, dropping more and more stones on his path.

Unfortunately for it, Tyler managed to dodge every single one of them using his superior speed and quickly caught up to it.

[Lightning Cutter]

The moment that monster got down, he pierced his heart with his hand, killing the monster with a single blow.

Splash!

As the monster fell, so did Tyler.

"Haaa! Haaa! Haaa!"

He was left panting on the ground, trying to gather every bit of stamina he could.

"Still not....enough!"

He exhaled loudly and fell on his butt.

"That was too hard. Using two skills to their maximum power, and one of them happened to go beyond Fourth Rank."

"Still, though, I was able to kill two Mountain Level with relative ease thanks to my arsenal of skills. I didn’t even need to utilize Shadow Manipulation."

He muttered as he slowly got up. He walked towards the horde of monsters that were overwhelming his group.

After all, they were all Second Rank, and this group had four Third Rank monsters.

It was a good thing these monsters were shaken up by his powers; otherwise, they would’ve killed his team by now.

That’s also why he was in such a hurry to end these two monsters.

"I wonder how big my gap is with that monster. Could I’ve killed with my current strength?"

He mumbled, thinking about that Mountain Level Monster who was about to enter Country Level.

Just thinking about it gave him shivers.

"No, it wouldn’t be enough. But that’s okay. The stronger it becomes, the harder I will work to catch up."

"Yes, I will absolutely catch up."

He clenched his fists as he made up his mind to reach Fifth Rank faster than that monster.

Although he wasn’t sure how he was going to keep track of its progress.

When he realized he was keeping a monster as his rival, he paused, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.

"Am I so lonely that I can only consider a monster my rival?"

He didn’t want to cry, but as he remembered his family and friends from Earth, he felt sorrowful.

Although this planet was also called Earth, it didn’t have his family or friends.

He was all alone and sometimes, that truly bothered him.

He couldn’t get a friend because he was afraid that they would take advantage of his friendship for their own benefit and kill him.

Back on Earth, even if someone did take advantage of him, at most, he would lose some of his money.

Here, he would lose his life.

Because of that same fear, he hadn’t gotten a single friend. The only people who were close to him were Rose and Alena.

He saw Alena as a girl who had a crush on him and Rose as his sister.

It was hard for him to consider them his friend, much less a rival.

"What am I even thinking? Isn’t it simply because I am afraid?"

He muttered it out loud.

"Anyway, forget this shit! I still have people I care about. I don’t want to lose them because of my distracting thoughts."

Saying so, he gathered his strength and ran towards the horde of those monsters.

At this moment, Liam, Jacob, John, and Rose were truly pushed beyond their limits.

All of them had wounds all over their bodies, and Liam was lying on the ground, unable to fight.

He was being protected by John, but this was putting too much pressure on him.

He took a deep breath and muttered.

"Let’s end this shit!"

[Second Skill- Enhanced Strength]

[Explosion Steps]

As he activated his skill, he channeled the power of his Aura into his legs, kicking the ground at an incredible speed, launching himself in front of his people.

As soon as he arrived there, he gathered a large amount of strength in his fist and punched the ground.

Bang! CRack!

The ground split open, and he grabbed that part, lifting it as he threw several of the monsters into the air.

[First Skill- Fire Dragon Roar]

Releasing a powerful stream of fire from his mouth, he burned every single monster that was raised by him.

Then, he dropped the piece of the ground and turned his attention towards the remaining monsters.

But only six monsters remained.

[Shadow Manipulation]

[Second Skill- Shadow Vines]

He extended his shadow, turning into the threads that captured those monsters in an instant.

Clack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!

Before they could even react, he used his shadow to tear them apart limb from limb, and finally, he twisted their heads and threw them to the ground.

"Done!"

"What do you think?"

He turned around and asked with a big smile on his face.

But Rose was focused on healing Liam while John and Jacob were resting, trying to take heavy breaths as they recovered their stamina.

"It’s such a hassle that I can’t even show off because of your utmost trust in me."

He grumbled and whispered in a low voice.

"No wonder it’s so hard for me to get friends."

Fortunately, nobody heard him; otherwise, he would’ve been embarrassed to death.

After all, the reason why he didn’t have friends was simply because he considered it a risky move.

In a world where he knew no one, there was no one he could trust.

Sometimes he even wondered if he had watched too many spy movies in his previous life.

Even spies wouldn’t be this careful.

’Maybe I should create clones and send them to other countries as spies.’

’Hmm! Shadow Clone maybe?’
