The car rolled to a stop outside Golden Apartment. Dawn was just breaking in Kedora, painting the sky a fiery red and lighting up the whole place.

Phoebe cracked her eyes open and mumbled to Edward, "Thanks for the ride. I'm heading up."

Just as she was about to step out, Edward grabbed her wrist, his eyes glued to her face. "Phoebe, can I see you again?"

Phoebe sighed, "I'm beat. I'm going up."

Edward bit his lip. After a beat, he let go of her wrist and said softly, "Go rest. Don't stress. It'll all blow over."
