Damien paused for a moment, looking up at Ivy Summers, who lay beneath him like a frightened little animal, staring at him in fear and panic.

Damien’s jaw tightened slightly as he finally regained some composure, looking at her, "Ivy Summers, I’ll tell you again, don’t even think about divorce."

"Then I’ll tell you again too, don’t think about making me submit."

Damien found it somewhat amusing, snorting with a laugh, "Alright, then let’s see, Ivy Summers, I admire your courage."

Damien stood up straight, saying, "I’ll order you another dinner. If you knock it over again, then don’t eat tonight. You’re spoiled."

Ivy Summers looked up; the man had once again suppressed his anger and left without turning back.

Ivy Summers rubbed her lips forcefully, almost wishing she could peel the skin off them.

Silently she repeated to herself.

Outside, watching his brother storm off again in anger, Zachary Lancaster thought of their father’s words, "There will be a time when he cries."
