Unexpected Love: The Chief Auctioneer's Decision
Chapter 190: Ivy Summers Agrees to a Kinship Test
CHAPTER 190: CHAPTER 190: IVY SUMMERS AGREES TO A KINSHIP TEST
Ivy Summers has an auction tonight and is busy preparing for it.
At the entrance of the auction house, Rachel Shaw stepped down from the car, took off her sunglasses, and glanced forward with disdain in her eyes.
Being Mrs. Lancaster made her life different from before, even Keith Chambers knew she was coming and personally came out to greet her.
"Mrs. Lancaster, do you have a consignment? Why did you come in person?"
"Tell Zinnia to get out here and see me!"
Hearing her tone, Keith Chambers’ expression changed.
This doesn’t bode well!
"Rachel!" Nina Summers quickly came out from inside, taking Rachel Shaw’s arm, "Rachel, come inside and sit down first."
Rachel was filled with anger, having no mood to sit.
"Why sit? I’m here to find Zinnia."
Nina had a mischievous smile on her face, "I know, come with me first."
Nina mysteriously pulled Rachel into her office, closed the door, and attentively poured Rachel a cup of tea, saying, "Rachel, why do you want to see Zinnia now?"
"She dared to seduce my man, I want to tear off her mask and let everyone see her ugly face beneath, so that wretch can recognize herself."
"That’s exactly right." Nina sat down beside Rachel, "Since that’s the case, you shouldn’t rush."
"What do you mean? Do I need to pick a time to tear her apart?"
"There’s an auction for Zinnia tonight."
Rachel raised an eyebrow, signaling Nina to continue.
Nina wore an excited wicked smile.
"Instead of tearing off her mask now, why not invite President Lancaster to the auction and let that ugly monster reveal her true form in front of everyone, so President Lancaster can see clearly and she will know your power."
After hearing that, Rachel chuckled softly, "Didn’t expect you to have a brain like this."
Nina smiled modestly, "Rachel, you’re too kind."
Rachel sneered, "If you used this brain of yours against Ivy Summers, you wouldn’t have almost ended up marrying an old man, right?"
At the mention of this, Nina gritted her teeth.
All because of Ivy Summers!
"Anyway, both those people are equally annoying. Rachel, you shouldn’t let either one get away."
"Of course, those two bitches even have similar names, both deserve to die. Once I deal with this little wretch, I’ll handle Ivy Summers."
Rachel squinted her eyes at Nina, "Since this plan is yours, you’ll carry it out."
Rachel was about to become Mrs. Lancaster, so Nina was eager to curry favor, agreeing without hesitation.
"Rest assured, Rachel, I’ll make sure this is handled well."
"If it’s done well, I’ll have my dad take care of your Summers Family’s business more."
Hearing this, Nina became even more eager to please Rachel, as if currying favor with a queen.
Rachel donned her sunglasses and stood up, "I’ll bring Damien over, don’t let me down."
"Rest assured."
...
Ivy Summers was busy today, having just confirmed the auction items in the warehouse before returning to the office.
As she was about to take out her phone from her bag, the business card Tristan Sterling gave her last night fell out with it.
Ivy sat down, her eyes deepening.
After a moment of contemplation, she dialed the number on the card.
Perhaps Old Master Sterling was right, a genetic testing wouldn’t cost much.
Not doing it would become Old Master Sterling’s emotional burden.
The call went through quickly.
The man’s deep voice asked, "Have you made up your mind?"
"Yes."
"Alright, I’ll send someone over now."
Ivy glanced at the time, "Tomorrow, I’m a bit busy today."
"No, it must be today. Give me your address, and I’ll send someone now."
"I’m really busy today."
"It won’t delay you, my grandpa can’t eat or sleep over this matter, please understand."
Ivy sighed lightly, she didn’t believe her mother was the Sterling Family’s long-lost daughter, so she wasn’t in a hurry.
But Old Master Sterling, who cared deeply about the issue, was nearly driven mad.
Ivy understood and gave the address.
Twenty minutes later, Tristan Sterling personally brought two doctors over.
Ivy was quite surprised; it usually takes more than twenty minutes to get from the Sterling Family to here.
Can this man fly?
The doctors took blood samples from Ivy.
Tristan sat quietly on a chair nearby, watching. After the doctors finished, he said calmly, "If your mother turns out to actually be my aunt, that would make you my cousin?"
Ivy clenched her fists, "The likelihood is very small."
"Why are you so sure?"
"My mother looks nothing like the First Young Miss Sterling."
Two different faces — how could they be the same person?
Ivy agreed to the genetic testing to avoid Old Master Sterling being perpetually troubled by the matter.
Tristan smiled, without denying it.
"If she isn’t, can I pursue you then?"
The sudden change of topic made Ivy look up at him in surprise.
Tristan’s voice was calm, "Is it that surprising?"
"What does Young Master Sterling see in me?"
Tristan stood up, the outline of the woman’s beautiful face was faintly visible beneath her mask, "Beautiful, smart, interesting."
Ivy shook her head with a laugh, "There are many beautiful, smart, and interesting girls. Young Master Sterling might find me boring if he looks around."
"No, you’re different."
Tristan gazed at Ivy; compared to those three superficial adjectives, he felt Ivy was like an unsheathed sword, sharp yet restrained. There was a fierceness about her, but she retained a sense of goodness, her gaze always distant as if no one could reach her heart.
This kind of woman carries a challenge, igniting a man’s desire to conquer.
Ivy Summers tidied up the desk, "Young Master Sterling, we might still be cousins, so please put away your thoughts."
Tristan Sterling chuckled lightly, "Didn’t you just say the probability is very small?"
"Small doesn’t mean there’s no probability, does it?"
"A fickle woman. I heard my intention to pursue you has increased the odds."
Ivy Summers finished tidying the desk, "Alright, I’ve accompanied you for the sample collection, now I need to get busy, Young Master Sterling, please close the door on your way out."
Ivy Summers left with the documents.
She was really busy today, no time to chat with the young master here.
Tristan Sterling stood in the empty office, looking back at the direction Ivy Summers left.
Does this woman have no heart?
He just said he wanted to pursue her, yet she kept tidying the desk by herself, and left when she was done?
...
Lancaster Family.
Damien Lancaster glanced downstairs from the second floor, seeing Zachary Lancaster sitting downstairs looking at his phone, Damien spoke up, "Zachary, come upstairs."
Zachary followed into Damien Lancaster’s room.
"What are you doing?"
As soon as Damien went in, he took off the shirt he was wearing without a word, revealing his sturdy upper body.
Zachary’s eyes widened, "Bro, what are you doing?"
Damien put on another shirt, slipped on a tailored suit jacket, and turned around, "How is it?"
Zachary stared, "You called me to check out your clothes?"
Damien raised an eyebrow, "What did you think?"
Zachary’s gaze swept over the entire row of bespoke suits, "What are you up to? A blind date? Falling in love?"
It’s said that only men in love care about their appearance.
"There’s an auction tonight."
"An auction is worth all this attention?"
"Ivy Summers will be there."
Zachary instantly understood, "You’re planning to seduce her?"
Damien pressed his lips together and didn’t speak.
Zachary circled Damien, "Smart move, using seduction."
Damien was born to wear clothes like a model, with broad shoulders, long legs, and a noble aura, wearing anything could outshine everyone else.
Except Ivy Summers.
Zachary scratched his chin, eyeing Damien, "Bro, should I get a stylist for you, to spruce you up a bit, I assure you it would change her heart."
"Too flashy."
Finding no useful advice from Zachary, Damien ended up choosing a black suit himself.
Though, the tie, lapel pin, and cufflinks were all carefully selected, even the leather shoes, he matched repeatedly before going out.
Zachary felt if he was any more refined, he’d need to apply an extra layer of face powder.
Not saying it’s for an auction, you’d think he’s going on a date.
Just as Damien stepped out, Rachel Shaw’s call came in.
"Damien, it’s me."
Damien’s voice was low and deep, "What is it?"
"Damien, there’s an auction tonight, I’d like you to accompany me, would you?"
Damien, "Not interested."
With that, Damien hung up the call, Rachel Shaw didn’t even get to say another word.
Rachel Shaw pressed her lips together, completely perplexed by Damien’s attitude towards her.
...
Afternoon.
Damien went to the school to pick up the three kids.
The three little ones who came out looked at the different-looking Damien in front of them.
Though reluctant to admit, their daddy really looked incredibly handsome today.
Sophie tilted her head, puzzled as she looked at Damien, "Daddy, why are you more handsome today?"
Damien squatted down, "Wasn’t daddy handsome before?"
"Not handsome." Leo bluntly said, not giving any face.
Damien, "..."
Nathan asked, "Did you deliberately dress up today to see mommy?"
"Yes."
Nathan, "Do you want to win mommy back?"
"Exactly."
"It’s a waste of effort, if you want to win mommy back, you have to line up first."
Damien raised an eyebrow, "Who’s in line ahead of me?"
"Uncle Noah."
Damien subtly frowned, "Why should he be ahead of me?"
Sophie tilted her head, "Because he treats mommy well, you don’t. It’s nice enough to let you line up, daddy are you being picky?"
Damien confidently said, "Your mommy will definitely be mine in the future."
Leo crossed his little arms, "Blindly confident, don’t think we don’t know about your engagement to that horrible woman, being engaged and still wanting to be with our mommy, it’s like a toad wanting to eat swan meat!"
Toad? Damien!
Damien explained, "I’ll handle that matter, and also make up for past events, I will pursue your mommy again, and start over with her."
Leo grinned, "You go sleep, you can have anything in dreams."
"..."
Biological, endure it.
