CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21: THE TRUTH—UNMASKING RACHEL SHAW’S VILE DEEDS WITH SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE

"I’m sorry, uncle."

The parents of the two children hurried over. Seeing that their children had bumped into someone, they embarrassedly apologized.

Damien Lancaster lowered his eyes, his voice indifferent, "It’s fine."

By this time, Leo and Nathan had already found Ivy Summers and Sophie.

"Mommy, Sophie!"

"Nathan, Leo?"

Oh my!

These children of hers were simply remarkable.

They had come to Aethelgard, found the Lancaster Family, and now had even followed to the hospital, as if a tracker had been placed on her.

Ivy Summers quickly took the three little ones and hid in the stairwell.

"Big brother, second brother, you guys are awesome for finding mommy and Sophie." Sophie clapped happily for her two brothers.

Ivy laughed bitterly, "Babies, didn’t mommy ask you to find a place and wait for me?"

Leo raised his little head, "Didn’t mommy mean to follow along?"

Ivy patted her forehead.

She had actually meant for them to leave.

Oh well, since they were already here.

Ivy squatted down and looked at them seriously, "Alright, babies, let’s not focus on what happened before. From now on, you must listen to mommy, or I’ll really get angry."

"Okay, okay."

"..." Ivy, "Mommy will give you an address, it’s mommy’s old home. You go there first and wait for mommy. Once I find Sophie’s mom to pick her up, we’ll meet up again."

"Alright."

Leo glanced at the test results in Ivy’s hand, "Are you and Sophie hurt? Was it mean daddy’s doing?"

"Just a small burn, nothing serious."

The two little ones were heartbroken.

In Yrador, mommy and Sophie never got hurt. But here, after being with mean daddy for less than half a day, both got hurt and came to the hospital. If it wasn’t mean daddy’s fault, whose fault was it?

"It was the mean woman’s doing. She wanted to burn Sophie, and mommy got hurt saving Sophie." Sophie said angrily.

"There’s also a mean woman!"

Mean daddy and mean woman, just you wait.

"Hurry along, babies, be careful on the road. Send mommy a message when you get there."

Ivy patted the small heads of the two little kids.

"Yes, mommy, don’t worry."

Nathan led Leo away.

Leo said, "Mean daddy and mean woman hurt mommy and Sophie, they can’t be let off."

This time Nathan agreed, "Yes, let’s go home first and discuss."

When Damien returned, Ivy was waiting with Sophie in the corridor.

Damien handed a bag of candies to Sophie, "Don’t eat too many sweets."

"You want her to eat less, yet you buy her so many?"

Ivy saw Sophie’s eyes light up.

Damien had bought a whole bag, as if he was trying to pamper her, just like last time when someone had given Sophie a whole mall’s worth of candy, causing her a toothache.

Ivy was now weary of this.

Sophie, hugging the big bag of candy, glanced at Ivy sneakily, then happily peeled open a candy and stuffed it into her mouth.

The little kid knew Ivy couldn’t stop her now and quickly ate a few more pieces.

What a bargain, a real bargain.

"Let’s go."

After getting the medicine, Damien took them back.

On the way, Ivy deliberately brought up when Sophie’s family would come to pick her up.

Sophie immediately chimed in, "Uncle, auntie, don’t worry. Sophie’s mom sent a message saying she knows I’m with uncle. She says she’ll come get me, but uncle might need to keep me for a night."

Ivy had booked a flight for Ella Morgan for the next morning.

This meant Sophie had to stay at the Lancaster Family for one night.

Damien looked up, watching the two of them in the rearview mirror.

Upon closer inspection, Sophie’s eyebrows and eyes bore a resemblance to Ivy’s.

Revisiting the doubts of the past few days, Damien grew more suspicious.

Damien acknowledged and took them back to the old house.

Rachel Shaw felt very guilty about the incident and was tearfully apologetic.

Ivy was not about to let this go and insisted on checking the surveillance footage to expose her wrongdoing.

Damien instructed someone to retrieve the footage.

Quickly, a servant brought over a tablet, and Damien handed it to Ivy.

"See for yourself."

Damien didn’t even glance at it, indicating his trust in Rachel, believing it was just an accident.

Ivy felt a chill in her heart as she took the tablet and focused on the video.

Rachel was sitting aside, wiping away tears, her tightly clenched fingers betraying her nervousness.

The video was clear. After watching the surveillance footage, Ivy placed it in front of Damien, "Didn’t you believe she was innocent? Then what is this?"
