Unexpected Love: The Chief Auctioneer's Decision
Chapter 65: Rachel Shaw Is Taken to Prison
CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: RACHEL SHAW IS TAKEN TO PRISON
The room was bustling in Rachel Shaw’s hospital room.
Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Shaw, and Seraphina Kennedy were all there.
Mrs. Shaw, Penelope Page, looked at Rachel with heartache, "When has my daughter ever suffered such grievances? That Ivy Summers has really gone too far."
Seraphina Kennedy nodded at these words, "Luckily, Damien Lancaster avenged you, Rachel. You need to rest well, understand?"
Rachel wiped her tears, full of grievances, "Mom, auntie, I really didn’t do anything. I have no quarrel with that kid, why would I harm her?"
Seraphina said, "We know, that kid is indeed troublesome. Damien was kind enough to take her in for a night, and now it seems like she’s sticking to our family like a bad luck charm, and we can’t shake her off. And that mother of hers, how dare she come to our Damien for help."
"Seraphina, I say Damien is too kind-hearted. Now we’re stuck with these poor folks, and I suspect there’s more trouble to come."
Seraphina Kennedy felt that Penelope Page made a good point.
Their family was indeed entangled as if by them.
Penelope Page looked at Rachel Shaw with heartache, "Poor my daughter, being implicated by that child. She didn’t do anything, but she has to suffer from such an undeserved disaster."
Penelope Page had just finished speaking when the door was knocked on.
Three men in police uniforms walked in.
"Hello, police."
The three policemen showed their badges.
Everyone immediately stood up.
Rachel Shaw’s face turned pale.
"You all?"
"We are here to ask Miss Rachel Shaw to come with us to assist in an investigation."
Two policemen immediately approached Rachel Shaw.
Rachel backed away repeatedly, hiding behind Penelope Page in a panic, "Assist in what investigation?"
"You are involved in a kidnapping case of a child named Sophie, please come with us for investigation."
"I didn’t do anything at all, assist in what investigation?" Rachel frantically looked at the police.
Phillip Shaw stepped forward vigorously, stopping the police, and said sternly, "Wait a minute, my daughter has nothing to do with this matter, she knows nothing. Why does she have to assist in the investigation?"
Seraphina Kennedy also said, "Exactly, what’s going on with you all, have you started arresting people randomly now?"
Seeing this, the policeman explained, "One of the two kidnappers caught last night has confessed that a woman with the last name Shaw hired them, and the boat they left on is the Shaw Family’s private vessel. Do we need to make it any clearer?"
Rachel Shaw’s lips trembled as she looked at Phillip Shaw, her eyes pleading for help.
Phillip Shaw narrowed his eyes, thinking for a moment, "Alright, since this matter involves our Shaw Family, we will naturally cooperate with the investigation. Rachel, go with them, Dad won’t let anyone wrong you."
"Phillip, how can you let them take Rachel?" Penelope Page asked anxiously.
"It’s just to assist in the investigation, what is there to be afraid of?"
Rachel shook her head while crying and was eventually taken away by the police.
Outside, when Rachel raised her head, she immediately saw Damien Lancaster standing there without saying a word.
Rachel trembled all over, raised her voice and in red-eyed explained, "Damien, Damien, you have to believe me, I didn’t do it, I didn’t harm that child, I really didn’t, I’ve been wronged, Damien, you believe me..."
Damien Lancaster’s face was dark as if it could drip ink, "I believe in the evidence I see."
Upon hearing this, Rachel Shaw’s heart sank to rock bottom.
Damien Lancaster did not believe her.
Rachel shook her head continuously, and her tears traced clear arcs in the air.
At this moment, Rachel saw Ivy Summers walking over, and she suddenly pointed the finger at Ivy, "Ivy Summers, you can’t stand me, so you’re falsely accusing me, aren’t you? You’re slandering me in front of Damien."
Ivy Summers stepped forward, only wanting to see Rachel being taken away with her own eyes, and in response to her words, Ivy said, "If you didn’t do it, no one could falsely accuse you."
Rachel’s lips trembled, "Damien, you have to believe me, you really have to."
Rachel Shaw was taken away in front of Damien Lancaster.
Damien Lancaster’s face was so dark it felt like ink could drip from it.
To be honest, he still didn’t believe Rachel did this.
She really had no reason to do so.
But if the final results prove it was indeed her, he would have no choice but to believe it.
"If the final result really is her, I will keep my word and personally send her to prison. But if someone is deliberately slandering her, I will not let that person go either."
Ivy Summers frowned.
Damien Lancaster’s words showed doubt.
Suspecting that someone was deliberately slandering Rachel Shaw.
There was an added coldness in Ivy Summers’ eyes.
Damien Lancaster truly believes in Rachel Shaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Shaw came out, glaring fiercely at Ivy Summers, as if Ivy had slandered their daughter.
Seraphina Kennedy was the same, looking at Ivy as if her eyes were not eyes, her nose not a nose, "You’re a calamity, upset everything in our family upon return, and even harmed Rachel."
Knowing that Seraphina Kennedy didn’t like her, these words stirred no waves in Ivy Summers’ heart.
Seeing Ivy Summers ignore her.
Seraphina said to Damien Lancaster, "Damien, we all believe Rachel couldn’t do such a thing, surely it’s someone purposely slandering her, Rachel is too wronged."
Too wronged?
In the face of evidence, they can still say such things.
Ivy Summers raised her eyes, asking, "If the child who almost died last night was from your Lancaster Family, would you still be willing to believe Rachel Shaw in the face of this evidence found by the police?"
