Unexpected Love: The Chief Auctioneer's Decision
Chapter 92: Ivy Returns to Yrador, Damien Agrees to Divorce
CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 92: IVY RETURNS TO YRADOR, DAMIEN AGREES TO DIVORCE
"Ivy, the Lancaster Family members have arrived."
Sophie’s hospital room is watched over by Noah Scott’s people, and as soon as Damien Lancaster steps out of the elevator, they’re alerted.
"The Lancaster Family? How many of them?"
"Four."
Oh no, that means not only Damien Lancaster is here but also Old Master Lancaster and the others.
Ivy Summers doesn’t think they’re here together to see Sophie.
Ella Morgan furrows her brow, "Do you think they’ve discovered something?"
Ivy Summers bites her lip, "I don’t know, Nathan and Leo, you two hide first, I’ll go out to handle them."
Just as Ivy Summers finishes her sentence, she’s already at the door.
Nathan and Leo hide in the bathroom.
"Ivy." Hearing Old Master’s voice, Ivy Summers turns back with a calm expression.
Glancing at the four people, Ivy Summers says, "Grandfather, did you come to see Sophie too?"
Old Master nods first, then looks at Sophie.
Ivy Summers feels something’s off with Old Master’s expression, and she nervously clenches her hands.
Old Master sits down beside Sophie, looking at her.
Sophie blinks, not sure why this old grandfather is staring at her.
Old Master sighs, "She really does resemble a bit."
"Resemble a bit? Grandfather, what are you talking about?" Ivy Summers tensely watches Old Master Lancaster, barely breathing.
Old Master turns back, "She resembles you a bit."
Ivy Summers tries hard to control her breathing, but her face still stiffens, "Grandfather, what kind of joke is that?"
"Grandpa, Sophie was born to Mommy, how could she look like the pretty auntie." Sophie touches her chubby cheeks, her expression puzzled.
Old Master just smiles and doesn’t clarify, "Grandpa is just joking with your pretty auntie."
"You can’t joke like that." Sophie pretends to be angry at Old Master, "Because if Grandpa says that, Mommy will be sad, Sophie was born to Mommy and should look like her."
Ivy Summers looks at Old Master, whose thoughts are unpredictable. It seems like he’s joking, but she knows he wouldn’t joke like this.
Old Master must have heard something, and he’s questioning Sophie’s background again.
Old Master doesn’t stay long, leaving after a while, and just as Ivy Summers turns around, she meets Damien Lancaster’s gaze.
Damien’s gaze is deep and dark, with a hint of suspicion, making Ivy Summers inexplicably anxious.
With Nathan and Leo still in the bathroom, Ivy Summers says to Damien, "I need to talk to you; come with me for a moment."
Damien follows Ivy Summers outside and looks at her again.
"What do you want to say?"
"When are you planning to sign the divorce agreement?"
Damien frowns slightly, "In such a hurry?"
"Of course, I’m about to get married."
"Married?"
Damien sneers.
"Do you really think I’d believe your lies?"
Damien isn’t a fool; he can see.
Noah Scott has feelings for Ivy Summers, but Ivy Summers doesn’t feel the same for Noah.
He also knows Ivy Summers likes a stable life, which is something Noah Scott can’t provide.
Noah Scott may seem like just a big auction house owner, but he’s far from simple.
Marry her?
Can someone like him really promise a lifetime to a woman?
Ivy Summers isn’t flustered even when he’s seen through her.
"Even if I’m not getting married, I still want a divorce from you."
"I’ve already said, I never intended to divorce."
Damien raises an eyebrow, "Do I need to repeat myself?"
Ivy Summers furrows her brow, "But I can’t go on with you."
"We haven’t continued yet, so how do you know we can’t make it?"
"Is this funny to you?"
Ivy Summers glares angrily at Damien.
She doesn’t understand; if he doesn’t love her, why not divorce?
"Whether it’s funny or not is up to me."
Ivy Summers takes a deep breath, "Even if you don’t divorce, we’ll only maintain a legal marriage, and I won’t stay here; I’m going back to Yrador."
"I haven’t allowed you to leave."
"Damien Lancaster, I’m a person; where I go is my freedom, and you have no right to interfere."
"You have the freedom to leave, but I also have the freedom to stop you, Ivy Summers. Don’t even think about going back to Yrador."
Ivy Summers looks at the man standing so close in front of her, gritting her teeth, "Damien Lancaster, you’re shameless."
"Yes, so what? There’s nothing you can do about me, Ivy Summers."
Damien bluntly tells her, sure, I’m shameless, but what can you do about it?
He lowers his gaze, noticing her tightly clenched fist, seeing the anger she’s trying hard to suppress.
After a while, he looks up again, gazing at this woman.
Ivy Summers, stubborn and spirited.
Once she decides on something, she will definitely do it; she’s a woman hard to control.
Stopping her now may cause her to run away like last time.
She ran off for five years, and Damien can’t accept that.
He can’t accept a divorce, nor can he accept her leaving.
If she must go.
Maybe it’s better if the opportunity comes from him.
"Ivy Summers, do you really want to go, really want a divorce, is that it?"
Ivy Summers doesn’t understand why he suddenly asks this.
But she immediately nods, "Yes."
"Fine."
For a moment, Ivy Summers doubts her ears.
How could he suddenly change his mind?
Just as she can’t comprehend it, Damien Lancaster seriously stares at her and speaks again.
"I can book you a ticket right now, allowing you to leave Aethelgard any way you can before the end of today, and I’ll agree to the divorce, let you go, and even if I later find out you really have kids, I’ll never bother you again. You only have this one chance, dare to try it?"
