CHAPTER 1: CHAPTER 1: BASTARD CHILD

"First time?"

The man’s breath was scorching, his voice hoarse.

Seraphina Sinclair, in a daze, touched the man’s firm skin in the darkness. The rough breathing made her entire body feverish.

"Ethan, is that you?" Seraphina asked, panting lightly.

"Guess!" the man’s voice was icy.

Without giving Seraphina any time to react, the man increased his strength.

The tearing sensation spread throughout her body, cold sweat dripped from Seraphina’s forehead, and she let out a painful moan.

The man’s lips pressed against hers, swallowing all her moans.

His movements then softened significantly, cutting off all of Seraphina’s thoughts, leaving her to succumb to his motions until she finally fainted.

The next morning.

Seraphina slowly opened her eyes, the unnatural soreness between her legs made her understand what had happened last night. The man was gone, leaving her alone.

But this didn’t affect her good mood at all. A sweet smile appeared on her lips. Last night, their engagement day, she finally gave herself to Ethan Lloyd.

Her most beloved man!

"Bang!"

Suddenly, the door was forcefully opened. Ethan Lloyd, wearing a formal suit, looked as handsome and charming as always. Seraphina sweetly called out to him, "Ethan, where have you been?"

Just as she finished speaking, Melanie Lloyd, Ethan’s sister and the adopted daughter of the Lloyd Family, appeared right behind him.

"Seraphina Sinclair, how was the gigolo we sent you last night?"

With contemptuous sarcasm, Seraphina’s joyful expression froze instantly, "What do you mean?" A hint of unease arose in her heart.

Melanie proudly approached, holding Ethan’s arm. Her red lips parted slightly, "Ethan was with me all night, and the man with you was a gigolo we specially selected. Who knows how many women have paid for him, a filthy escort!"

"Seraphina Sinclair, aren’t you the high and mighty young lady? How was it being slept with by an escort?"

Seraphina’s eyes widened slowly, fury and despair filled her eyes, her nails clutching onto the bedsheet beneath her, "How can you do this to me?"

Seraphina’s voice was filled with anguish, which greatly satisfied Ethan Lloyd. He approached and seized her neck, speaking with extreme malice.

"My hatred for you doesn’t even measure up to half of what your father did to my parents. If it weren’t for that old fool, my parents wouldn’t be dead. My entire family was destroyed because of your dad. Do you think I could love you? I find the mere thought of touching you disgusting!"

Every word pierced through Seraphina’s heart like a thousand arrows, she vehemently denied, "Impossible! My dad has been so good to you all these years, giving you everything. How could he have harmed your family?"

Ethan laughed menacingly, "Your dad was good to me? To force me to marry you, he forced Melanie to have an abortion. It was my first child!"

Seraphina chuckled bitterly, her eyes moist.

A child?

Was Melanie’s child his?

It turned out this pair of shameless lovers had been colluding all along.

Only she had been foolishly deceived, wholeheartedly believing him, even speaking good words about Ethan to her dad, praising his excellence.

Ethan straightened his suit, looked at her with disdain, and smiled elegantly, "And there’s more shocking news. Your dad died last night. Today the Sinclair Family has been acquired by me. Everything of Sinclair’s is in my hands, if it weren’t for wanting to torment you, you should have joined your father to meet The Grim Reaper last night!"

Seraphina’s eyes were filled with blood. She recklessly charged forward, slapping Ethan across the face, crying out and roaring, "You beast! You’re not human!"

Ethan was slapped, his anger erupted instantaneously, he retaliated by slapping Seraphina back, and her cheek swelled instantly.

Furious, Ethan sneered coldly, "Someone, send her to the mental hospital. She’s not allowed to come out for the rest of her life."

Mental hospital.

Seraphina didn’t know how long she’d been there, but from the nurses’ gossip, she learned that the Sinclair family had gone bankrupt, and her naked photos were spreading everywhere.

Everyone despised her for having such an outstanding husband, yet cheating on him and driving her father to death.

Ethan had splashed all the dirt onto her.

"Fire! Fire!"

Suddenly, shouting came from outside.

Soon, thick smoke seeped through the window crevices and filled the whole room.

"Ethan Lloyd, Melanie Lloyd, I curse both of you despicable lovers to die a terrible death!" Seraphina stood amidst the inferno, her eyes filled with intense hatred.

Five years later.

Bayside City, airport entrance.

Seraphina Sinclair wore sunglasses, her long hair slightly curled cascading over her shoulders, a simple, crisp white shirt and jeans hugging her slender legs. Fair-skinned, beautiful, with a perfect figure and delicate features, she caught the attention of passersby at the airport.

She was on the phone with one hand, holding a little boy in a small suit with the other.

"Yiran, stop all the dealings with Lloyd Group. Don’t bother if they send people," the woman said, her red lips curling into a cold smile.

After all these years, she was finally back.

Seraphina hung up the phone, stroked her son’s head beside her, "Son, mommy recently spent several billion acquiring a company. You need to be frugal with the dividends until next month, okay?"

The little boy in the small suit, his face exquisitely carved, spoke softly after hearing her words, "Mommy, you should spend less. You have so many sports cars in the garage already, don’t waste money unnecessarily."

Seraphina looked at her son speechlessly.

What’s wrong with her spending some money! Sports cars look so nice, it’s a pity to leave them unbought.

Moreover, having her spending monitored by her son was really embarrassing.

Seraphina pouted, leading her son out of the airport and into an already parked black Cayenne.

They didn’t notice the flash of a camera capturing them as they got into the car.

Not far away, inside a flashy red car, Quentin Jennings stared at the photo on his phone, gaping in shock. He zoomed in, looked at it several times, shock growing in his heart.

He sent out the photo, frantically typing.

"Holy crap! Master Fairchild, guess what I saw?"

"I saw your son!"

"Look at this miniature version of you, it’s exactly like you as a kid! No doubt that’s your son. If not, I’ll let you have my head as your son!"

The man who received the message sat on a sofa in the office, his cold eyes staring at the photo, his expression noble and aloof. Although the photo was very blurred, it wasn’t difficult to see this child’s resemblance to himself.

His eyebrows furrowed tighter and tighter.

Assistant Warren stood beside him, trembling under his boss’s grave expression. What was wrong with the boss?

Desmond Fairchild’s handsome face was taut, showing no emotion. After a moment’s thought, he spoke: "Assistant Warren, investigate all the information and address of this car." With that, the man stood up, his long legs strides as he left the office.
