Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 127: Speaking Up for Him
CHAPTER 127: CHAPTER 127: SPEAKING UP FOR HIM
When Austin White heard Jude Sinclair mention bringing Camille over, his expression changed instantly.
Even though Austin also thought it was the best solution, doing this was indeed a bit too much.
Seeing Austin’s surprised expression, Jude remained calm and spoke softly, "Yes, second brother, you can see it too. My mom’s illness has been fluctuating, and I’m really afraid something major will happen."
After all the things that have happened, Jude didn’t want his mother to go through it again.
Although Bayside City also had excellent psychologists and Desmond Fairchild would search nationwide for good doctors to treat Seraphina Sinclair, in Jude’s opinion, no one could compare to his third brother Camille.
After all, Camille was well-versed in psychology and knew Seraphina’s condition well. From every angle, he was the best candidate.
After listening to all of Jude’s reasons, Austin finally agreed to Jude’s request.
"Alright, I’ll call Camille later to ask his opinion. If he’s willing, we’ll do as you say."
Meanwhile, Seraphina, who had just received an entire bottle of IV drip, finally showed signs of waking up.
Desmond noticed Seraphina’s small movements and immediately became alert, carefully watching her as she slightly awoke.
Drowsily, Seraphina opened her eyes and saw Desmond staring at her by the bed. She instantly became fully conscious.
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
Startled awake by Desmond, Seraphina stared at him with wide eyes.
"How are you feeling? Is there any discomfort? If there is, you must tell me."
"Um... Desmond, let’s talk about it calmly. There’s really no need to be so nervous. I’m fine."
Seeing Desmond’s anxious gaze, Seraphina couldn’t help but feel nervous as well and spoke to try and calm him down.
From Seraphina’s point of view, Desmond’s concern was a bit over the top since she didn’t feel any discomfort.
Even though, she couldn’t clearly remember what happened today.
"What do you mean there’s no need to be so nervous?"
Desmond was genuinely concerned about Seraphina’s condition, but didn’t expect her to not take it seriously at all!
When Seraphina saw Desmond so angry, she was first stunned, then felt a bit baffled, and responded in dissatisfaction, "What did I do? I was just telling you not to make a fuss, do you have to be so mad?"
"Fine, I shouldn’t care about you! Since you’re fine, I’ll head back to the company."
Desmond, already worried, felt uncomfortable hearing Seraphina’s words, and without waiting, he immediately turned and left in a rush.
As Desmond exited the ward, he ran into Jude and Austin coming in.
"Dad, where are you going?"
Seeing Desmond storming out, Jude couldn’t help but feel curious and immediately asked about the situation.
"Nothing, just take care of your mother."
With those words, he hurriedly left the ward.
Jude was a bit confused by Desmond’s behavior. After exchanging a look with Austin, the two walked into the ward one after the other.
At this point, Seraphina wasn’t in a great mood either, sitting alone with arms crossed, looking sullen.
Seeing her state, Jude guessed that she and Desmond must have been angry with each other. He quickly stepped to the bedside, took hold of Seraphina’s hand, and spoke softly, "Mom, did you have a fight with Dad?"
Jude was a bit taken aback, considering that their relationship had been harmonious lately, and they hadn’t really argued.
Seraphina, already in a bad mood, flared up when Jude mentioned Desmond and snapped back, "Don’t mention your dad in front of me!"
Jude was startled, quickly jumped onto the bed, and looked at Seraphina nervously, "Mom, did Dad bully you? You have to tell me. I won’t let him get away with it!"
His voice carried a mix of urgency, which snapped Seraphina back to reality.
Seeing Jude’s worried face, Seraphina realized she had misspoken, quickly pulled her son into her arms and gently said, "Jude, I’m sorry. I was too angry and said something wrong. Please don’t take it to heart."
Seraphina didn’t even know why she took her anger out on Jude just now.
Throughout the process, Austin quietly observed, watching Seraphina go from impulsive to rational. He felt there were things he should say on Desmond’s behalf.
"Godmother, although I don’t know why you and Desmond fought, I think you really shouldn’t treat him like that."
He admitted that he’d always had a prejudiced view of Desmond, but after today’s events, Austin sincerely felt he had gone too far in the past.
At least Desmond was truly sincere towards Seraphina.
Though Austin honestly wanted to mend the relationship between Seraphina and Desmond, his words weren’t easy for Seraphina to accept.
Seraphina listened to Austin’s words with a stern expression, her brows knit tightly. She glared at him and asked softly, "Austin, why are you siding with an outsider?"
Austin, seeing that Seraphina misunderstood him, quickly explained, "Godmother, if you say that, it’s really unfair! I’m speaking for Desmond’s sake, but isn’t it all for your benefit?"
"For my benefit? Then tell me, what good is Desmond?"
No matter how Austin explained, Seraphina remained stubborn, showing no appreciation for Desmond whatsoever.
Seeing this, Austin sighed deeply and spoke calmly to Seraphina, "Godmother, I really want to empathize with you and say all sorts of bad things about Desmond like you do, but I can’t be dishonest because he really has been pretty decent to you."
Pausing briefly, Austin continued, "You don’t know this, but he’s been secretly opposing the Lloyd Family for your sake. Not only that, every time something happens to you, he takes care of you down to the smallest detail, afraid that your old condition will relapse."
Hearing this, Seraphina’s expression changed, and the fierceness from earlier dissipated.
She was no longer rebutting Austin, but rather started to think seriously about her interactions with Desmond.
Suddenly, Seraphina felt a wave of guilt in her heart and couldn’t even imagine why she had said such harsh words just now...
Jude, being sharp, noticed that Seraphina realized her mistake and quickly stopped Austin, "Alright, second brother, you don’t need to say any more. I believe Mom knows what to do, right?"
