Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 139: Simon Finch
CHAPTER 139: CHAPTER 139: SIMON FINCH
In the following days, Seraphina did not see Desmond Fairchild again, nor did she seek him out. She buried herself in the company day in and day out, handling documents tirelessly. Although she appeared the same as usual, any moment of free time would leave her feeling particularly exhausted.
Seeing this, Jude Sinclair grew worried and sought help from Camille White. However, Camille couldn’t be of much assistance this time as Seraphina had unprecedented resistance to Jude’s intervention.
"What’s wrong with Mommy? Did Dad upset her again? Why does Dad always make her angry?" Jude said with a worried expression, leaning against the glass door and watching Seraphina go through documents.
Had he known that Dad would keep making Mommy unhappy every now and then, he definitely wouldn’t have supported Dad. Now that Mommy was like this, and Dad was nowhere to be found, it was really useless.
Seraphina’s condition during this time made Jude scared, and he wouldn’t leave her side, unwilling to go anywhere else.
"Jude, what are you doing here?" Suddenly, a familiar voice came from beside him.
Jude quickly turned his head, breaking into a big smile upon seeing the visitor: "Uncle Finch! Is that you? Why are you here?"
Simon Finch saw him like this and nodded with satisfaction, "You still remember Uncle Finch, huh? Seems like the care I gave you all those years hasn’t been in vain."
Simon Finch was a friend of Seraphina’s childhood friend, Rosalie Quinn. The more they interacted, the more they knew each other. During those years abroad, he had helped Seraphina a lot, and Jude really liked Simon Finch.
"Of course, Uncle Finch, weren’t you always abroad? Why are you back suddenly? Did Godmother come back with you?" Jude asked while peeking behind him.
"Do you think Uncle Finch came back just for fun? I’m here for business this time. Your godmother has things to take care of abroad, but once she’s done, she’ll come back too." Simon Finch pinched Jude’s cheek.
Jude eyed him curiously and suddenly moved to his side mysteriously: "Uncle Finch, have you not yet won over my godmother? You’re too slow! If you keep dawdling, someone else will really take her away."
Touched on a sore spot, Simon Finch was momentarily speechless.
Suddenly, he didn’t feel like talking to this sharp-witted Jude anymore.
"How long do you two plan to chat in front of my office?" Seraphina asked, somewhat helplessly, looking at the two who hadn’t stopped whispering since earlier.
"Hehe, Mommy, are you done with work?" Jude made a funny face at Simon and cheerfully ran to Seraphina’s side.
"Pretty much. Simon, long time no see." Seraphina patted Jude’s head and then raised her head to smile at Simon.
"Indeed, long time no see. Are you feeling unwell lately? You look so pale," Simon noted Seraphina’s tired face, frowning as he spoke.
Seraphina shook her head, not intending to answer this question: "The thing I mentioned over the phone last time, have you thought about it? Are you interested in collaborating with me?"
"Of course, otherwise what do you think I came back for?" Recalling the contents of Seraphina’s last phone call, Simon immediately showed interest.
Seraphina wanted to revive the Sinclair Group, which urgently needed a project to enhance its industry presence. The Sinclair Group initially thrived in real estate, and Seraphina thought of leveraging this expertise to put Sinclair back into the spotlight and then find ways to transform over time.
Coincidentally, the multinational company Simon was with was looking for a partner in Bayside City to jointly develop an industrial park, and Seraphina definitely wasn’t going to miss this opportunity.
"I really owe you my thanks for this." Seraphina breathed a sigh of relief.
"With our relationship, do you really need to thank me? It’s time for lunch, and since I just landed and rushed here after dropping my luggage at the hotel, you can’t negotiate with me on an empty stomach, right?" Simon joked lightly.
"Of course, I’ll treat you to a meal at Bayside City’s most famous restaurant." Seraphina promptly nodded.
"Me, me, me! I want to go too!" Jude exclaimed loudly, unwilling to miss out.
Seeing his enthusiasm, both Seraphina and Simon couldn’t help but laugh.
Meanwhile, in a luxury store, Anna was picking out watches with Desmond Fairchild. While Anna was enthusiastic, Desmond seemed absent-minded.
"Desmond, which of these two watches do you think suits Quentin Jennings better?" Anna asked, holding two watches and turning to Desmond.
"You decide, Quentin isn’t picky about these things," Desmond replied flatly.
Anna’s grip on the watches tightened for a moment. She had finally managed to use the excuse of picking a birthday gift for Quentin to get him out, only for him to act like this.
However, Seraphina showed no change in expression. She handed the watch in her left hand to the shop assistant, "Wrap this one up, please."
Desmond gazed absent-mindedly out the window, only to witness an unexpected scene—Seraphina standing with another man, her face beaming with a bright smile, and Jude holding the man’s hand, also smiling broadly.
His heart tightened, and he rushed out immediately.
"Hey, Desmond..." Anna called after him, realizing too late as he was already out the door. Confused, she glanced out the window, where she saw Seraphina, clenching her lips tightly.
Seraphina, along with Jude and Simon, had just emerged from the restaurant, discussing their collaboration plans, when suddenly a hand pulled her away from Simon, accompanied by Desmond’s angry voice: "Seraphina!"
Seraphina was caught off guard and nearly fell from the force of his pull.
"Mommy!" Jude shouted in fear, seeing Seraphina almost fall.
"Who are you!" Simon quickly reacted, stepping forward to steady Seraphina.
"Desmond, are you mad!" Now supported by Simon, Seraphina regained her composure and glared at Desmond.
"Who is he?" Desmond asked bluntly, his gaze fixed on Simon’s hand on Seraphina’s arm.
"What does it matter to you who he is? What’s wrong with you now?" Seraphina retreated a few steps to distance herself from Desmond.
Seeing her reaction, Desmond grew even angrier, just about to speak when Anna’s voice came from behind him: "Desmond, I’ve bought the items. Let’s go."
