Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 225: Even Heroes Fall for Beauties
CHAPTER 225: CHAPTER 225: EVEN HEROES FALL FOR BEAUTIES
"Oh, right, this is Jude." Seraphina said, pulling Jude over, "You’ve met Jude before. He’s your little grandson. He’s very smart and will surely do you proud in the future."
Jude, being the sensible child he is, instantly kneeled in front of the tombstone under his mother’s direction and kowtowed to his grandfather: "Grandpa, I’m here with mom and dad to visit you. Mom said she doesn’t know if you’re doing well in heaven, so I brought my favorite chocolates for you. I hope you like them."
As he said this, he took out a big box of chocolates from his backpack and placed them neatly in front of his grandfather’s tombstone, along with some plum blossoms he had picked on the way.
After saying their words, Seraphina knelt in front of the tombstone and began placing the offerings she had prepared one by one.
"Desmond, why don’t you take Jude for a walk? I have some things I want to say to my father alone." Seraphina gazed wistfully at her father’s picture on the tombstone, her heart growing heavier.
Desmond didn’t say much, scooping up Jude quickly, and the father and son soon disappeared from her sight.
Seraphina lost track of time as she spoke, having so much she wanted to tell her father, feeling that no amount of time would be enough.
Desmond, holding Jude’s hand, didn’t go far. He stood under a tree where he could still see Seraphina, watching the woman talking endlessly to the tombstone with deep eyes.
He understood Seraphina’s feelings but didn’t know about Ethan Lloyd’s involvement in Mr. Sinclair’s death.
Jude squatted on the ground, softly sighing: "Is mom okay? I’m a bit worried seeing her like this."
"She has you and me now, right?" Desmond bent down, ruffling Jude’s little head warmly with paternal affection.
"You’re right; mom has both dad and me now. If she’s unhappy, we’ll cheer her up, if she’s sick, we’ll take care of her. If she gets angry, we’ll comfort her together. Will that help mom’s depression get better?"
Jude’s big, watery eyes sparkled with hope. The fear he had experienced these days he did not wish to endure again; if it would cure his mom’s depression, he’d do anything.
Desmond stroked Jude’s head, his long, narrow eyes glancing over Seraphina’s frail figure as if murmuring to himself: "Yes, she will get better."
Reassured, Jude stood up happily, his little fist clenched tightly in determination: "Dad, I need to train well and study hard. I want to grow up quickly to protect mom."
Desmond felt gratified, a faint smile appearing on his gauntly handsome face: "Alright, Dad will work hard with you."
Not only Jude, but Desmond also had to take care of Seraphina with the utmost caution if anyone dared to hurt her again.
No mercy!
Feeling the change in aura beside him, Jude looked up, startled by Desmond’s grim expression.
Counting the previous time, this was the second time Jude saw such an expression on Desmond—a bloodthirsty gaze filled with killing intent, causing an involuntary sense of dread.
Yet Jude asked nothing further; he knew how much Desmond loved Seraphina, convinced that even if his dad were truly a bad person, he would never harm him or his mom.
Should anything unexpected happen, he would exhaust all his strength to protect his mom!
Thus, he must strive harder and learn more.
Seraphina didn’t know how long she had been talking in front of her father’s grave, only realizing her mouth was dry as she stood up and bowed deeply to the tombstone: "Dad, I’m leaving now. Rest assured, I’ll bring the kids often to visit you. Don’t worry about us. With your blessing, we will surely live safely and smoothly in all aspects."
A parent’s greatest wish is not for their children to earn a fortune but rather for them to grow up safely and live a healthy life.
Seraphina hadn’t understood this before, but now she did, being a mother herself, naturally able to empathize with a parent’s heart.
Only now that she understood, it appeared to be too late.
After paying respects to her father, Seraphina and Desmond took Jude back to Azure Cloud Shores.
Having been away from work for a long time, she was finally allowed to handle some work matters with Desmond’s permission.
However, Irene Rowe had been responsible for the affairs of the Kevin Group lately. With her strong personal ability and the nearing holidays making things bustling, yet no unsolvable issues had arisen.
The new product that had held a press conference earlier was also entering mass production, and it wouldn’t be long before it was publicly available on the market.
The moment she opened her computer, a news alert popped up.
Although Seraphina initially intended to close it, she spotted a familiar person on the screen.
Shirley Lynch...
It’s been some time since she’d seen her, surprisingly appearing in the news.
Upon opening it, Seraphina couldn’t help but laugh coldly.
According to the news, the near-defunct Lynches had been bought for a high price by the Grant Group, and Mr. Lynch had smoothly become an executive employed by the Grant Group.
"Carter Grant of the Grant Group, he’s someone significant," Desmond remarked as he held a cup of hot milk, leaning against Seraphina’s desk, having glanced at her computer screen.
"You know him?" Seraphina was surprised; for someone to be recognized as significant by Desmond, they must indeed be extraordinary.
Desmond stood up, placing the hot milk beside Seraphina, watching her take a couple of sips before continuing: "Carter Grant is about my age. A few years back, the Grant Group was still run by his father, with a fairly average company size, medium assets. Six years ago, after the unexpected death of his father, Carter took over and expanded the company to its current size within just six years. He’s indeed got talent."
Seraphina was aware of the Grant Group; if the commercial giants in Bayside City were listed today, the Cloudsea Group would be first, while the Grant Group could definitely rank in the top three.
How terrifying must one’s strength be to develop a company from small scale to a listed group in just six years?
Thinking about it carefully, even she couldn’t achieve that.
As she drank her milk, a trace of doubt flashed in her eyes: "If that’s the case, why did Carter Grant acquire the Lynch Group and give President Lynch such a good position? Everyone knows that the Lynches no longer have any value. Would someone like him really do a loss-making business?"
"You’re right, it doesn’t seem like it would happen. But there’s a saying that even a hero can be entranced by beauty." Desmond commented, looking with interest at Seraphina’s exquisite face, her lively, flushed cheeks making her more radiant. Those tender red lips opening and closing always made him want to lose himself to his thoughts.
Indeed, even a hero can be enthralled by beauty; he too couldn’t resist falling for Seraphina.
Seraphina hadn’t noticed Desmond’s intense gaze, and upon hearing his words, chuckled: "So, does that mean he fancies Shirley Lynch? This Mr. High really has unique taste."
An insidious and brainless woman like Shirley Lynch was hard for her to imagine what Carter Grant saw in her.
"Maybe there’s just something about her that captivates Carter Grant?" Desmond pondered, stroking his chin, wondering why his wife’s lips appeared so tempting suddenly, would she push him away if he kissed her now?
