CHAPTER 233: CHAPTER 233: THAT IS NOT HOME

Scumbags will get what’s coming to them, it’s not her turn yet.

Seraphina Sinclair clung to the man in front of her, crying on his broad chest until she could barely breathe.

In this lifetime, she had met two men, and never thought they both turned out to be cheating scumbags.

The more she thought about it, the more miserable she felt. Seraphina suddenly pushed the person beside her away, clutching a bottle of wine, wanting to continue drinking. But before she could bring it to her mouth, the bottle was snatched away.

Desmond Fairchild frowned, heart aching: "Seraphina, let’s go home."

"Home? Go to what home? That’s not my home!" Seraphina bitterly laughed as she snatched the wine bottle from Desmond’s hand, unable to hold back her bitterness, "That’s Desmond’s home. My and Jude’s home isn’t there. I’m going back, I want to take Jude and leave."

Now that things have blown up to this extent, staying any longer would only be self-degrading.

Thinking of this, Seraphina staggered to her feet, muttering under her breath: "I want to take Jude away from here, he doesn’t need a heartless dad like this."

She had drunk too much, couldn’t stand properly, hadn’t even straightened up before collapsing, fortunately Desmond was nearby, holding her securely in his arms.

"Quentin, bring the car over." Desmond cradled Seraphina with one hand while using the other to call Quentin Jennings to come and pick them up.

Quentin was swift in handling matters and quickly showed up with the car.

He carried the two ancestors back to Azure Cloud Shores.

Watching Desmond carry Seraphina inside, Quentin couldn’t help but shake his head with a sigh: "If only they knew now, why bother from the start."

The truth is, he didn’t agree with Desmond’s approach, but Desmond insisted on it, and now look, seeing Seraphina’s attitude, even if she found out the truth later, it would be hard to forgive Desmond.

In his words, this was fundamentally the worst tactic.

Unfortunately, some things are obscure to those involved, and being inexperienced in romantic matters, Desmond thought pushing Seraphina away was the best protection, without ever asking if Seraphina wanted this kind of protection.

Seraphina, drunk as a skunk, was brought back by Desmond, and her yelling was so loud during the trip that Jude couldn’t sleep.

Upon getting up and seeing this scene with his parents, his gaze flickered but he said nothing.

Desmond carried Seraphina to the room, helped her change clothes and take a bath. Luckily, Seraphina wasn’t one to go crazy when drunk, though she was in bad shape, she remained relatively calm, except her little mouth never stopped babbling.

Seraphina’s delicate face was streaked with tears, the strong smell of alcohol was pricking Desmond’s nerves.

He fell even more silent, no matter what Seraphina said, he no longer responded.

At this moment, he regretted it deeply, regretted pushing Seraphina away like this. This is the woman he loves, how could he bear to see her suffer?

"Desmond, what did I do wrong? Are you going to treat me like this too?" Seraphina cried her heart out as she held Desmond, "Turns out you’re just like everyone else, you really mind my past, don’t you? You see me as worn-out because I’m divorced, don’t you? That’s why you fell in love with someone else."

As Seraphina spoke, bitter tears rolled into her mouth, making her feel even worse: "I know, I know I’m not worthy of you, that’s why I never intended to pursue you. It was you who barged into my life, and now you’re leaving without a trace, what do you see me as?"

If it weren’t for his kindness, his constant gentle care, his ongoing allure, how would she have fallen for him?

Now, when her heart has moved, Desmond doesn’t want her anymore.

"Desmond, can you tell me where I went wrong? Tell me, I’ll change, alright? Don’t leave me." Seraphina choked on her tears, speaking almost incoherently.

At this point, Desmond couldn’t care about anything else, he only wanted to hold her close and comfort her lovingly.

Seeing Seraphina like this, he couldn’t steel his heart.

He gently stroked her head, speaking with some certainty: "Alright, I won’t leave you."

Seems like she heard Desmond’s words, Seraphina gradually quieted down, lying in Desmond’s arms and falling sound asleep.

After she fell asleep, Desmond prepared to leave quietly, but somehow Seraphina clung to him like an octopus, making him unable to move.

Out of options, he could only continue to sleep beside her.

The next day.

Because Seraphina drank too much, she slept until the afternoon.

She rubbed her throbbing temples and sat up in bed, feeling soreness and weakness in her arms, even having difficulty raising them.

After sitting for a few minutes, the events of last night flashed through her mind like a marquee, reminding her of the intimate scene between Desmond and that woman, and again her stomach churned.

She hurried off the bed, dashed into the bathroom, and started throwing up.

Men, not one of them is good. She thought Desmond was decent, but it turned out he was just like Ethan Lloyd, both peas in a pod.

"Mommy." Seraphina was leaning over the sink, ready to curse, when Jude’s voice came from outside.

She wiped her face, composed her emotions, and then opened the bathroom door, forcing a smile to greet Jude: "What’s up, Jude."

"Are you okay? Dad wanted you to drink this." Jude held a cup of warm hangover soup, and seeing Seraphina’s haggard face, he couldn’t help but worry, "Mommy, you look awful, should we call Uncle Ethan to check on you?"

Seraphina slowly crawled onto bed, weakly said: "No need, I’m fine."

"You drank too much last night, so drink this hangover soup first. Dad worked hard to make it for you." Jude walked to the bedside, placed the hangover soup on the nightstand.

"Does he not know why I was drinking? Now pretending to be a good guy?" Seraphina couldn’t help but sneer, finding the hangover soup ironic, "Take the soup away. Even if I drink myself to death, I don’t need him to care!"

Jude sighed, softly comforting: "I don’t know what Dad did wrong, but great-grandma said that it’s normal for couples to fight, it’s a regular occurrence. Please, don’t be mad at Dad, okay?"

Seraphina reached out to touch Jude’s head, a tender smile hovering on her lips: "Jude, some things can’t be forgiven, do you understand?"

"What did Dad do exactly?" Jude asked with wide eyes, curious. He wasn’t a fool, this wasn’t the first time something like this happened, just he didn’t believe Desmond would truly cheat.

"Son, are you on my side or your Dad’s?" Seraphina asked coldly, feeling disgusted thinking about Desmond’s actions.

"Of course I’m on your side, Mommy. If Dad really did something too wrong, then we don’t want this Dad anymore." Jude understood that no matter who was right or wrong in this matter, he had to stand by Seraphina.

Because through the years, it was Mommy who worked hard to raise him, not Desmond.

Seraphina was touched as she held his little hand, "Son, your Dad doesn’t want Mommy anymore, he found a new girlfriend. From now on, it’ll just be the two of us depending on each other."
