Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 235: Can an Apology Really Solve Everything?
CHAPTER 235: CHAPTER 235: CAN AN APOLOGY REALLY SOLVE EVERYTHING?
Desmond Fairchild sighed softly, trying to reach for Seraphina Sinclair’s hand, but it was forcefully shaken off.
Seraphina Sinclair frowned, her eyes filled with disgust: "Do you know? Your touch just makes me feel sick right now."
Just thinking about these hands having touched another woman, holding someone else’s hand, wrapping around someone’s waist, made her feel so dirty, truly filthy.
"I’m sorry for what happened last night." Desmond Fairchild couldn’t bear to see Seraphina Sinclair in such a state, hesitating whether to tell the truth.
"President Fairchild, you’re quite something. Do you think an apology can solve this?" Seraphina Sinclair’s brows furrowed, her words filled with sarcasm, "If you did this just to apologize, it’s unnecessary. I won’t accept your apology, you can leave."
An apology is not a panacea.
Not everything can be swept under the rug with a simple ’sorry.’
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t want to say more to Desmond Fairchild, only wanting him to disappear from her sight quickly. She shouted at the door, "Jude, get this man out!"
Jude Sinclair naturally sided with Seraphina Sinclair, having overheard the argument between her and Desmond Fairchild, he roughly understood what happened, though he thought there might be a misunderstanding, he tried not to provoke Seraphina Sinclair.
Desmond Fairchild thought the same, out of concern for her depression, he didn’t argue, allowing Seraphina Sinclair to drive him out of the house.
The mighty President of Cloudsea Group being kicked out of his home by his wife would absolutely be a major headline.
Quentin Jennings watched as Desmond Fairchild got pushed out by Jude Sinclair, finding it both amusing and pitiful.
"Funny?" Desmond Fairchild got into the car, his eyes dark like stormy skies in June.
"Honestly, it kind of is." Quentin Jennings said daringly, "I mean why torture yourself like this? If you’re reluctant, why do such a thing. Now look, you want to explain but she’s not giving you a chance. The longer this drags on, the less likely she’ll forgive you."
"I understand." Desmond Fairchild lowered his gaze, uncertain of his thoughts.
Quentin Jennings discarded his cigarette, exhaling smoke rings before continuing: "Though Aunt was divorced once, she has some psychological pressure. Yet in relationships, she absolutely won’t tolerate betrayal. Camille White told me before that she has an emotional cleanliness, do you know what that means?"
Desmond Fairchild lifted his head, not responding.
"A person with emotional cleanliness might not only have one love in their lifetime. But once they fall in love, their heart and mind will be filled with the other person. If that person wrongs her even a little, she’ll react extremely negatively, possibly changing from affection to aversion. Your act with Natalie Summers yesterday was caught by her, now just touching her might make her nauseous and disgusted."
Quentin Jennings spoke while staring directly at Desmond Fairchild: "Master Fairchild, dating someone like her is indeed exhausting, perhaps you should seize this opportunity to draw a clear line with Aunt."
"If you don’t want to die, shut your mouth." Desmond Fairchild’s cold eyes swept across Quentin Jennings’ face, frightening him into silence.
Emotional cleanliness.
No wonder Seraphina Sinclair retched at the sight of him, because she had emotional cleanliness?
He called Camille White, asking about Seraphina Sinclair’s case, and Camille gave him a sure answer: "Emotional cleanliness varies in intensity, the deeper the love, the deeper the cleanliness. Godmother’s past failures made her resistant to love. It’s your warmth that opened her heart again. If you act like Ethan Lloyd, she might collapse or even faint again, so don’t push your luck."
Camille White’s words were not just a reminder but a warning.
If the White Family knew Desmond Fairchild wronged Seraphina Sinclair, they would never let him off easily.
Camille’s explanation was heard by Quentin Jennings, who advised Desmond Fairchild: "I think you only have two choices now: either break up with Aunt completely or find an opportunity to explain quickly, otherwise you’ll end up destroyed."
Desmond Fairchild knew that all too well, he just never expected Seraphina Sinclair to react so intensely. He thought he was doing it for her benefit, that once it ended, she’d understand when he told her the truth.
But now it seems he overestimated.
Even if Seraphina Sinclair learns the truth later, whether things can return to how they were is uncertain.
Seraphina Sinclair was so angry she nearly fainted, weakly collapsing onto the bed, tears flowing uncontrollably.
She couldn’t bring herself to send Desmond Fairchild away, but what could she do now?
After what happened, she really couldn’t act like nothing happened and let Desmond Fairchild linger around, just seeing his face made her heart ache unbearably.
"Mommy, are you okay?" Jude Sinclair gently lay beside Seraphina Sinclair, seeing her tear-stained face, hurriedly picking up a tissue to wipe her tears, "Since Daddy is so bad, let’s not have him, we can go back with second brother."
"Jude, Mommy only has you now." Seraphina Sinclair cried, hugging Jude tightly.
Jude understandingly hugged Seraphina Sinclair back, gently patting her back, attempting to comfort her.
In the following days, Desmond Fairchild tried many times to explain to Seraphina Sinclair, but she seemed to ignore him completely, going about her tasks.
Her coldness left Desmond Fairchild helpless, every time he tried to speak, she’d get up and leave, thoroughly dismissing him.
Rosalie Quinn heard of the incident and cursed Desmond Fairchild, determined to confront him, though she was eventually persuaded by Simon Finch.
She thought Simon Finch made some sense, how could there be a grudge overnight between couples, if Desmond Fairchild’s prior love for Seraphina Sinclair was all an act, that would be frightening.
"What is Desmond Fairchild thinking? He claims to love Seraphina, so why treat her like this?" Rosalie Quinn couldn’t figure out this one aspect.
Simon Finch laughed, explaining: "Put yourself in his shoes, if you love me but have to push me away, what could be the reason?"
"That would probably be family reasons or being threatened." Rosalie Quinn wasn’t stupid, just happened to be a fan of idol dramas, having seen countless novels and shows with such plots.
Thinking about it, she looked at Simon Finch with disbelief: "No way, someone wouldn’t actually imitate the domineering CEO trope in real life, would they?"
"It’s hard to say, Desmond Fairchild as Cloudsea Group’s president has many enemies, doing this isn’t impossible." Simon Finch opened a book, pushing up his glasses calmly.
"Regardless, even if that’s the reason, he should’ve discussed it with Seraphina first. Some people presume too much, he thinks it’s for her good? But never asked her if she accepts." Rosalie Quinn deeply sighed, tossing chips onto the couch, blinking at Simon Finch and patting him, "Come on, take me to Kevin."
