Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 238: Press Conference
CHAPTER 238: CHAPTER 238: PRESS CONFERENCE
Seraphina Sinclair stood on the high platform, her beautiful face devoid of excessive expressions, adorned with a standard fake smile, as she spoke to the camera: "Hello, everyone, I am Seraphina Sinclair. I appreciate the attention concerning my relationship with Desmond Fairchild from Cloudsea Group. Now, I’ll provide you all with an answer."
"President Sinclair, is it true that you and President Fairchild have broken up?" The reporter in the front row asked first.
"That’s a good question. Indeed, there have been some issues between Desmond and me, but we haven’t broken up. Thank you all for your concern." Seraphina maintained a graceful smile, yet her eyes were as cold as ice and snow.
Someone else asked, "Is there a third party involved between you? Recently, the media captured photos of President Fairchild entering a hotel with a young woman. Are the contents true?"
Seraphina gave a slight smile, her expression becoming somewhat heavy, yet still calmly composed: "It seems everyone is very concerned about our private lives, but everyone has their own space for friends. We won’t interfere much with each other’s friends."
Her words were flawless, conveying her stance and explaining that Desmond and that woman were merely friends.
By reaching this point, naturally, no one probed further. If anyone senselessly pursued more questions, it would be looking for trouble.
Some might believe her explanation, while others may not.
"President Sinclair, if your relationship with President Fairchild does fall apart, will the two companies continue to cooperate?" This was a question the public was concerned about.
Seraphina responded calmly: "Regardless of what happens, business is business. We never let personal feelings get in the way of work. Whether he and I can reach the end, it won’t affect the cooperation between Kevin and Cloudsea Group. Please stay tuned for the new projects both companies are developing."
"Was your relationship with President Fairchild always a publicity stunt? It seems there’s rarely any private interaction between you two, could it all be an act for public consumption? Previously, there were rumors of your infidelity, which you never directly addressed. Are these all coincidences?"
This reporter was aggressive and sharp with questions, which was displeasing.
Seraphina’s heart trembled, yet her face showed no dissatisfaction. She replied, slightly smiling: "That’s a good question, sir. Let me ask you, would you frequently flaunt your relationship on social media?"
"Of course, I would share dozens of relationship updates daily." The reporter answered confidently, believing that was what a relationship should be like, which Seraphina and Desmond didn’t have.
"Then, can that prove that your work isn’t professional? Besides, everyone has a different approach to relationships. Some like to share daily life; others do not. Not everyone enjoys airing their private matters, it merely proves that your way of handling relationships is your choice. Doesn’t deny my choice, right?"
Seraphina’s words left the reporter speechless, his mouth moved to argue, but he found no reason to counter.
As others attempted to ask questions, Irene Rowe timely intervened: "Everyone, today’s press conference ends here. Please show more attention to our new products. Thank you all."
Seraphina left by car, replaying the reporter’s words in her mind, falling into deep thought.
Was it all an act?
Perhaps, there was a possibility.
From beginning to end, her relationship with Desmond started without any forewarning and ended likewise, yet in hindsight, there were traces. If she wasn’t Jude Sinclair’s mother, they might never have crossed paths in this life.
Desmond Fairchild, how does he see her?
Sitting in the passenger seat, Seraphina’s small face was numb from smiling, heart feeling empty, as if something was missing.
She had also seen the news of Desmond entering a hotel with the young woman. Their faces were clearly captured; the woman was the same one she had seen that day.
It turned out, their relationship had already grown this intimate?
She thought she had moved on these days; however, the coldness on her cheeks reminded her that this was merely the beginning.
Unaware of when it happened, her entire heart seemed to have been lost to Desmond.
Upon learning of his relationship with another woman, although it was hard to accept, she still hoped that it was all false, that they could return to the past.
Yet each incident proved otherwise, showing that they couldn’t go back.
"BOSS, let me take you home first." Irene’s heart ached for Seraphina, but she dared not mention Desmond’s matters.
Returning to Azure Cloud Shores, Seraphina looked at every flower and plant at home, the living room, the kitchen, always thinking of Desmond’s shadow.
His presence lingered everywhere in this place, every corner carrying his remaining scent, making her heart grow emptier.
She had to leave, right now!
Contacting Camille White, Seraphina spoke urgently: "Camille, book me a ticket. I want to take Jude back to the island. Meanwhile, have the old man find someone to take over Kevin’s affairs."
"Alright, I’ll get to it." Camille also saw the news and naturally understood why Seraphina wanted to leave.
He didn’t stop her; perhaps this departure was a good opportunity to treat her depression.
No one knew that Kevin’s person in charge quietly departed from Bayside City.
Seraphina left in haste, telling no one, without tears, without goodbyes.
No one knew where she went, it was as if she vanished from the world, leaving no trace.
In Aridia, Desmond Fairchild stood in military attire at the edge of the jungle, with Natalie Summers, the woman recently rumored with him, by his side.
"Master Fairchild, news received, Madam and the young master are missing."
"What happened?" Desmond’s eyes deepened, his tone instantly turning colder.
Natalie cautiously explained: "Apparently, after we left, rumors of us entering a hotel together started spreading in Bayside City. Once Madam knew, the next day she already handled Kevin’s handover, now her whereabouts are unknown."
Desmond’s face turned ashen, retracting the step he was about to take: "Find them!"
Before leaving Bayside City, he had assigned people to protect Seraphina and her son. He never expected they would vanish under his nose, leaving no trace, and learning of it only after such a long time.
Damn it!
Natalie dared not delay, immediately sent people to investigate.
Seraphina’s disappearance from Bayside City had been three to five days now. She had concealed this without reporting it for fear that Desmond would be distracted on his mission, thus deliberately concealing Seraphina’s disappearance.
Even though she arranged people to secretly investigate, no results were found.
This time was no different. Despite numerous methods used, she still couldn’t locate Seraphina.
Seraphina and Jude seemed to have vanished into thin air, leaving no trace.
Desmond received this news, his cold handsome face paled, with a deadly glare on Natalie, as if wanting to tear her to pieces: "Why didn’t you inform me sooner?"
