Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 24: Is He Even Worthy?
CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 24: IS HE EVEN WORTHY?
In her sleep, Seraphina Sinclair seemed to hear his words, her breathing gradually steadied, and her small face no longer appeared as tormented as before.
Looking at her serene and beautiful face, and recalling the large burn scars on her back, Desmond Fairchild’s eyes narrowed slightly, with intense murderous intent in his eyes.
Desmond picked up the phone by the bedside and sent a text message to Quentin Jennings, "Go check on Seraphina Sinclair, every detail from her childhood to now, I want to know everything."
Quentin Jennings, who had finally sobered up after vomiting countless times, just lay down on the bed after taking a shower, when he saw the message from Desmond Fairchild on his phone.
Upon seeing these words, Quentin felt invigorated. In fact, he couldn’t help himself and had already dug up all he could about Seraphina without waiting for Desmond’s orders.
Quentin sprang up like a carp and called Desmond directly, "Boss, you didn’t even need to say anything, I already looked into it. Seraphina’s identity is not simple; for the past five years, it’s as if she vanished into thin air without a trace, as if deliberately erased."
"Seraphina Sinclair turned out to be the heiress of Bayside City’s most prestigious elite family. According to the information I found, she was highly favored, spoiled and willful since childhood, and was childhood sweethearts with Ethan Lloyd, the current general manager of the Lloyd Group. However, Ethan reportedly didn’t like Seraphina, who used every method possible to marry him."
"The two eventually married, but the good times didn’t last long. Before long, Seraphina was caught red-handed by Ethan at The Crown Hotel, secretly consorting with a gigolo. Afterward, the disgraced Seraphina went mad and was sent to a mental institution, after which no information about her was found."
This was all too dramatic. Quentin, accustomed to the sordid tactics within these elite families, felt that even TV dramas wouldn’t dare depict such events.
Moreover, everyone knows Ethan immediately announced that Melanie Lloyd was not his biological sister but a Lloyd Family adoptee, and the two of them got engaged the next year.
Recalling the incident with the gigolo at the hotel, he stroked his chin meaningfully, with a half-smile, "Desmond, do you think the person Seraphina rendezvoused with back then could have been you?"
Even without verification, he was convinced that the man who was with Seraphina was indeed Desmond.
Desmond reflected on the night at The Crown Hotel five years ago. Although drugged and unable to recall Seraphina’s appearance clearly, the hotel shown in the files’ photos was the one he had been to.
Quentin was right; everything was too coincidental and raised suspicion.
"You think Ethan could be that stupid? Rejecting such a beautiful and elegant wife?" Quentin sighed lightly, feeling that the past events were definitely not simple.
Hearing this, a ruthless look crossed Desmond’s ink-black eyes, his tone indescribably cold: "Ethan Lloyd? He’s not even worthy."
"Yes, yes, the boss is right, Ethan, that kind of trash, is naturally unworthy. Only someone extraordinary like our boss could match Miss Sinclair’s peerless beauty."
When it came to flattering, Quentin would claim second place without admitting defeat to anyone for first.
"Continue investigating." Desmond felt very uneasy in his heart; the thought of Seraphina once being married to Ethan and enduring so much suffering made him want to kill.
Sensing the strong murderous aura emanating from Desmond, Quentin wisely fell silent.
The information in the documents should all be true, and no wonder Desmond was so furious.
Who wouldn’t feel uncomfortable knowing their child’s mother was once married to another man?
After hanging up, Desmond glanced at the sleeping Seraphina with his long, narrow eyes, turned off the lights, and moonlight flooded the entire room.
