"Of course I’m on Mom’s side, I’m just giving my opinion." Jude Sinclair stood up, feeling a pang of pity as he looked at Seraphina Sinclair’s dejected expression.

He moved his small body, lying on Seraphina’s lap, his sweet voice as soft and sweet as can be: "Mom, why don’t we go shopping and buy something, you like little dresses the most, don’t you?"

Austin White agreed: "Jude has a good idea. Godmother, don’t just stay cooped up at home, we’ll take you out for a walk."

Seraphina remained silent, Jude and Austin exchanged a glance and spoke in unison: "Since you’re not saying anything, we’ll take it as a yes."

Saying this, the two hurriedly went back to prepare, little did they know they’d be met with Joel White’s orders.

"There’s new activity from the powers in Y Continent. Recently, a batch of mafia from Aridia has been wiped out, and it seems the secret division from Y Continent might be involved. Go investigate." Joel sat on the couch, though barely in his twenties, his face showing a maturity beyond his years.

Austin barely had time to complain before he was dragged away by his subordinates.

Joel White is the eldest among the White brothers, known for being steady and wise. Now, with the old master retiring, he manages Diamond Island and is an exceptional talent.

Among the White brothers, Austin excels in network technology, the third brother is skilled in medicine and psychology, and the oldest brother Joel is knowledgeable in almost everything.

Since Seraphina returned, she has either been sunbathing or daydreaming in the garden, her lost expression even making Joel feel distressed.

Seraphina was forced to come along; she wasn’t in a good mood and had no interest in shopping. If it weren’t for Jude’s persistent coaxing and feigned tears, she wouldn’t have budged an inch.

Aridia is the biggest and most prosperous commercial empire in the world, far beyond what little Bayside City can compare to.

The industry chain here is countless, housing products from various countries, with all kinds of goods in abundance. Practically anything you can think of, you can buy here.

Of course, expenses here are top-notch high, ordinary people might not even afford a bowl of ramen.

Seraphina lowered her eyes, disinterested in everything around.

Skylark is cold by nature, only showing unusual enthusiasm during fights; the rest of the time, she rarely has any emotional fluctuations.

Plus, before leaving, Jude said he didn’t feel well and stayed behind on the island, so only Seraphina and Skylark were out shopping.

The two of them, one heavy-hearted from a recent breakup, the other inherently an ice queen, resulting in them not uttering a single word on their way.

Until noon arrived, Skylark’s biological clock reminded her it was time for lunch, prompting her to ask: "Vivian, lunch."

Seraphina had no appetite, but knowing Skylark was disciplined about meals, she casually pointed at a restaurant: "How about here?"

They stepped into a Hong Kong-style afternoon tea restaurant, Seraphina with no appetite while Skylark ordered two dishes casually.

Once full, Skylark suddenly felt a stomachache, her face slightly flushed, and asked Seraphina for permission: "Vivian, restroom."

"Go, go." Seraphina nodded.

With Seraphina’s consent, Skylark left to find a public restroom.

Seraphina, fearing Skylark might not find her, didn’t dare to wander off alone, waiting at the shop entrance for Skylark.

She was completely lost in thought, oblivious to the surroundings, and didn’t notice a pair of eyes fiercely staring at her from behind, as if poisoned with malice.

Just as she stood still and lowered her head to check the time, the shop sign overhead suddenly fell without warning, heading straight for her.

"Watch out!" A man’s exclamation sounded in her ears.

Seraphina instinctively turned around but before she could see who it was, she was pushed aside fiercely; she nearly slipped in her uneasy state, and with the sound of the sign hitting the ground, she safely fell into a warm embrace.

"Seraphina junior, are you okay?" The man anxiously watched Seraphina, afraid she might be hurt.

As Seraphina came to her senses, she awkwardly retreated from his arms, hastily thanking him: "Thank you."

"Just lending a hand, no need to thank me." The man smiled brightly, his gentle voice was charming like osmanthus in autumn.

"Who are you?" Previously startled, Seraphina now focused on the man’s face, feeling as if she’d seen him before, though couldn’t immediately recall.

The man showed a pitiful look: "I wrote you a love letter back then, didn’t think Seraphina junior could be so heartless and forget me."

Love letter?

Many, back then, gave Seraphina love letters, yet this man before her bore a face prettier than most women. Despite that, he wasn’t effeminate but rather carried a cute puppy-like softness.

Moments ago, she seemed to hear him call her Seraphina junior.

Light flashed in her mind as scattered memories appeared.

Seraphina bit her lips, hesitating: "Could you be, Keith Hughes senior?"

"You remembered." Hearing Seraphina say his name, Keith Hughes grinned once more.

"Wow, what a coincidence, thank you for saving me, senior." Seraphina widened her eyes in surprise.

Keith Hughes smiled brightly, shaking his head lightly: "Nothing much, don’t worry. By the way, are you alone? Isn’t your boyfriend accompanying you?"

"I’m here with a friend." Seraphina tugged at her lips; as for a boyfriend, she hasn’t had one in a while.
