Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 250: Investigation
CHAPTER 250: CHAPTER 250: INVESTIGATION
After finding the location of the USB drive, it displayed an original video.
The mouse hovered over the video icon, motionless for a long time.
She hesitated again, unsure whether to click it open.
The feelings she had for Desmond Fairchild, although she hadn’t said it out loud, she knew it had reached its end.
Things have developed to this point, why is she still looking for bits and pieces about him?
In the end, her trembling hand still lacked the courage to press the confirm button.
She didn’t dare, couldn’t bear to watch. She feared that the moment she saw Desmond Fairchild’s figure, all her pride and persistence would turn to ashes.
She was afraid of not being able to forget him, afraid that as long as he appeared, she would run to him recklessly, forgetting everything he had done to her.
Seraphina Sinclair bit her red lips hard, until a trace of blood appeared on them, then she suddenly snapped out of it.
"Forget it, since deciding to end it, why bother to seek trouble for myself." After shutting the laptop, Seraphina Sinclair picked up the USB drive and tossed it into the bedside cabinet.
Diamond Island.
True to its name, it’s an island where diamonds are produced.
Because of this, even though it is just an island, it can be described as wealthy enough to rival a nation.
Moreover, Diamond Island is a place of unregulated management, where its wealth goes without saying, but it is also the largest underground trading market.
Since Diamond Island is not under any country’s jurisdiction, though it’s thriving, there are also many different crimes happening here.
Aridia.
Inside a ground-level bar, deafening music caused headaches, yet men and women in the dance floor seemed to enjoy it, moving freely and releasing their youth.
Quentin Jennings sat in the corner booth, surrounded by beautiful women, feeling quite at ease.
He turned his head to the other end of the sofa, contrasting him like two extremes. Desmond Fairchild sat quietly on the sofa, his strong aura preventing anyone from approaching within a meter, the cold air around him was colder than the winter wind.
His demeanor in the bar was more like a menacing god, not someone here to relax, rather it’s as if he’s here to cause trouble.
"Master Fairchild, you don’t need to be so restrained, right? We finally caught the mole in the team and unexpectedly found your wife’s whereabouts, shouldn’t you be happy? Can you smile?" Quentin Jennings couldn’t stand Desmond’s dullness, pushing away the girl beside him and sitting next to him, complaining.
"Get lost." Desmond Fairchild frowned instinctively as Quentin approached.
Quentin was startled, quickly moving away: "No need to be so fierce even if you’re unhappy, what did I do?"
"Smells bad." Desmond’s face was extremely unpleasant.
Having been brothers for so many years, Quentin had some understanding of Desmond; saying it smells bad must mean the perfume scent clinging onto him.
Thinking of this, Quentin had no choice but to dismiss all the girls, only then would Desmond allow him to get closer.
"Ever since you and your wife got together, you haven’t been coming to the bar. Finally coming once, and it’s this expression." Quentin shook his head and sighed.
Desmond didn’t respond; he never liked exchanging trivialities.
Quentin wasn’t bothered, continuing solo: "Recently, Eric Holt seems to be making moves again; I suspect he’s involved with this batch of underground trades on Diamond Island this time."
"Tell me your thoughts." Rarely hearing Quentin bring up serious matters, Desmond paused his smoking, gesturing him to continue.
Quentin set aside his usual playful demeanor, suddenly serious: "After Eric Holt returned to Bayside City, he hasn’t done much apart from kidnapping Jude Sinclair. However, so much time has passed, and when we received notice of underground trading from Diamond Island, the message from Bayside City was that Eric Holt also suddenly disappeared from Bayside City. I think this isn’t a coincidence."
"Master, if Eric Holt really went down this path, what should we do?" Quentin frowned deeply, after all, Eric was Desmond’s brother, despite their poor relationship, they’re still blood-related.
"The law doesn’t accommodate personal relations, do I need to teach you that?" Desmond cast a sidelong glance at Quentin, cold gaze devoid of any sentiment.
Quentin instantly realized: "I understand. If that kid wants to court death, I suppose we can only oblige him."
Perhaps before, Desmond indeed hadn’t thought of taking lethal action against Eric Holt. Yet ever since he repeatedly targeted Seraphina Sinclair and Jude Sinclair, being lenient would leave endless future troubles.
"By the way, do you need to bring anyone when infiltrating the island this time?" Quentin recalled Desmond going alone to investigate, feeling uneasy.
"No need to make a big deal out of it." Desmond extinguished the cigarette in his hand, slowly standing up, his slanted almond eyes carrying an inexplicable darkness, "Once the information is confirmed, I’ll notify you again, in the meantime, don’t contact me."
Quentin opened his mouth but didn’t speak, watching Desmond leave, praying for his safe success.
Preferably, not forgetting what he should do because of emotional entanglements.
That’s Quentin’s current biggest worry, upon learning Seraphina Sinclair was on Diamond Island, fearing Desmond would lose his calm due to her.
Though Desmond isn’t one to lose composure, but when facing Seraphina Sinclair, Master Fairchild loses all thinking ability.
Oh...
The future is worrisome.
Such is the case, after all, heroes can’t resist the allure of beauty.
When night falls.
Diamond Island becomes a sea of lights.
Seraphina Sinclair had just finished dinner when Keith Hughes called.
"Do you have time now?" Keith asked over the phone.
Seraphina glanced at her watch, hesitated for a few seconds, "Is there something up?"
Keith’s voice came through with a smile, "Diamond Island’s night view is nice, I wondered if I could bring her to check it out, so wanted to invite you to experience it."
"And then pay you with an after-view comment?" Seraphina chuckled at his words.
"If possible, that’d be ideal." Keith answered earnestly.
Seraphina giggled: "Do you have to be like this? After all, we’ve been classmates, you use me like this?"
After a few moments of thought, Keith cautiously said, "Then how about, if you write that comment, I’ll treat you to dinner?"
"Don’t bother with mealtime, but if things get serious, don’t forget to invite me to your wedding." Seraphina raised her eyebrows.
"Certainly won’t forget." Keith agreed wholeheartedly.
Getting Keith’s location, Seraphina sent Jude to sleep before heading out alone.
Arriving at the specified location, Keith was already waiting there, crazily waving as he saw Seraphina: "Junior Seraphina, here, over here."
Standing on the island’s tallest point, Seraphina’s face cooled by the nighttime chill.
She regretted it, knowing ahead that heights often mean colder winds, she should’ve worn more.
Moon Embracing Tower is the name of the building where Seraphina stood.
Due to its high geographic location, the tower situated on mountain tops is Diamond Island’s iconic architecture.
Perhaps nobody can pinpoint where Diamond Island is most bustling, but if talking about the island’s tallest building, everyone knows it must be Moon Embracing Tower.
