CHAPTER 256: CHAPTER 256: DEMANDING ANSWERS

Seraphina Sinclair refused without hesitation, "I’m just friends with Keith Hughes."

Keith Hughes agreed, "That’s right."

"Why is it like this?" Fiona Dunn pouted, "Do you know how much effort I put into finding suitable partners for you? You guys don’t give me any face at all."

With that, she suddenly stood up, dusted off her seat, and prepared to leave. Before exiting, she instructed, "I don’t care if you have someone you like, since I dragged you here today, you must go through my process. At least spend an hour alone together. If you’re still not interested in each other, then I’ll have to find another suitable match for Seraphina."

For some reason, Fiona Dunn always felt that Keith Hughes’s attitude toward Seraphina Sinclair was noticeably different from that toward others. Back in school, Keith Hughes was never this amiable to the students, even though he would smile, it always felt inexplicably cold.

Today, Keith Hughes was different from usual.

She could only take a gamble, betting that Keith Hughes had some interest in Seraphina Sinclair.

After secretly clenching her fists, Fiona Dunn disappeared in a flash, leaving time and space for Seraphina Sinclair and Keith Hughes.

The two glanced at each other, seeing a look of helplessness in each other’s eyes.

Keith Hughes was the first to break the silence, "Why the sudden matchmaking?"

"It’s just Fiona Dunn’s antics, you don’t need to take it to heart." Seraphina Sinclair gave a small smile, unable to speak about the reason for the matchmaking.

"Actually, Rosalie Quinn told me about your situation, I heard you had a relationship with President Fairchild of Cloudsea Group. But recently, it seems to have come to an end." Keith Hughes spoke while observing Seraphina Sinclair’s expression, noticing how her gaze dimmed at the mention of President Fairchild.

Seraphina Sinclair smiled generously and nodded, "Yeah, a wrong relationship, there’s no better way but to end it."

"Some say the best way to forget a past relationship is to start a new one. Have you ever thought about finding a new boyfriend?" Keith Hughes put down his coffee and inquired tentatively.

Originally thinking Seraphina Sinclair would say no, who knew she would nod slightly, "You’re not entirely wrong, perhaps only that way can I forget completely."

Keith Hughes’s eyes brightened slightly and continued to ask, "Do you have someone suitable in mind now? Or is there a man you have your eye on? If so, as your senior, I can always be your wingman."

"You haven’t even gotten your girlfriend yet and you’re worrying about my affairs." Seraphina Sinclair teased him, "You should wait until you’ve successfully pursued that lady before talking about my issues."

"We can be each other’s strategists, right? After all, compared to you, I as a man, understand men’s preferences better, don’t I?" Keith Hughes looked at Seraphina Sinclair with anticipation, as if he would go all out to help her if she nodded.

Seraphina Sinclair, however, smiled helplessly, "I don’t have a target yet, or although I think that way, I actually haven’t planned to take any action. After all, I’m with Jude. Even if someone is willing to be with me, it definitely won’t be because they love me."

A relationship built on interests, she would rather not have.

"Anyway, don’t think too much. If you’re really unhappy, just tell me. In these years, as your senior, although I haven’t learned much, I’m certainly skilled in eating, drinking, and having fun. There’s nothing a hotpot can’t solve, if one can’t, then two or three or ten definitely will."

Keith Hughes flashed a sweet smile that was as delicate as a doll’s, and the whole person seemed to be bathed in holy light, like an angel sent by heaven to save Seraphina Sinclair.

For some reason, just by looking at Keith Hughes’s smiling face, Seraphina Sinclair felt healed.

She snapped back to her senses, realizing that she once again began to feel maternal love overwhelming her, taking on a look of care that she shouldn’t have toward someone who was her senior.

"Senior, if you have something to do, don’t force yourself to stay with me. You should also ignore what Fiona Dunn said." Seraphina Sinclair sensed her own impropriety and quickly coughed twice to relieve the awkwardness.

"The most important thing for me is eating, drinking, and having fun, which I’m currently doing." Keith Hughes shrugged indifferently, indicating he was a free man without anything to do.

Since Keith Hughes had already spoken, Seraphina Sinclair couldn’t force herself to drive him away. She could only sit quietly again.

The two started talking about old school days, reminiscing about the youthful times, recalling many funny and ridiculous anecdotes.

Keith Hughes was humorous and talkative, and combined with that pretty face that could always make various cute expressions, he had Seraphina Sinclair laughing exuberantly.

Just as the two were happily chatting, Seraphina Sinclair felt the air around her suddenly drop several degrees, making her shiver.

Immediately, her head was overshadowed, and the lights suddenly dimmed.

She looked up and met Desmond Fairchild’s eyes, cold as ice.

Her originally smiling lips suddenly subdued, her gaze also grew cold.

Desmond Fairchild didn’t seem intent to leave, quietly lingering beside Seraphina Sinclair’s seat, his sharp eyes fixed coldly on Keith Hughes.

Keith Hughes’s lips subtly curved upwards, a faintly playful expression crossed his clear eyes.

"May I ask who you are?" The playful expression quickly disappeared, his clear eyes carrying a hint of curiosity as he asked Desmond Fairchild.

"That’s a question I should be asking you." The icy voice was suffused with ample pressure.

Keith Hughes awkwardly smiled, introducing himself, "Hello, I’m Keith Hughes, Seraphina’s senior. Who might you be?"

Seeing Keith Hughes intimidated by Desmond Fairchild’s icy gaze, Seraphina Sinclair frowned and said coldly, "President Fairchild, please step aside, you’re disrupting our meal."

"Who is he?" Desmond Fairchild didn’t respond to Keith Hughes, his gaze targeted at Seraphina Sinclair.

"What does it matter to you who he is? What are you to me? Why meddle so much?" Seraphina Sinclair almost laughed out of anger, already broken up and still trying to interfere?

Keith Hughes watched Seraphina Sinclair and Desmond Fairchild’s interaction, seemingly wanting to intervene, but the tense atmosphere between the two left him with no opportunity to speak.

Desmond Fairchild stared unwaveringly at Seraphina Sinclair’s face, his tone growing more arrogant, "I’m asking you, who is he?"

Seraphina Sinclair, perhaps out of anger or for some other reason, coldly laughed at Desmond Fairchild, "Since you insist on asking, then I’ll tell you. He’s Keith Hughes, my boyfriend, so get as far away as possible if you have nothing, and don’t interfere with our date, okay?"

"Boyfriend?" Desmond Fairchild’s narrowed eyes revealed a hint of danger, his aura oppressive as he looked at Keith Hughes, "Are you her boyfriend?"

Keith Hughes’s lips, concealed under his palm, subtly curved upwards, portraying a look of grievance and pity, "Yes, I am Seraphina’s boyfriend. Please don’t disturb our meal."
