Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 283: Negative News Arrives
CHAPTER 283: CHAPTER 283: NEGATIVE NEWS ARRIVES
"What are you still sleeping for, hurry and watch the news report, oh my god! Nina Kerr is notorious now!" Fiona Dunn was so excited, she could hardly stop herself from jumping seven feet high.
Rosalie Quinn rubbed her sleepy eyes, covered her mouth, and yawned. It took a long time before she lazily propped herself up on the bed, her voice weak: "What news is this!"
As she spoke, the drowsiness hit her again, and she yawned once more.
Looking at the clock by the bed, it was only five in the morning!
Rosalie thought if Fiona didn’t have a good reason, she would definitely give her a good beating today.
Fiona was so excited that she couldn’t speak properly and directly threw her phone at Rosalie’s face: "Look, look!"
Rosalie had only gone to sleep at two or three in the morning, so she was just freshly dozing off when Fiona woke her. She only wanted to go back to sleep; even opening her eyes was an effort, let alone looking at a phone.
She forcibly suppressed her inner annoyance and glanced at the news content.
As she read, her previously bleary eyes widened, her mouth gaping open.
Seeing her facial expression, Fiona’s mood improved even further: "How is it, isn’t it exciting! My gosh, I didn’t expect Seraphina Sinclair to act so quickly? In such a short time, the views have already exceeded two million, and most of the comments are scolding Nina Kerr, it’s beyond awesome."
Rosalie suddenly sat up in bed, her expression shifting from confusion to delight: "This, this is explosive! How did Seraphina do it!?"
"I don’t know how Seraphina Sinclair did it, I just know Nina Kerr definitely can’t sleep now," Fiona laughed heartily, completely indulging in the pleasure of revenge.
As she said, Nina was looking at the overwhelming negative news online, her face twisted into a scowl, as ferocious as could be, without a shred of her usual ladylike demeanor.
"Quickly investigate! Who on earth had the ability to dig up all this old dirt on me?" Nina was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, immediately calling her public relations department for damage control.
Unfortunately, the situation seemed premeditated; no matter how the PR team tried, the negative news couldn’t be deleted; instead, it continued to ferment!
It was obvious someone was pulling strings behind the scenes, and Nina, as shrewd as she was, knew this all too well.
As the princess of Diamond Island, if her pure image was ruined, it was likely even the patriarch of the White Family would sever ties with her. She was very aware of the predicament she would face without their protection.
She couldn’t let herself be vulnerable like this.
"Desmond Fairchild, you have to help me." Nina spoke to Desmond with a tone of assurance over the phone.
Desmond’s voice was devoid of any emotion: "And the reason?"
"Aren’t you with me to protect Seraphina Sinclair? If I give up entirely, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see that outcome either." Nina said what needed to be said, stopping just short of over-explaining.
The other end of the line was silent for a long time before Desmond slowly responded with a single word of agreement.
Nina’s frown dissipated, lifting her spirits somewhat.
In truth, without Desmond’s help, she could still handle the matter. However, she wasn’t as capable as Desmond, and resolving the issue might take some detours, during which her reputation would suffer. Even if she salvaged some through her own efforts, there would still be plenty of critics.
But as Diamond Island’s princess, she couldn’t allow such a thing to happen.
It was best to resolve it quickly and prevent further escalation if possible.
Rosalie and Fiona were still happily watching the news, when suddenly the website wouldn’t load. Fiona frowned, puzzled: "Hey? Is it my phone signal that’s gone? Why did the website suddenly stop working?"
"Aren’t you on a 5G signal? Why wouldn’t it load?" Rosalie glanced at her phone, suggesting, "Maybe too many people are browsing and it’s overloaded, try going in again?"
"Yeah, I’ll try logging back in." Fiona patted her head, exited the page, and opened it again.
However, the website still wouldn’t load, consistently showing a network error.
She didn’t understand where the problem was, feeling a bit troubled for a moment.
"Finally got to see that old woman’s negative news, maybe someone hacked the site?" Fiona’s face darkened at the thought. She hadn’t even finished reading the news, and it disappeared not long after being posted?
"It’s not impossible. Nina Kerr is, after all, the princess of Diamond Island with plenty of die-hard fans, and there’s Austin White," Rosalie sighed. Though she wasn’t sure if Austin was involved in this, it seemed likely that someone connected was helping Nina manage these issues.
At this thought, her expression turned grim: "If Austin sides with Nina, how sad would that be for Seraphina."
"No way. Although those three brothers have always liked Nina, such news about her promiscuity can’t be hidden from young Austin. If they investigate, they’ll know the truth. The three of them aren’t fools; if they know the truth yet still support Nina, it can only mean something’s wrong with their heads."
Fiona was always straightforward; if Joel backed Nina after knowing the truth, she, as his fiancée, would be the first to express dissatisfaction.
Rosalie nodded in agreement: "That’s true. Besides Austin, who else has the ability to do this? If it were just Nina alone, managing news with millions of views wouldn’t be so easy."
"I don’t know either. Who would have thought Nina has such loyal followers? Why would such a powerful man help her? Is he truly brainless?" Fiona couldn’t understand.
To settle such a severe issue instantly, the power must be immense. If not immense power, then immense wealth, whichever the case, it’s exceptional beyond measure.
Such an outstanding person, getting involved with someone like Nina, truly wasn’t afraid of lowering their worth.
Hearing Fiona’s rant, Rosalie seemed to recall something.
Back when Seraphina’s negative news broke out, Desmond resolved it astonishingly fast as well. If it was him this time, it might not be impossible.
If that’s the case, Rosalie could already foresee the upcoming trend of events.
While Fiona continued muttering to herself, Rosalie had already gotten out of bed and headed to Seraphina Sinclair’s room. Despite it being five or six in the morning, Seraphina wasn’t in her room but up in the study.
Hearing footsteps by the door, Seraphina calmly said, "Come in."
"Seraphina, why aren’t you sleeping?" Rosalie handed her a cup of hot milk, "You’ve just had a procedure, your body isn’t well; why are you staying up late?"
"What do you think about the Nina Kerr incident?" Seraphina took the milk, calmly taking a sip, her face showing no discomfort at all.
