Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 289: Shopping at the Mall
CHAPTER 289: CHAPTER 289: SHOPPING AT THE MALL
"Why not Cloudsea Group?" Seraphina Sinclair’s expression remained unchanged, as if the word ’Fairchild’ no longer impressed her.
"This charity auction isn’t hosted by Cloudsea Group, but rather in Old Mrs. Fairchild’s private name. It’s said she’s using this opportunity to find a wife for one of the grandsons of the Fairchild Family."
Rosalie Quinn couldn’t help but mock, "Why say grandsons? Isn’t Desmond Fairchild the only grandson in their family? Desmond already has Nina, yet Old Mrs. Fairchild goes to such lengths to organize this auction; it seems she has quite an opinion about Nina."
"They’re not limited to just Desmond among their grandsons." Seraphina Sinclair put down the ticket, rubbed her somewhat throbbing temples, "Even if it’s a matchmaking party for Desmond, we must attend."
Rosalie Quinn chuckled, "I knew you wouldn’t let romantic entanglements delay work. Besides, this auction will definitely attract many eligible men; we can also pick and choose."
"I’m not interested." Seraphina Sinclair yawned, waved her hand at Rosalie Quinn, "I’ll sleep for a while first, you can go out."
Rosalie Quinn nodded, "Alright, I’m heading out then. We’ll go buy dresses tomorrow afternoon."
"Mm." Seraphina Sinclair replied faintly, her eyes closed.
When Fiona Dunn heard that Seraphina Sinclair was attending the auction, she was thrilled.
Early the next morning, she rushed over to Seraphina Sinclair’s place, pulling her outside.
Seraphina Sinclair, pregnant for five months, wasn’t feeling well in terms of energy and was always extraordinarily sleepy. After taking the traditional medicine to stabilize the pregnancy, she felt even more drowsy.
She planned to sleep in a bit and then go dress shopping with Rosalie Quinn and the others in the afternoon. Who knew Fiona Dunn was like a whirlwind and wanted to go out shopping early in the morning.
Seraphina Sinclair and Rosalie Quinn, weary and with dark circles under their eyes, arrived at the mall.
Staring at the tightly shut doors of the mall, Rosalie Quinn’s morning temper finally burst, "Fiona Dunn, are you out of your mind? What time is it? The mall hasn’t even opened yet; why did you bring us to shop?"
"It’s already eight o’clock, isn’t it? These malls are too lazy; it’s this time already, and it’s still not open." Fiona Dunn kicked the mall door, pouting, complaining, but she couldn’t be blamed, could she? It was the mall that opened too late.
Rosalie Quinn pulled Seraphina Sinclair into a roadside breakfast shop, even though they weren’t hungry, they needed somewhere to sit and wait for the mall to open.
Both Rosalie Quinn and Seraphina Sinclair sat down and simultaneously yawned, clearly very tired.
As for Fiona Dunn, she was inexplicably excited, even though it was just attending a charity auction. She was restless, unable to calm down.
With a bright smile, she said to the breakfast shop owner, "Boss, three bowls of white fungus porridge, a plate of potstickers, and oh, your fried dough sticks are delicious, bring two as well."
"Sure thing!" The boss replied cheerfully.
"Seems like you’re a regular here?" Rosalie Quinn yawned again, truly tired.
Fiona Dunn chortled, "I used to come here often for breakfast while shopping. This shop’s fried dough sticks are really tasty; once you try them, you’ll want more."
Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t picky about food, eating whatever was available, so she didn’t want to engage in this topic.
But as it turned out, Fiona Dunn was right. The breakfasts at this shop were indeed splendid. Not just the fried dough sticks, even the white fungus porridge was much tastier than those from regular breakfast stalls.
Originally, the early rising Seraphina Sinclair had little appetite, but ended up drinking two bowls.
Time didn’t pass too slowly, and after breakfast, the mall was open. Fiona Dunn beckoned to the two, rushing into the mall like a bird freed from its cage.
This mall was the most famous department store on Diamond Island.
On the top floor was a dress customization shop, particularly popular among the socialites of Diamond Island.
Many of Fiona Dunn’s dresses were custom-made here, even Rosalie Quinn, an outsider, had purchased many clothes here.
This was why, dragged over early in the morning by Fiona Dunn, they were not too upset.
Attending a charity auction differs from a regular cocktail party. At cocktail parties, you can wear the fanciest outfits. At charity auctions, it’s best to keep low-key. Although Seraphina Sinclair had many dresses, none seemed quite suitable for a charity auction.
Old Mrs. Fairchild was a pleasant person, and she believed in Buddhist practices ordinarily. Despite breaking up with Desmond, Seraphina didn’t want to embarrass Old Mrs. Fairchild at the auction.
The dress shop had always opened early, and there were people even more anxious than Fiona Dunn and her friends.
The auction was the next day; custom-made dresses were clearly something they wouldn’t have time for. Thankfully, both Seraphina Sinclair and Rosalie Quinn had remarkable figures; even wearing something casually, they could outshine the rest. As for Fiona Dunn, her petite stature meant those long dresses meant to appear noble and elegant weren’t her style.
Seeing Seraphina Sinclair and Rosalie Quinn come out always dressed so stylishly, Fiona Dunn inexplicably felt angry.
Looking at her own knee-length frock, Fiona Dunn pouted and complained to Seraphina Sinclair, "Why do you two look good in anything, while no matter what I wear, I seem like a child stealing adult clothing?"
"Who told you to be so short?" Rosalie Quinn gestured at the disparity between them; the 160cm tall Fiona Dunn looked like a child before them.
Seraphina Sinclair glanced at Fiona Dunn’s frock, coolly complimenting, "This one’s not bad."
"It’s fine, but I always wear this style; I feel like it lacks femininity. No wonder Joel is indifferent to me; men surely like your kind with curves." Fiona Dunn longingly gazed at Seraphina Sinclair.
Taller than 170cm, without any excess fat, merely wearing a solid-color long dress seemed so intellectual and graceful, every gesture brimming with charm.
It really was infuriating!
Rosalie Quinn was amused by Fiona Dunn’s words, giggling, "Little girl, you’re only twenty; there’s still a chance to have curves. Many envy your plump, collagen-rich face and youthful vigor; you’re already very cute."
"But Joel doesn’t like cute." Fiona Dunn sulkily tugged at her dress.
"How do you know he doesn’t like it?" Seraphina Sinclair recalled Joel’s gaze towards Fiona Dunn; saying he didn’t like was too far-fetched.
"He’s never said he likes me." Fiona Dunn puffed up in anger; from childhood to adulthood, Joel had never uttered a word suggesting he liked her.
Seraphina Sinclair didn’t say anything, her eyes scanning around before handing Fiona Dunn a puff-sleeved U-neck long dress, "Try this."
Seeing Seraphina Sinclair’s serious eyes, not joking, Fiona Dunn headed to the fitting room to change clothes, but laughter echoed in her ear, "Still want to wear a long dress when you’re so short, planning to play one of the Seven Dwarfs?"
