Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 291: Wendy Warren’s Timidity
CHAPTER 291: CHAPTER 291: WENDY WARREN’S TIMIDITY
Seraphina Sinclair just stood there quietly, not saying a word, nor refuting.
Shannon Warren thought she’d hit the mark and got more excited, "I don’t know what there’s to be proud of mingling with people like this every day. Fiona Dunn, if I were you, I’d find some tofu to kill myself with."
There’s no denying Shannon Warren might not be good at other things, but when it comes to imagination, no one can match her.
Fiona Dunn turned to look at Seraphina Sinclair, nearly unable to hold back her laughter.
With the aura Seraphina Sinclair has, does she look like a pauper in any way?
Speaking of money, Fiona Dunn wouldn’t dare compare herself with Seraphina Sinclair. On Diamond Island, who would dare claim they’re wealthier than Seraphina Sinclair without sounding insane?
"I say, Shannon Warren, actually Su... "
"Fiona Dunn, that’s the extent of your vision. No wonder everyone says you lack the grace of a lady and aren’t fit to be a Dunn Family lady, hanging out with folks from the slums all day. What prospects can you possibly have?"
Seeing everyone fall silent, Shannon Warren assumed Fiona Dunn couldn’t out-talk her and went on a rampage dissing Seraphina Sinclair and Fiona Dunn.
Among the onlookers, most were familiar with Seraphina Sinclair, and someone couldn’t help muttering, "This Miss Warren really must be from the countryside, not recognizing President Sinclair and shamelessly calling her a slum dweller? If President Sinclair is considered slum, then aren’t we all unworthy of even begging?"
On Diamond Island, many people recognize Seraphina Sinclair. Anyone even slightly interested in finance news knows she’s a tycoon among tycoons in Diamond Island’s commercial chain.
Only someone uneducated and self-important like Shannon Warren would demean Seraphina Sinclair in the dirt.
Someone chimed in, "Indeed, Miss Dunn is smarter than anyone, having established a relationship with President Sinclair early on. Many have been seeking cooperation with President Sinclair lately, yet our company hasn’t caught her eye."
Seraphina Sinclair’s reputation speaks for itself. Rising from scratch in just a few years to become the youngest and wealthiest female CEO on Diamond Island—who wouldn’t want to connect with her?
As people continued discussing, many discreetly laughed at Shannon Warren. What a disgrace she’s made of herself.
It’s true that Shannon Warren isn’t the brightest, but she has sharp ears. Hearing the soft whispers, her face felt hot and flushed with embarrassment.
She quietly tugged at Wendy Warren, lowering her voice to whisper, "Is that Seraphina Sinclair?"
"Mm." Wendy Warren nodded timidly.
"Why didn’t you tell me? Are you deliberately trying to make me a fool?" Furious, Shannon Warren twisted Wendy Warren’s arm hard, causing her to cry out in pain.
Not daring to talk back, Wendy Warren could only weakly retreated two steps, her voice as tiny as a mosquito’s: "You, you never asked me."
"You little brat, you think you have a point, don’t you?" Shannon Warren raised her hand, intending to slap Wendy Warren.
But Seraphina Sinclair intercepted her just in time, gripping Shannon Warren’s slender wrist, her calm and indifferent face revealing a hint of disdain, "So this is the Warren family’s upbringing?"
"How I educate my sister is none of your business. You’d better not meddle, or I’ll hit you too!" Stopped in her fury, Shannon Warren’s temper flared, trying to shake off Seraphina Sinclair’s hold to make a move.
But she was no match for Seraphina Sinclair. Let alone hitting her, she couldn’t even break free from Seraphina’s grip.
Upset and angry, her face turned a shade of dark red, "Let go of me!"
"And if I don’t?" Seraphina Sinclair slightly tightened her grip on Shannon Warren’s hand.
"Help! Someone’s hitting me!" Shannon Warren cried out, her face twisted in pain, any semblance of a noblewoman gone.
Yet, no matter how loudly she shouted, no one stepped forward to speak up for her. Who would dare intervene? The Warrens aren’t as significant as the Dunns in the first place, and now they’ve offended Seraphina and even the White Family behind her.
With such triple pressure present, who’d dare have the guts to rescue her from Seraphina Sinclair’s watchful eyes?
Besides, Shannon Warren is known to be a bit of an airhead. None wanted any association with her, lowering their own status.
Yet, Wendy Warren bore no grudge and stepped forward to speak for her. She looked timidly at Seraphina Sinclair and spoke softly, "Could you please let go of my sister?"
"After she treated you that way, you’re still pleading for her?" Seraphina Sinclair’s lips curled into a slight smile, uncertain what expression to show.
"It’s okay; I don’t mind at all." Wendy Warren shook her head firmly, seeming unconcerned by Shannon Warren’s actions.
Since Wendy had said so, Seraphina Sinclair said nothing more and released Shannon Warren readily.
Todays’ instance of Shannon poking her nose at Seraphina didn’t bother her much; she just disapproved of Shannon bullying Wendy. Now that Wendy herself claims not to mind, Seraphina, as an outsider, deemed it unnecessary to interfere more.
Letting go of Shannon Warren’s hand, Seraphina Sinclair said to Rosalie Quinn and Fiona Dunn, "Let’s go check over there."
Fiona Dunn didn’t want to argue with someone like Shannon Warren either, so she dropped her gown and followed Seraphina away.
Just like that, the crowd quickly scattered, uninterested in the condition of Shannon Warren’s wrist, except for Wendy Warren, who showed concern, "Sister, are you okay?"
"Get lost!" Shannon Warren couldn’t stand Wendy watching her embarrassment; her concern only sickened her. She viciously shoved Wendy down, "Are you laughing inside, Wendy? Think you’re lucky today since someone helped you? Just wait till we get home, and I won’t let you off!"
Wendy Warren lowered her head, refraining from speaking back.
Meanwhile, Seraphina and her friends had gone far away, with Fiona Dunn disdainfully commenting, "Wendy Warren really doesn’t know who’s good for her. Even when we tried to help, she stood up for Shannon Warren, deservedly getting bullied."
Fiona couldn’t stand people like that. Typically, she found the saying ’the seemingly pitiful often have detestable traits’ made no sense. But today, she realized it’s somewhat true. If Wendy would just stand up for herself, she wouldn’t suffer to this extent.
"Other people’s affairs aren’t our concern. Have you found a gown you like? Once chosen, let’s pay and head back. Jude’s home alone, we should return." Seraphina showed no interest in the squabbles between the Warren sisters, only wishing to return home quickly to her son.
"Got it." Knowing Seraphina didn’t want to continue on this topic, Fiona stopped herself and obediently went to pick a gown.
Being petite, not blessed like Rosalie and Seraphina with an easy fit, Fiona took over two hours to find one she liked that also fit well.
Just about to pay when out of the corner of her eye, she saw two familiar figures.
Wasn’t that Nina Kerr and Desmond Fairchild?
Oh no.
Why are they here? If Seraphina sees them, it’s over!
