CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32: AUNTIE

Jude quickly handed over an ice cream to change the subject, saying, "I couldn’t hold it, I only bought one for you two, you can share it."

Desmond and Jude exchanged a glance, took the ice cream, and gave it directly to Seraphina. Without much thought, Seraphina took a bite while it was still in his hand. Desmond took it back immediately and fed it to himself, nodding, "Not bad."

Seraphina belatedly realized what had happened, and a slight, unnatural blush crept up her cheeks.

Joyland Park had many attractions, and they didn’t feel fully satisfied until 3 p.m.

After dinner, Jude suggested, "Mom, couples always go to the movies together; how about we go once too?"

"Isn’t the private theater at home enough for you?" Seraphina was tired after a long day.

"It’s rare that we get to spend a day out. Let’s go home a bit later, Mom. I have to go to school tomorrow, and Dad has to work. You’ll have no more time to be with me later." Jude used his tried-and-true pleading tactic again.

Desmond didn’t speak, holding his phone and pressing something. Then, he spoke softly, "Tickets for 6 o’clock, we can still make it if we go now."

He used to disdain places like movie theaters, but today, to accompany Seraphina and Jude, he made an exception.

"We have half an hour, just enough time, let’s hurry." Jude didn’t give Seraphina a chance to object, pulling her along as he ran.

The theater was on the next street. When they got there, there were still fifteen minutes until the movie started.

Desmond took the tickets and gently said to the mother and son, "Wait for me a moment, I’ll be right back."

Thinking he was going to the restroom, Seraphina didn’t think much of it and stood with Jude at the entrance.

But instead of Desmond, someone unexpected arrived.

Ever since Shirley learned that Desmond had a girlfriend and a child, she secretly had someone investigate Seraphina’s background.

Unexpectedly, she noticed this woman in front of the theater looked a bit familiar. Upon seeing Jude’s face, it all became clear.

Seeing Seraphina dressed in a plain T-shirt and shorts, standing at the entrance of a regular screening room, she couldn’t help but mock, "Oh? You’re the woman Young Master Fairchild keeps outside, aren’t you? How come you’ve fallen to watching movies in such a place? Didn’t Young Master Fairchild accompany you? Are you lonely, bringing a child by yourself?"

"Mom, who is this lady?" Jude blinked, looking up bewilderedly, mumbling, "Could she be Aunt Sue’s relative? They look alike, wearing the same clothes."

"Who’s a lady? You little brat, are you blind?" Shirley’s brows furrowed tightly, her tone instantly turning nasty, "Who’s Aunt Sue? How dare you compare people like that with me? How did your mother teach you? Can you talk?"

Jude pretended to be startled and quickly hid behind Seraphina, sticking out his little head and complaining pitifully, "Aunt Sue is our housekeeper. You don’t look as good as Aunt Sue; if not a lady, what are you?"

Shirley was furious, most unable to bear people commenting on her attire and looks. Now the little thing compared her to a housekeeper, which directly hit her nerve.

She didn’t care if anyone was present, or whether the other party was a child, "Brat, an illegitimate child so arrogant, I’ll make you stop talking nonsense! Who did you say looks like a housekeeper? Believe it or not, I’ll beat you to death! How can you have no manners?"

She raised her hand, ready to slap.

Unfortunately for her, the slap was intercepted mid-air by a strong arm. She was burning with anger, and she cursed at the person who stopped her, "Who has the guts to meddle in my business? Do you know who I am?"
