Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 33: Overaged Leech
CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: OVERAGED LEECH
Before the words could fully exit his mouth, Desmond Fairchild’s grip on Shirley Lynch intensified slightly, causing her to grimace in pain.
The term "illegitimate child" instantly hardened Seraphina Sinclair’s expression. Seraphina sneered as she spoke, "Miss Lynch, you come from a noble background, being the eldest daughter of the Lynch family. So, does that mean you can casually call others illegitimate children?"
Seeing Shirley Lynch’s face pale in agony, Desmond Fairchild finally released her, pulling out a tissue to wipe his hands as if he had touched something dirty.
"You, you... a child born out of wedlock, what else is he if not an illegitimate child?" Shirley Lynch, though in unbearable pain, remained unyielding.
"Shirley Lynch!" The temperature around Desmond Fairchild seemed to drop several degrees.
Considering the connections between the Lynch family and the Fairchild family, it was no surprise Old Mrs. Fairchild previously attempted to bring the two together. Desmond Fairchild, out of respect for Old Master Lynch, initially chose not to hold it against her, but Shirley Lynch’s arrogance had gone too far.
Fueled by rage, Shirley Lynch wasn’t afraid; instead, she was even more smug, "Hasn’t Grandma Fairchild still not acknowledged you all? Otherwise, why would she arrange for Desmond to meet me for a marriage proposition? You think he’s not an illegitimate child? And you, you’re Seraphina Sinclair, right? A woman divorced and bearing an illegitimate child; no wonder Grandma Fairchild refuses to recognize your status!"
Shirley Lynch had investigated Seraphina Sinclair’s background, naturally uncovering the scandalous affair from five years ago. Saying these words now, she found immense satisfaction.
Seraphina Sinclair could least tolerate others speaking of Jude Sinclair, yet every word Shirley said was true, making it irrefutable. Seraphina’s body turned cold, her demeanor icy and proud, her red lips slightly curled as she contemptuously pointed and questioned Desmond Fairchild.
"Desmond Fairchild, who is this?"
Desmond Fairchild stepped forward, his thick brows faintly furrowed, and softly responded to Seraphina, "This is Miss Lynch."
Seraphina Sinclair bit her lip, a fury igniting within her.
Alright, Desmond Fairchild, daring to go behind her back for matchmaking!
The next moment, Jude Sinclair stepped forward, holding Seraphina’s trembling hand to steady her while his other hand rested in his pocket, his small face cold, mirroring Desmond’s furious demeanor.
"This lady here, nearly thirty and still matchmaking, relentlessly latching onto a married man. Wasn’t the uncle who planned to see a movie with you today scared off by your disgraceful behavior just now?"
Upon hearing this, Shirley Lynch instinctively turned her head, only to find the man who accompanied her had indeed disappeared.
Jude Sinclair continued, "Furthermore, in today’s society, marriage and divorce are quite normal. If two people no longer love each other, parting ways promptly is the right decision. I don’t see that as a reason for you to attack my mommy. My mommy raised me all by herself, which is her ability, far better than a leech like you who can’t even support herself with her spoiled princess attitude. No wonder nobody wants you."
Every word from Jude Sinclair was incisive, causing Shirley Lynch’s face to alternately flush red and pale.
"Miss Lynch concerns herself with far too much. If she is willing, I am prepared to marry her at any time," Desmond Fairchild retorted, glancing at Shirley Lynch’s complexion with a cold chuckle, "Hopefully, The Lynches can all show up safe and sound!"
Hearing Desmond Fairchild’s implicit threat, Shirley Lynch’s face turned ashen, belatedly realizing Desmond’s intention to protect was unmistakably evident, far from disowning the child.
At that moment, she had actually insulted Desmond’s child. Although The Lynches were not small, they were undoubtedly a mismatch against Cloudsea Group, akin to a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
Just as Shirley Lynch intended to admit her mistake, a slap landed with a resounding "smack," leaving her dazed and bewildered.
