CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: BUYING A PINK DIAMOND FOR YOU

As soon as the two took their seats, the auction host stood on the stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome everyone to this event by..."

"If there’s anything you fancy, just say it, I’ll buy it for you, after all, it’s for charity." Seraphina spoke boldly.

We’ve got everything but money! If we don’t spend it this month, next month’s dividends will roll in again!

Spending money is so hard.

"No need, having you is enough. See if there’s anything you like." Desmond spoke softly.

Under the dim lights, the man’s voice was deep and magnetic, his eyes fixated on her as if gazing at a precious jewel.

Suddenly, Seraphina felt her heartbeat accelerating, her pulse getting louder, making it impossible to hear what was being said on stage.

She turned her face away carelessly, though her thoughts had already drifted far, Desmond noticed her shy demeanor, curled his lips, and sat upright to focus on the host’s introduction.

As each auction item went by, Seraphina sat there feeling quite bored and a little weary.

Desmond heard Seraphina’s voice and raised his paddle without a second thought: "Three million five hundred thousand."

"You like it?" Seraphina turned her head towards Desmond, speaking with some curiosity.

Pink diamonds are generally popular with girls, why would Desmond be interested?

"Seeing you like it, I’ll buy it for you." Desmond shook his head, speaking lightly, as if spending wasn’t three million but three hundred.

"That’s more than a month’s salary, you really don’t have to..." Seraphina was somewhat amused and exasperated, though she spends millions to support Desmond, yet he’s taking money from his own pocket.

"Six million!"

A crisp female voice suddenly interrupted Seraphina and Desmond’s conversation.

Seraphina turned her head to meet Shirley Lynch’s gaze.

Shirley Lynch’s lips curled into a smug smile as she confidently faced Seraphina’s direction.

This is a showdown against me? Seraphina shook her head.

"If it’s liked, then buy it. I’ll pay." Seraphina couldn’t help but find it amusing.

"Seven million." Desmond nodded, continuing to raise the paddle, casually placing the bid, also somewhat curious about what Seraphina intended to do.
