Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 57: Worry
CHAPTER 57: CHAPTER 57: WORRY
Just as Jude Sinclair was about to continue questioning, he heard the villa door suddenly sound, giving him a big fright. Afraid of waking Seraphina, he lowered his voice and asked.
But there was no response.
"What’s going on?"
Jude slipped quietly to the door with the phone, peeking through the crack to look outside, whispering, "Someone has sneaked in through the front door, seems like a thief! Dad, I’m a little scared."
Jude’s voice was low, unusually tinged with fear.
"What happened?" Desmond Fairchild heard Jude’s trembling voice, his heart tightened, and he could no longer sit still. He hurriedly dressed, not forgetting to comfort him, "Don’t be afraid, don’t hang up the phone, I’ll be home soon."
But only the busy tone came from the other end of the phone, Jude’s voice was isolated on the other side.
His heart abruptly skipped a beat, Desmond hurried to the car, and in the dark night, the car sped out like a furious beast.
Half an hour later, at the gate of Azure Cloud Shores, Desmond didn’t even have time to park properly before rushing into the house. The house was quiet, only Seraphina’s room had its door wide open.
Desmond grew more anxious, had someone already gotten into the house? He quickly went upstairs and turned on the lights.
"Snap." In an instant, the soft light poured down, illuminating the bedroom clearly.
The anticipated bad situation didn’t occur. In the center of the bed, Seraphina’s chest rose and fell gently, she was sleeping peacefully.
Her profile was clean and delicate. Upon hearing the sound, her eyelashes fluttered and she opened her eyes slightly confused.
A man’s slightly embarrassed figure suddenly appeared in her view, Seraphina was startled, "Why did you suddenly..."
The last few words weren’t fully spoken before her vision blurred, and she was tightly held in the man’s arms.
A strong scent of alcohol lingered around her nose, she heard the sound of a rapid heartbeat in her ears, intense as if about to leap out of the chest. Seraphina’s mind, still muddled, now cleared completely.
She opened her mouth and asked, "Did something happen?"
He wasn’t a rash person, could it be an unexpected situation he couldn’t handle?
Thinking this, her beautiful brows furrowed slightly, Desmond heard her words, but just tightened his hold on her.
He exhaled deeply, only then realizing his entire back was unknowingly soaked in cold sweat.
In his arms was a soft, gentle bundle, he closed his eyes briefly, his voice low, "Don’t talk, let me hold you."
The person in his arms complied with his request, after a while, the man released her.
He moved back slightly, his expression returning to normal. His deep eyes looked at her as if trying to engrave her into his bones. Seraphina smoothed out her crumpled clothes, softened her tone, "What exactly happened, can you tell me now?"
The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, "I got a call from Jude, he said someone had broken into the front door, like a thief, and your room’s door was also open with the light on when I arrived. I thought..."
The last few words carried a touch of coldness, recalling the scene from that time still made Desmond’s heart tighten.
Hearing this, Seraphina’s pupils shrank suddenly, she instinctively lifted the covers, "A thief? Where’s Jude? No, I have to go see him."
Today she had let her mind wander, and to control it, she went to bed early. In her room, she didn’t notice anything unusual, but if that person and Jude met, who knows what might happen.
Although Jude was very smart, he was still a child. What if something unexpected happened?
Just as she was about to get up, her arm was pressed down by a warm hand, Desmond’s peripheral vision caught sight of the small, sneaky head by the door.
