Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!
Chapter 98: Black Screen
CHAPTER 98: CHAPTER 98: BLACK SCREEN
Austin White nodded immediately after hearing Seraphina Sinclair’s words, his gaze darkening: "Godmother, rest assured, I will definitely find that person!"
Dare to have ulterior motives against his godmother, are they tired of living?
After agreeing with Austin, Seraphina Sinclair began her plan. Before leaving work, she first called Austin, then left the office and headed to the parking lot to get her car as usual.
Austin was already lurking on one side of the parking lot at this time.
When Seraphina reached the parking lot, Austin, hiding in the corner, indeed noticed the owner of the car in front of him took out his phone and, under the faint light, Austin could see he was secretly photographing Seraphina!
Austin locked onto his target and followed them both on the road Seraphina took.
What intrigued Austin was that the car did not follow Seraphina home but instead immediately turned elsewhere after leaving the parking lot.
Austin followed that car and discovered it had entered the Lloyd Group’s parking lot.
Suddenly, the phone on his passenger seat rang; he quickly pulled over to answer it.
"Austin, I just got home. That car didn’t seem to follow me back; what’s going on?" Just as she arrived home, Seraphina couldn’t wait to call Austin and inform him of all the events along the way in detail.
"Godmother, I’ll tell you everything when I get home." Austin didn’t divulge any useful information over the phone and simply hung up, then turned around and headed home.
Long ago, after knowing that Ethan Lloyd had personally killed Seraphina Sinclair’s father, Austin wanted to act against the Lloyd Family. If not for the fear of alerting them and ruining his godmother’s plan, he might have acted already.
But this time, Austin was determined to give that pair of Lloyd Family scoundrels what they deserved!
"Austin, what’s going on?" Seraphina was waiting in the living room when Austin arrived home.
Seeing Austin appear, Seraphina swiftly moved to the doorway, staring at him nervously.
"Godmother, I suspect Ethan sent someone to follow you. That car went into the Lloyd Group’s parking lot after leaving."
When Austin revealed this, Seraphina wasn’t too surprised, even showing a look of realization.
"I’m not surprised with that answer. After all, the Ethan couple haven’t been fond of me for years."
Knowing it was the Lloyd Family tracking her, Seraphina was not emotionally disturbed; instead, she remained calm.
If that’s the case, that makes things much easier. Seraphina only worried it was the same people from last time in the parking lot, an ordeal she’s truly unwilling to endure again.
"Godmother, aren’t you angry?"
Austin was curious at seeing Seraphina’s calm demeanor.
Seraphina raised an eyebrow and spoke nonchalantly: "What’s there to be angry about? That pair of scoundrels have been troubling me for years. If I truly got angry, I couldn’t live my life."
To battle Ethan Lloyd and Melanie Lloyd, one first needs a strong heart, never yielding to their dirty tricks.
"No way, who knows what they’re trying to do this time while tracking you? Even if you can forgive, I won’t let them off easily!"
Austin strongly disagreed with Seraphina’s view. Letting them be would only embolden them further.
Seeing Austin so furious, Seraphina couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding: "What are you planning? I’m warning you, don’t do anything foolish! Melanie and her crew never hold back."
"Godmother, there’s no need for you to worry. I assure you, tomorrow morning, the Lloyd Group’s stock will plummet!"
At that, Austin casually went upstairs to his room, leaving Seraphina pondering.
She was skeptical but had no real clues, so took Austin’s words as a joke.
Until the next morning, when all the financial news was reporting negative stories about the Lloyd Group, Seraphina realized Austin wasn’t joking.
On the other side, early in the morning, Ethan was just shy of losing his mind reading such news. He stormed into Melanie’s office and threw a tablet at her.
"Melanie, what have you done now? Didn’t I warn you not to act on your own? Why do you refuse to listen!"
Upon seeing the news, Ethan’s first thought was Melanie.
He was certain that Melanie had done something, causing the Lloyd Group to fall into crisis again.
"Honey, listen to me, I really didn’t do anything this time! I just had someone follow Seraphina Sinclair, worried she’d make some big move, nothing else..."
"You had someone follow Seraphina Sinclair? Are you idle? Is Desmond Fairchild someone who just sits around?" After hearing Melanie, Ethan was beyond furious.
He never expected Melanie to be so foolish!
At that moment, Melanie’s assistant burst in nervously: "President Lloyd, it’s not good; all the company’s computers have gone black!"
"What’s going on?" Ethan’s face turned dark upon hearing about the company’s computers.
Already vexed by the financial news, now hearing about the computer issue, he was on the brink.
"We’re not sure of the details, but this morning when we arrived, everyone’s screens were black, with a line of text..."
"What text?" Ethan promptly asked.
"Stay away from Kevin, or face the consequences."
After the assistant spoke, Ethan’s expression changed instantly. To have so easily breached the system meant that obtaining any data would be just as easy.
Apparently, Melanie had crossed a line this time.
"Honey, don’t be angry, I’ll handle it!"
Seeing Ethan’s changing face, Melanie quickly tried to appease him, affectionately wrapping his arm.
Ethan shrugged off Melanie’s hand, then sternly said: "I’ll give you only three days; if you can’t resolve this, just get out!"
Having gone through all this, Ethan had lost patience, feeling nothing but disdain for Melanie.
Meanwhile, Desmond Fairchild learned that Seraphina Sinclair had secretly gone to work and couldn’t help but worry. He headed straight to Kevin Group at noon, aiming to explore.
By coincidence, as Desmond arrived, he ran into Seraphina and Irene Rowe heading out for lunch.
"Boss, isn’t that President Fairchild?"
Irene and Seraphina had just stepped out of the company when they saw Desmond leaning on his Maybach, coldly watching them.
Seraphina looked mortified, staring at Desmond with dazed eyes, clearly not expecting his sudden visit.
Desmond truly did not want Seraphina to return to work and had reminded her multiple times to focus on healing. Unwilling to stir matters, Seraphina hadn’t informed him of her return to work, sneaking out quietly.
