CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 66: BOSS, PLEASE CARRY ME
Yu Xiaolian brought various snacks and returned to Mingxiang Pavilion again.
The shopkeeper Hai led her to the second floor, and she entered Zheng Yuanfeng’s room with familiarity.
She took out various snacks one by one and placed them on the table.
Braised duck wings, soy sauce flavor, spicy flavor, sweet and sour flavor — she brought a pack of each.
Of course, they were wrapped in oil paper. When she tore open the packaging, she wrote the flavor on the oil paper with a marker.
Drunken peanuts, in original flavor and spicy flavor.
Dried duck necks, also in several flavors.
Tofu slices, red sausages, garlic-flavored grilled sausages, crispy sausages, Goubangzi chicken feet, pickled pepper chicken feet, lemon chicken feet.
Spicy strips, duck tongues, braised eggs, canned fish, canned luncheon meat, spicy lotus root slices; these are all ready-to-eat snack foods once opened.
She had some items in her space that could be eaten after being heated in a microwave, but Yu Xiaolian didn’t plan to sell those just yet.
As Yu Xiaolian introduced each item, Zheng Yuanfeng tasted each one.
When he tried the spicy duck tongue, Zheng Yuanfeng gave high praise, saying it was delicious.
When he ate the sweet and sour duck neck, he said it wasn’t to his taste, finding the flavor strange.
Everyone’s tastes are different; Zheng Yuanfeng might not like sweet and sour flavors.
As there were too many types of snacks and flavors, Zheng Yuanfeng only tried a bite of each one before putting it down. Otherwise, he would have been full before trying them all.
"These could be used as bar snacks. We could arrange a few of them into a cold platter," Zheng Yuanfeng said as he wiped his hands with a handkerchief.
Yu Xiaolian smirked, thinking the handkerchief was wasted on that.
As he spoke, Zheng Yuanfeng pointed out a few items, "Cut the duck necks and combine them with duck wings and tongues for one platter. The different flavors of tofu can also be a platter. Slice the red sausages, garlic sausages, and crispy sausages, and make a platter..."
Yu Xiaolian didn’t expect him to remember the names of each item just from her introduction and come up with a sales plan so quickly.
Truly worthy of being a future tycoon; his mind is really sharp.
Zheng Yuanfeng talked eloquently, asking for Yu Xiaolian’s opinion, as the ingredients came from her and were made by her. They’ll split the profits 50/50 in the future, so her input on pricing is also essential.
Yu Xiaolian gestured for him to take charge, showing her complete trust and indicating she was just waiting for the money to roll in.
Zheng Yuanfeng had never seen a business person as laid-back as Yu Xiaolian. She wasn’t worried about anything, didn’t care much, and seemed indifferent even if her share was a little more or less.
Zheng Yuanfeng was a bit puzzled, as he didn’t think he was that close to Yu Xiaolian.
If it were someone else, Yu Xiaolian would certainly make sure the contract was crystal clear and discuss prices carefully.
But who was she dealing with?
The future wealthiest person in the nation—Master Shanyue!
To gain favor with the future billionaire, she had no opinions, only hoping that when the big guy dined well in the future, he wouldn’t forget to let her sip the soup.
The contract was drafted by Zheng Yuanfeng, and the small red handprint was placed by Yu Xiaolian.
Looking at the small red handprint, Yu Xiaolian felt incredibly excited inside.
A plea for support from the big shot!
Though she had a space supermarket, she couldn’t bring out items too conspicuous or attention-grabbing.
Relying solely on these snacks to get rich wasn’t very realistic.
But as long as she stuck with Zheng Yuanfeng in the future, she’d have big houses, luxury cars, and countless silver notes.
She might not be capable of anything else, but if she couldn’t even be a passive shareholder, she’d surely be a fool.
Go for it, little Yuanfeng!
After going home, Yu Xiaolian found a blank notebook to write down plans for a hotpot restaurant and a barbecue place.
She just needed to write down her ideas and hand over the hotpot base ingredients to Zheng Yuanfeng; there was nothing else she needed to handle.
She had hotpot base materials and dipping sauces. As for ingredients for the pot, she believed anything could be cooked this way.
Unfortunately, there were only beef rolls and lamb rolls in her space, without things like tripe, aorta, and hundred leaves.
Write it down, let Zheng Yuanfeng figure it out.
Lastly, she drew a diagram of a hotpot and finished.
Barbecue spots were even simpler; she drew the appearance of a grill and metal skewers.
After half a day’s writing, Yu Xiaolian felt that inviting Zheng Yuanfeng for a meal someday might be more effective, giving him a better sense of the deliciousness of hotpot and barbecue.
She lived over thirty years in her previous life and could never get enough. She was utterly defenseless against the deliciousness of hotpot and barbecue.
Especially Sichuan-style hotpot, just thinking about it made her mouth water.
"Xiaolian, tomorrow we need to send the pastries and preserved fruits to Mingxiang Pavilion. Your father and I have already removed the packaging. Is there anything else that needs doing?"
After dinner, Mrs. Sun and Yu Changhe had been in the supermarket, helping to strip the packaging. Fortunately, scissors made it easier.
However, wrapping everything up again in oil paper was a bit troublesome.
She wondered if the wooden boxes and pushcart she had ordered from Carpenter Liu were done yet.
"Mom, there’s nothing else to do, you and dad can just wash up and go to sleep!"
Snacks for pairing with alcohol weren’t suitable for sale at Mingxiang Pavilion. Zheng Yuanfeng planned to open a restaurant, but it was still in the early stages and would take some time before those snacks could be used.
She still had quite a few types of tea leaves in her space: Monkey King Flower Tea, Jasmine Tea, Rose Beauty Tea, Barley Tea, Lotus Leaf Tea, along with gold and silver flowers, goji berries, and American Ginseng slices for making tea.
It seemed she’d have to visit Mingxiang Pavilion again tomorrow. These were all worth money, and it was a waste to leave them in the space.
Yu Xiaolian decided to work up the courage to discuss a restaurant investment with Zheng Yuanfeng. If successful, she’d become someone starting from scratch with the future wealthiest person.
Early the next morning, Yu Xiaolian and Mrs. Sun were about to head out with two large baskets to deliver goods to Mingxiang Pavilion when Carpenter Liu’s apprentice arrived with the pushcart and pastry boxes.
After accepting the items, Yu Xiaolian and Mrs. Sun moved the pastry boxes into the house, then placed the two baskets on the pushcart, for who would carry heavy baskets when they could push a cart instead?
Even though Yu Xiaolian wasn’t very tall, the pushcart was tailored for her size, so she could handle it.
But with Mrs. Sun there, she refused to let Yu Xiaolian push the cart, shooing Yu Xiaolian aside while she pushed it herself.
There was nothing Yu Xiaolian could do but walk alongside Mrs. Sun.
As they passed the market, Yu Xiaolian sweetly greeted Aunt Ge.
Aunt Ge thought the mother and daughter duo had found a new spot for their stall and strained her neck to see where they’d set up, only to find they didn’t stop and passed straight through the market.
They pushed the cart into Mingxiang Pavilion’s backyard, where the shopkeeper Hai immediately called for helpers to move the goods into the kitchen.
"This must be the talented Mrs. Yu? Your skill in making pastries is unmatched, nothing like it on earth!" the shopkeeper Hai said with a thumbs-up as he smiled at Mrs. Sun.
Mrs. Sun looked embarrassed but replied bravely, "You flatter me. Thank you for accepting our pastries."
"Not only are you skilled, but you’ve raised a remarkable child. So young, yet she came to Mingxiang Pavilion alone to discuss business. The other day I saw her there..."
While shopkeeper Hai and Mrs. Sun were engrossed in conversation, Yu Xiaolian had already made her way to the second floor to find Zheng Yuanfeng.
Yu Xiaolian took out several small packets of tea she had prepared the night before, placed them on the table, and explained her purpose.
