Urban Martial Saint
Chapter 1265: Misunderstanding
Although this road was built quite well, its location is rather remote, and a new expressway has been constructed in Shenchuan City to replace it. Hence, this road is basically abandoned. During the day, there are still a few passing vehicles, but at night, hardly any vehicles pass by.
Ye Qing reprimanded the two monks, then drove the big truck back. Meanwhile, the two monks, Boye and Weiye, were also walking along the road in the same direction. However, they were taking the small path beside the road, and since it was pitch dark, Ye Qing, on the main road, didn't notice the two monks.
However, the two monks clearly saw Ye Qing drive the big truck past them. They were both taken aback, because they recognized the truck; it was the very one that the elders had driven away just now. Weren't the elders supposed to be driving back to Brahmanism? Why did they suddenly turn back?
"Look quickly, the driver in the truck!" Weiye suddenly shouted. Boye looked carefully and was even more surprised, saying, "This... this isn't the driver from the elders, and the elders aren't in the truck. What's going on here?"
"The license plate matches, so this must be the truck that belonged to the elders!" Weiye's expression changed, and he said in a serious tone, "Could it be... something has happened?"
Weiye and Boye exchanged a glance. Boye gritted his teeth and said gravely, "You quickly go and check over there. If the elders aren't in the truck, they might still be over there. I'll chase this truck and see who he really is!"
"Alright!" Weiye nodded without any hesitation, turned around, and rushed in the direction where the elders had headed earlier.
Weiye was not slow either. He sped up and soon reached the place where Ye Qing had stopped the truck earlier; Ye Qing's sports car was still parked there.
At this late hour, there weren't many vehicles on this road. Weiye only saw two vehicles earlier: one was their truck, the other was Ye Qing's sports car, which made it particularly memorable. Seeing the sports car, he immediately thought of the truck he saw earlier and suddenly remembered that the driver who had driven the truck past seemed to be the owner of this sports car!
This discovery shocked Weiye even more, and an ominous premonition arose within him. He hurried to the sports car but couldn't find any trace of the elders.
"Elders! Elders!" Weiye couldn't help but shout, but there was no response from the surroundings. Worried, he called out while quickly running forward to search.
After walking about two kilometers, Weiye suddenly stopped in his tracks, slightly wrinkled his nose, and turned his head to search around. The air here was filled with a scent of blood, which was particularly noticeable to a monk who has been a vegetarian all year round.
Following the direction of the blood scent, less than thirty meters from the roadside, there were two bodies lying in a pool of blood on the ground. And these two bodies were none other than the elders and the young monk from earlier.
Seeing these two bodies, Weiye's expression greatly changed, and he exclaimed in shock, rushing over to lift the elder up.
"Elder! Elder! How are you? Wake up!" Weiye called repeatedly, but the elder's body was already cold and obviously dead, so there was no way he could awaken him.
On the other hand, Boye had been chasing Ye Qing's car all the way but eventually lost it. After all, Ye Qing was driving while he was on foot; although he ran quickly, he couldn't possibly match the speed of the vehicle. Moreover, there were several forks ahead, and he didn't know which direction to chase, leaving him at a loss.
Boye stood there observing for a while, initially intending to find the direction Ye Qing might have left. However, before he could choose a direction for pursuit, two cars suddenly sped past him, heading in the direction he had just come from.
Boye was somewhat puzzled. They chose to conduct their affairs on this road precisely because it was remote and seldom visited at night, making it less likely for them to be discovered. But what was going on tonight? Why did this road suddenly become so busy? In such a short time, three cars had passed by; surely there was something wrong here.
After a brief hesitation, Boye suddenly turned and ran back. He was unsure which path to take at the fork earlier, so he opted for a more conservative approach by turning to chase the two cars. He suspected these cars were related to the driver of the previous truck, so he hoped to gather some information from them.
Boye's guess was correct; the people in the two cars were sent by Li Lianshan to support Ye Qing. In fact, a total of ten cars had come; they had already met up with Ye Qing, and eight cars followed him to transport the children to the orphanage in Shenchuan City. The remaining two cars came to find Li Lianshan's sports car. Otherwise, Boye would not have encountered them.
The occupants of the two cars were Li Lianshan's subordinates. Following the direction provided by Ye Qing, they drove along the road and finally found Ye Qing's sports car parked on the roadside. A driver got out and was about to drive away when suddenly, a furious roar came from the distance.
Those inside the car simultaneously turned to look, only to see a monk in strange robes with bloodshot eyes sprinting towards them from afar. The men were a bit surprised and didn't know what was going on. However, being Li Lianshan's subordinates, just some petty thugs, they were used to intimidating others and wouldn't be scared off by a shout. So, they didn't intend to leave; instead, they waited to see what the monk wanted to do.
The monk running over was Weiye. Having seen the bodies of the elder and the young monk earlier, he was extremely enraged. Coupled with witnessing Ye Qing driving the truck away, he concluded that it was Ye Qing who killed the elder and the monk. Therefore, he sprinted over, intending to seek revenge on Ye Qing. But upon reaching the sports car, he saw a few people trying to drive it away, immediately thinking they must be accomplices of Ye Qing, which is why he roared furiously as he charged over.
Seeing Weiye approaching, a man stood out from the car and shouted, "Hey, where are you from, mad monk? What are you yelling about? Looking for a fight?"
Li Lianshan's subordinates spoke without any politeness. Hearing this, Weiye's anger intensified. Without a word, he dashed up to the man and delivered a chopping punch to his face.
After all, Weiye was proficient in martial arts, whereas the man, though often engaged in fights, knew nothing about martial arts. Receiving a punch from Weiye on his face, he roared in pain and immediately called the people around him to come out and deal with Weiye together.
There were a total of seven or eight of them, and they all rushed out to surround Weiye, but they were no match for him. Weiye had reached the level of Internal Energy Release, making him a skilled fighter, and within less than five minutes, he knocked all seven or eight people to the ground.
"Who...what kind of monk are you?" a man panted while lying on the ground, "We have no grudge against you; why are you attacking us?"
Weiye glared at him and roared in broken Huaxia language, "No grudge? You killed my master, and I must personally get revenge."
Weiye's Huaxia was already poor, and coupled with his trembling lips from anger, the men couldn't understand what he was saying.
"What did he say?" one man asked in confusion; the others had the same expression, none understanding Weiye's words.
Another man shouted, "Hey, can you even understand what we're saying? I told you, we have no grudge against you. Did you mistake us for someone else?"
"I didn't mistake you; it's your people who killed my master and junior brother!" Weiye's face twisted, and he stepped forward menacingly, "I'll kill you first, to get some interest back for my master and junior brother!"
Though Brahmanism is a branch of Buddhism, its teachings differ significantly from Buddhism, with one of the major differences being regarding the act of killing. Buddhists are forbidden from killing, while Brahmanism has no such restrictions. Seeing the bodies of his master and junior brother enraged Weiye, so at this moment, he had no qualms, grabbing the neck of the foremost person and flinging him to the side.
The man's head smashed onto the concrete, with no chance of even a last cry, as he fell straight into a pool of blood.
The remaining few people were caught off guard by the monk's willingness to kill, and seeing the man collapse, they were horrified. They didn't care about their own pains, scrambling off the ground to retreat. But their efforts were in vain; Weiye caught up with them, killing four more, leaving only three, trembling and unsure of where to run.
Weiye had become bloodthirsty, step by step approaching the three. Panic-stricken, they saw Weiye nearing; suddenly a startled cry came from afar: "Weiye, what are you doing?"
The three turned to see another monk striding over. Seeing this monk, their terror deepened; even one Weiye had them trapped, and now another monk was approaching—what were they going to do?
The monk coming over was Boye. From a distance, he saw Weiye killing people and, not knowing what was happening, hurriedly questioned.
Seeing Boye, Weiye finally regained some composure and, with a tearful voice, said, "Boye, the elder is dead! Master is dead!"
