Chapter 17 - 17 17 Explanation
17: Chapter 17 Explanation 17: Chapter 17 Explanation “What are you daydreaming about?
What’s wrong?” Qin Han, holding Diudiu, asked from the sofa.
“What exactly happened today?” Song Yuwei lifted her head to ask.
“Well… I… It’s a bit complicated to explain.” Qin Han didn’t know how to tell her; an explanation was due today, or else it was indefensible.
“Did you use some unsavory methods to deceive the Zhou family?” Song Yuwei’s eyes instantly grew dim, as if losing all their color, filled with disappointment.
“Not at all!”
“Then how do you explain what happened today?
I’ve said before, I don’t yearn for wealth, as long as you find a stable job, I’m content.
We may be poor, but you shouldn’t go out and swindle people.”
As Song Yuwei spoke, tears streamed down her face.
After thinking it over at home, given Qin Han’s status, how could he possibly know the Zhou family?
Considering the Zhou family’s attitude, could it be that he resorted to disreputable methods to con them?
The thought alone turned her face deathly pale.
Living a stable life was already good enough; even if they didn’t make much money and life was tough, there was still hope as long as Qin Han stayed away from gambling.
But if he went out and defrauded people, one day they would be caught.
What then?
It was the Zhou family, after all!
Watching Song Yuwei, Qin Han was somewhat at a loss for words.
They say women are made of water, and he believed it now; reaching out, he wiped away her tears and said, “I was wrong!”
“Huh?” Song Yuwei had never thought Qin Han would comfort her, and subconsciously asked, “What were you wrong about?”
As she said this, she felt that in the past few days, his pampering had indeed made her temperament fiery, and she was somewhat losing her sense of direction.
Bursting into laughter, she sniffed and asked, “Tell me about it.”
“What if I told you that after I was beaten that night, I dreamt of an Immortal, who gave me guidance?
Would you believe that?” Qin Han asked tentatively, knowing Song Yuwei would never believe him about being reborn.
He had no choice but to say he dreamt of an Immortal.
“What did the Immortal say?” To Qin Han’s surprise, Song Yuwei just looked amazed for a moment, then continued to inquire.
“The Immortal said my past life was a mess, and that you were my benefactor from a previous life, instructing me to take good care of you.
He also taught me medical skills, and I cured the old master of the Zhou family using those skills from my dream.”
“And today at the Zhou family’s, he even gifted me a medical clinic to choose the location for tomorrow,” Qin Han reported like a diligent student, telling Song Yuwei the whole story; though it was mixed with truth and fiction, most of it was true.
“Really?
But I heard that doctors need some kind of qualification certificate to practice medicine?” Song Yuwei asked, astonished.
“The Zhou family will take care of all that,” Qin Han said with a smile, then added.
“You really aren’t lying?” Song Yuwei still somewhat doubted Qin Han’s words, as they just seemed too fantastical.
“Mommy, I also dreamt of a fairy that night!” Diudiu, hearing Qin Han speak of the Immortal, said seriously.
Qin Han was amused by Diudiu’s earnestness and teased him, “What did the fairy look like, and what did he tell you?”
“He was an old grandpa with a white beard.
He told me that Daddy would get better,” the little guy said earnestly.
Hearing the little one’s words, Qin Han had a sudden inspiration and looked at Song Yuwei with a shocked expression.
“What’s wrong?” Song Yuwei asked curiously.
“The one who taught me medical skills was also an old man with a white beard,” Qin Han said gravely.
Seeing Qin Han speak so seriously, not as if joking, Song Yuwei somewhat believed him.
“Could it really be that heaven has opened its eyes?” Realizing a potential issue in her words, Song Yuwei quickly glanced at Qin Han, and seeing that he wasn’t offended, she relaxed.
“Can you show me then?” Still somewhat skeptical, Song Yuwei extended her hand toward Qin Han.
Qin Han pretended to take Song Yuwei’s pulse, but with his medical skills, a single glance was enough to diagnose her.
Taking her pulse was just to make Song Yuwei feel it was genuine.
A moment later, Qin Han withdrew his right hand and smiled, “Your body is still very healthy, although you do have some cold in your uterus.
You get abdominal pain during your period, but these should improve after you have a child.”
Song Yuwei’s face turned red instantly; how could he discuss such things in front of the child?
“I’m going to cook!”
Seeing that Song Yuwei was finally letting go of the day’s events, Qin Han breathed a deep sigh of relief.
Soon, the kitchen filled with the aroma of food.
Didi was fiddling with her doll, and the home was filled with an indescribable warmth.
Qin Han’s thoughts were focused on the clinic’s issues.
When the meal was brought out, Song Yuwei removed her apron and said to Didi, “Didi, it’s time to eat, play with your doll later.”
The family of three was eating when Didi suddenly looked up and asked, “Mommy, why don’t you sleep with Daddy?”
“Huh?
What?” Song Yuwei was a bit slow to react.
“Where did you hear such things?” Song Yuwei’s face turned slightly red.
“Xiaoyu told me his mom and dad sleep together under one blanket!”
Song Yuwei’s face turned as red as a monkey’s butt.
She gently slapped Didi and shyly said, “What nonsense is a child talking about?
He’s a boy, you’re a girl, you can’t talk about such things, understand?”
“But he said that many mommies and daddies who don’t sleep together end up divorcing.
I want mommy and daddy to sleep together too.” Didi’s eyes were full of longing, clearly cherishing these two days with the family.
When Qin Han heard Didi’s words, he only had one thought: how pure children are.
After being nice to her for just two days, she was already speaking up for him.
Indeed, a girl is a cotton-padded jacket, yes, it was worth pampering her!
“Then go to sleep early tonight, maybe it will come true,” Qin Han said with a smile.
“She’s just a child, don’t talk nonsense,” Song Yuwei glared at Qin Han, her shyness making her seem like a coquettish little woman, incredibly charming.
It was late at night; Didi had fallen asleep with her doll.
Qin Han lay on his single bed, still thinking about the clinic.
By the moonlight coming through the window, Song Yuwei looked at the man in the bed across from her, her heart feeling chaotic.
The couple had been married for three years yet had not shared a bedroom, which would seem unbelievable if told.
Qin Han turned his body and whispered to Song Yuwei, “Is Didi asleep?”
Song Yuwei looked at Didi sleeping in her arms, her heartbeat quickening, and a blush appearing on her face in the dim light.
Her heart was in turmoil, marveling at how the past couple of days had been like a dream, the happiest since her marriage.
Should she, perhaps, give it to him?
They had been married for three years, it would be laughable if told.
“Yes, she’s asleep.” Song Yuwei slowly pulled back the blanket, ready to climb onto Qin Han’s bed.
“You should go to sleep early too.
Prepare in the morning, and then head to Wanhua Company in the afternoon,” Qin Han said, turning over as if he was going to sleep.
Song Yuwei’s movement froze mid-air, and she lay back down, feeling somewhat aggrieved and wondering if she was no longer as beautiful as before.
Or had he seen the glamorous world outside over these two years and no longer found her appealing?
What she didn’t know was that Qin Han had just taken a Bone Marrow Cleansing Pill, preparing to challenge the second stage of the acupuncture point.
