Urban Soldier Young Master
Chapter 798 797: You Win
This loud shout finally snapped everyone out of their stupor, gathering them around the bald man.
Chen Jue slightly furrowed his brows. What is this guy up to? They've been unable to deal with Chu Ge for so long, what could he possibly do in this last minute?
Chu Ge looked at this large group of people huddled together, their sneaky behavior amused him, curving his lips into a smile. He wasn't worried at all; instead, he was filled with anticipation.
"Do as I say! Go!"
Before everyone could gather, the bald man shouted again. There were still forty-five seconds left at this point.
The crowd once again rushed towards Chu Ge. Those who heard the bald man's command had complex expressions, while those who didn't were confused.
This time, instead of randomly charging towards Chu Ge, the forty or fifty people formed three horizontal lines. The first row was full of tall people, completely blocking those behind them.
When the first row, led by the bald man, was one meter away from Chu Ge, he shouted again, "Now's the time!"
Ten seconds remained.
Chen Jue's brows furrowed even tighter, and Chu Ge's smile grew wider.
Suddenly, pieces of clothing were thrown out from the blocked second row, cascading down towards Chu Ge. As the clothes fell, everyone in the first row suddenly sprang into action.
These people weren't attacking Chu Ge; they lunged at him from different directions simultaneously.
The bald man's plan was to use the clothes to obstruct Chu Ge's vision, then have everyone pin him down and drag him out of the circle.
"Thud, thud, thud..."
A series of bodies hitting the ground could be heard. The bald man was the third to jump in; although the fourth person immediately piled on top of him, making him roll his eyes, he wore a victor's smile on his face.
This time, they've got it!
"Quickly! Pull him out!"
"Time's up!"
The voices of the bald man and Chen Jue rang out simultaneously. The smile froze on the bald man's face. He clenched his fist tightly. How could they miss it by just that little bit?
"Quick, check if he's still in the circle!"
Though the bald man felt certain Chu Ge was at the bottom of the pile, he couldn't help but shout, unwilling to accept it.
But he suddenly noticed something peculiar; the people standing beside him were all looking up with a ghost-stricken expression.
"Where are you looking?! Look below!"
The bald man shouted irritably, puzzled though he also wanted to follow their gaze upwards. Unfortunately, he still had people pinning him down. As long as they didn't move, he couldn't see anything from his current angle.
"Haha, no need to look down; I'm here."
Suddenly, the bald man heard a voice coming from above him. His expression froze instantly; he couldn't even believe his own ears.
This was Chu Ge's voice? It was Chu Ge's voice! How... could this be possible?
"Thud"
The sound of feet landing echoed in the bald man's ears, and immediately he saw a pair of pants without any dirt on the legs. He strained to tilt his head up but could only barely see a slightly upturned, mocking smile.
As for who this person was, it was self-evident.
A minute later, the people stacked in a heap on the ground each stood back up, their expressions somewhat blank. Those who lunged at Chu Ge didn't understand what had happened, and those who did found it hard to believe their own eyes.
Chen Jue had the best view; he saw most clearly. In that moment of chaos, Chu Ge suddenly jumped up, stepped on someone's back in mid-air, and used the force to perform a double jump, soaring high again. When he came down, he landed on the back of the last person who had jumped towards him.
This... was simply unbelievable!
But what shocked Chen Jue even more was that even though Chu Ge's vision was obstructed by dozens of pieces of clothing, he seemed to see through them. Not only did he execute the jump with impeccable timing, but he also managed to shift his position slightly during the second jump, narrowly avoiding those lunging from behind.
In that instant, Chu Ge even grabbed a soaking wet piece of clothing, and with a swift whirl of his right hand, he whipped several other pieces aside like a lash.
Recalling everything that had just unfolded right before his eyes, Chen Jue couldn't help but question, was this man called Chu Ge really the same as him, human?
As Chen Jue involuntarily pondered this absurd question, Chu Ge walked over to the bald man.
Many gazes converged on him, each one sweating bullets for the bald man.
The idea that Baldie had just now was shameless beyond measure. Although Chu Ge unbelievably won the bet, he's certainly fuming inside, and it looks like he's about to deal with Baldie!
Baldie had nothing more to say, watching Chu Ge approach step by step with a complex expression, ready to accept an even more scathing tongue-lashing than before, or perhaps be on the receiving end of some subtle payback.
Chu Ge raised his hand, and everyone tensed up, yet no one spoke. Bao Zhanhai couldn't intervene in Chu Ge's affairs, and Chen Jue remained silent. What could they possibly say?
Chu Ge's raised right hand formed into a fist, then he punched Baldie in the chest.
Baldie thought he would be sent flying by that punch and clenched his teeth as Chu Ge raised his hand. But when the fist landed on his chest, it seemed to have no force at all?
Baldie was a bit bewildered, even wondering if there was some trick or hidden force in Chu Ge's punch. Even if he wasn't hurt now, would the impact come later?
Although the idea was absurd, given the incredible prowess Chu Ge had shown earlier, Baldie couldn't help but think like this.
Baldie was still stunned, and then he saw Chu Ge shaking his head at him with a smile, "What are you staring off into space for? I take back what I said earlier. You're not useless. You did great, you won."
Baldie's eyes widened, "We... we won?"
Not only Baldie was stunned. Everyone, including Chen Jue, was dumbfounded. They had no idea what Chu Ge meant by saying they won. How could they have won?
Amidst bewildered glances, Chu Ge smiled and nodded, "That's right. I stepped out of bounds earlier. My body went out a bit when I dodged in mid-air."
After speaking, Chu Ge turned to everyone and called out, "Come over, each of you give me a punch. A bet's a bet, and I lost."
No one moved. They were still doubtful whether they had really won. Moreover, even if they had won... could they really hit Chu Ge?
Everyone knew this guy was not only a freakishly skilled fighter, but also someone that even their boss, Chen Jue, had to show respect to!
Chu Ge shook his head with amusement, "Earlier, you all couldn't wait to tear me apart, and now that you've won and can act, why are you all just standing there? Hurry up, come on!"
Still, no one moved. Everyone looked at Chu Ge, then at Chen Jue, their expressions full of reluctance.
Chen Jue smiled wryly, just about to say something when Chu Ge called out once more.
"Why are you all looking at him? It's me who made the bet with you, not him. I lost and haven't said anything; now that you've won, why the hesitation? Each one of you, stop being so cowardly like a bunch of women, or I'll lose all respect for you. Give it to me straight!"
Chen Jue's helpless smile grew, as everyone exchanged looks, growing more and more conflicted.
"Bao Zhanhai! You first!"
Bao Zhanhai was initially trying to duck out, but after Chu Ge called his name, his face fell. Since he was specifically named, he had no choice but to walk over to Chu Ge, looking sheepish.
"Boss..."
"Enough with the nonsense, hit me now, and don't hold back. If you don't use enough strength, it doesn't count."
Bao Zhanhai had just opened his mouth when Chu Ge cut him off, standing firmly in place and giving him an encouraging look.
Bao Zhanhai was still hesitant, glancing at Chen Jue, who gave him a subtle nod. Only then did he reluctantly say "Sorry," and punched Chu Ge in the chest.
Though the punch wasn't very hard, it wasn't too light either. Bao Zhanhai intended to go easy and be done with it, but before he could step back, Chu Ge frowned in dissatisfaction.
"Is that all the power that Brother Leopard from Lidu has in his punch? Are you kidding me? Try again! I'm telling you, no more playing around. Hit me properly!"
Seeing Chu Ge's serious expression, Bao Zhanhai could only smile wryly. Clenching his fist harder, he increased the force a bit and punched Chu Ge again.
Yet Chu Ge still shook his head and, with a serious face, patted his chest, "I'll say it one last time, use all your strength and hit me hard. If you keep going easy on me, I'll turn around and go. Don't ever say you know me again."
Bao Zhanhai's lips trembled. It became clear to him that Chu Ge wasn't pretending; he genuinely wanted Bao Zhanhai to hit him with everything he had.
Being someone who had fought and brawled his way up, Bao Zhanhai knew the power of a full-force punch.
If he really put all his strength into it and delivered the punch… breaking a brick wouldn't be a problem. Could Chu Ge really handle it?
Sensing Chu Ge's unwavering determination, Bao Zhanhai understood he wasn't joking. If he kept hesitating, Chu Ge would indeed turn and leave.
"I... I got it."
Taking a deep breath, Bao Zhanhai steeled himself, raised his right hand, clenched his fist, released it, clenched it again, and released it again, using this method to calm his nerves and pressure.
When he clenched his right hand into a fist for the third time, he finally stopped hesitating and, using all his strength, punched Chu Ge's chest hard.
"Thud!"
