Chapter 1161: Chapter 1161: The Secret of Lu Xiaofeng’s Disappearance

“I’ll go with you,” Little Xuan stood up and said.

Jin Guozhong still frowned; Little Xuan’s personality was completely opposite to Tie Zhuzi’s.

Little Xuan wasn’t good at speaking and mostly stayed by Xiang Yu’s side; few people had seen him take action.

Little Xuan’s frail figure didn’t look strong either, and now he proactively stood up to follow him to catch Sky Thief Rat, leaving Jin Guozhong somewhat hesitant. He looked at Xiang Yu for his opinion.

But Xiang Yu simply nodded and said, “Little Xuan will cooperate with you.”

Tie Zhuzi saw Xiang Yu hadn’t called him along, and reluctantly said, “Brother Yu, I’ll go with them too.”

“You stay here,” Xiang Yu smiled and replied.

Though Tie Zhuzi was reluctant, he still nodded.

Jin Guozhong admired Xiang Yu greatly; he couldn’t understand how Xiang Yu managed to tame someone like Tie Zhuzi.

Tie Zhuzi had a fiery personality and listened only to Xiang Yu. This made Jin Guozhong envious; having such a brother by one’s side was indeed lucky.

Jin Guozhong felt uneasy, but plucked up his courage and nodded, then called Little Xuan to leave.

Meanwhile, Yuan Huai took the opportunity to walk outside.

Leng Chan was still immersed in the recent events and hadn’t reacted. Sky Thief Rat openly sent people to assassinate Xiang Yu now; it seemed he was ready to oppose Hongmen.

She took out her phone, intending to call Poison Rose as Poison Rose was her Hall Master, and this matter was no trivial one that needed reporting.

“You should keep this matter confidential for now,” Xiang Yu sensed her intention and turned to her.

Leng Chan blushed and nodded, admitting she indeed wanted to leak this information.

Now that Xiang Yu addressed it in front of her, it indicated his trust in her.

“I understand,” Leng Chan nodded, then turned to check Yuan Huai’s stance on the matter, but Yuan Huai was already gone.

“Yuan Huai, stop!” Leng Chan shouted and rushed outside.

Tie Zhuzi stood behind, puzzled, “There’s something off about those two.”

Xiang Yu merely smiled and didn’t think much of it.

Yuan Huai sneaked out of Xiang Yu’s room and swiftly ran into the distance. Upon hearing the shouting from behind, he realized escape was impossible and simply stopped.

“Why didn’t you keep running?” Leng Chan sternly asked.

Yuan Huai sighed seriously, “I wasn’t running; I stayed to tell you the truth.”

“Come off it,” Leng Chan said, grabbing Yuan Huai by his collar into his office.

“Tell me the past quickly, or I won’t let this go,” Leng Chan demanded.

Yuan Huai nodded, took a bottle from the cabinet, and drank. His expression was grave and somber as if reminiscing on past events.

Leng Chan noticed Yuan Huai’s strange demeanor but remained silent.

Yuan Huai hadn’t drunk for a long time; he’d quit. Nonetheless, he suddenly wanted to drink.

“I had just turned 18, still a virgin.”

“Leave out the irrelevant details; focus on the main story,” Leng Chan restlessly admonished.

Unashamed, Yuan Huai took a sip and continued, “On my eighteenth birthday, I brought a woman back at one in the morning.”

Listening to Yuan Huai’s nonsense, Leng Chan barely restrained herself from hitting him, but seeing his serious face, she held back.

“I secretly brought the woman to my room; her skin was very fair…” Yuan Huai said, drinking with deep absorption in his memories.

About five minutes passed before Yuan Huai continued, “I didn’t sleep that night, full of energy. Around three in the morning, I sent her away. Upon returning, I noticed a room’s light was still on, so I stealthily approached.”

“As I got closer, I overheard them plotting to kill Lu Xiaofeng.”

“Who were they?” Leng Chan, teary-eyed, couldn’t help but shout.

Yuan Huai shook his head, took another sip, and resumed, “Due to nerves, I didn’t see clearly, got discovered, and hurried back to my room.”

The next day, I intended to tell godfather about it, but by morning, we found Lu Xiaofeng’s body; he’d been assassinated. Few knew about it; godfather was heartbroken, and had the body buried discreetly, sealing the news.”

“Why conceal the news?” Tears welled in Leng Chan’s eyes, finally streaming down.

“Because Lu Xiaofeng was a hero in Hongmen with many followers; revealing his assassination would surely disrupt Hongmen. Besides, godfather had already chosen Hongmen’s successor.”

Yuan Huai said, sadly glancing at Leng Chan.

“Was my father the successor?” Leng Chan cried silently but held back the sound.

Yuan Huai nodded and continued, “After burying Lu Xiaofeng, godfather declared he was sent on an external mission. Although many speculated, the incident faded into obscurity.”

“Who was the murderer?” Leng Chan finally asked.

Yuan Huai looked into Leng Chan’s eyes for a while, then held the bottle, drank, walked to the window, and sighed at the view, “Sky Thief Rat.”

“Him?” Leng Chan clenched her fists, blood flowing from her palms, “How do you know it was him?”

“Sky Thief Rat was Lu Xiaofeng’s subordinate; after Lu Xiaofeng’s death, he became Hall Master and renamed it to Holy Mouse Hall…” Yuan Huai stopped there, watching Leng Chan weeping like a waterfall.

He didn’t console Leng Chan but took the bottle and went out alone.

Leng Chan sobbed alone in the room, for an unknown period, eventually leaving.

Jin Guozhong came out of Xiang Yu’s room feeling troubled; the task Xiang Yu entrusted him with was daunting.

“What should we do?” Jin Guozhong complained.

“It’s simple, just go over and tie him up,” Little Xuan straightforwardly said.

Jin Guozhong glanced at Little Xuan, shook his head, and sighed, “You make it sound easy; do you know who Sky Thief Rat is? Since he dared to assassinate the Sect Leader, he’s surely prepared. If we mobilize brothers to catch him, he’ll definitely know, and flee.”

“He’ll detect a large group, but if it’s just a few stealthy people, it will be far easier to conceal,” Little Xuan suggested.

Jin Guozhong shook his head, not saying a word; to him, Little Xuan was just a naïve kid thinking it all too simple. He couldn’t fathom why Xiang Yu assigned Little Xuan to him; if it were Tie Zhuzi, it would make more sense…
