CHAPTER 1202: CHAPTER 1202: BROTHERS DYING BEFORE HIS EYES

"I won’t go, if we go, we go together." Xiang Yu stood up stubbornly, looking nothing like the person who had just ended all bonds with them.

"Xiao Yu, we are not who we used to be, we can’t go back, but you can. Leave now before they’re aware, or you won’t be able to later." The captain began to look anxiously below as he spoke.

"No way." Xiang Yu insisted stubbornly.

All along, Xiang Yu believed that he was someone who could see things openly. He knew everyone had their own fate, their own choices, and he would never interfere with anyone’s decisions.

But today, facing his brothers, Xiang Yu simply couldn’t do it. He so desperately wished the three before him would leave with him.

He now had the Hongqing Group and Yuran Group; as long as they returned, life would be simple and relaxed.

"Don’t you know?" The captain shouted urgently when he saw Xiang Yu refusing to leave: "We can’t go back anymore, look at our bodies, we are all experimental subjects, all modified."

The captain spoke with anguish, then unbuttoned his shirt and stretched out his arm for Xiang Yu to see.

His arm was a bit dark but very robust, clearly not his original arm.

Now Xiang Yu understood why they were all wearing such clothes; they were all modified.

"So what? You’re still the original you." Xiang Yu shouted.

The captain was speechless, not knowing when Xiang Yu had become so stubborn.

As the captain stood there at a loss, he suddenly sensed something, and his eyes widened as he said, "Get down!"

His words were barely out when a helicopter roared up from the mountain’s base.

Seeing the helicopter’s rotors rise from below, the captain was startled, then quickly grabbed Xiang Yu and threw him backward.

Sitting at the helicopter’s door was a thin man with graying hair and fierce eyes; it was none other than Commander Cao, whom Xiang Yu hadn’t seen for a long time.

Commander Cao held a machine gun, and as the helicopter ascended, he opened fire below indiscriminately.

Below, the captain, Qing Lang, and a third person named Bai Hu were unlucky and were shot, falling straight down.

Thrown to the ground, Xiang Yu was completely dumbfounded, unable to process the situation.

Before falling, the captain looked at Commander Cao on the helicopter with unwilling eyes.

"You said you would spare Xiang Yu..." The captain spat blood, speaking with reluctance.

Commander Cao sat on the helicopter with a cold expression, watching the three of them fall without any change in expression, then set his sights on Xiang Yu.

Han Feng and Gao Lianfeng, hiding in the distance, never expected there would be a helicopter.

Seeing the helicopter flying toward Xiang Yu, they both jumped up quickly, made it to Xiang Yu’s side, and dragged him to hide behind a rock.

Xiang Yu’s whole body was trembling, the scene just now left him breathless.

"Captain, Qing Lang." Xiang Yu murmured, then calmly walked out from the rock, completely ignoring Commander Cao above.

"Don’t go." Han Feng, seeing Xiang Yu stand up, quickly grabbed him and pulled him back into hiding.

Just then a loud voice from the plane called out, amplified through a speaker.

"Xiang Yu, I knew you would come here. Seeing your brothers fall at your feet again, how does it feel?" Commander Cao’s helicopter circled above.

Xiang Yu was standing there with an open mouth, as if he’d lost his mind. His hope was utterly shattered now.

When he saw Qing Lang for that fleeting moment, he imagined that maybe other brothers were alive too.

Today he finally saw them, but it turned out to be a permanent farewell.

"Xiang Yu, doesn’t it feel great?" Commander Cao yelled through the speaker from the helicopter above.

Previously, Commander Cao had pretended to be a gentleman; today he finally showed his true colors.

Han Feng and Gao Lianfeng held onto Xiang Yu’s arms tightly, afraid he might impulsively run out.

They couldn’t fathom Xiang Yu’s current state of mind, a torment worse than death.

"Xiang Yu, snap out of it. Snap out of it." Han Feng shook Xiang Yu’s shoulders forcefully and shouted.

"They’re really dead this time. It’s my fault for not leaving earlier." Xiang Yu blamed himself.

"Stop thinking about it, think of a way to escape from here." Han Feng urged anxiously.

"Xiang Yu, you’re nothing but a coward, you couldn’t even protect your own woman, let alone your brothers. You know, if it wasn’t for your captain begging me back then, I would’ve never spared you this long. They sacrificed themselves to protect you."

Commander Cao laughed loudly as he spoke, "That skirmish you thought was an ambush was just a play by your captain. He wanted to warn you that they were already dead so you wouldn’t pursue it further. Letting you go back to the city was my promise to your captain to give you a way out."

"But you blew it, coming here of all places. Really, you’re avoiding paradise only to charge into hell, don’t blame anyone else. Qing Lang and the others have no more value to me; I’m sending them off first."

Commander Cao said as he fired another shot into Qing Lang. Then he fired a shot into Bai Hu.

Just as he was about to shoot the captain, Xiang Yu suddenly charged out. He started running quickly toward the front.

"Ah... you bastard." Xiang Yu jumped up, aiming straight for the helicopter.

Commander Cao was startled then shot at Xiang Yu.

The bullet pierced Xiang Yu’s shoulder, but he disregarded it.

He jumped onto the helicopter, grabbing Commander Cao by the collar. It was then that he noticed another person tied up with a gag over the mouth — it was Wang Qian from the Wolf Fang.

Wang Qian mumbled, trying to say something when he saw Xiang Yu.

But Xiang Yu couldn’t care less now; he held Commander Cao’s sleeve, reached out his other hand and prepared to punch.

Just as Xiang Yu was about to strike, pain flared from his shoulder, causing him to pause.

Taking advantage, Commander Cao suddenly kicked Xiang Yu in the abdomen.

Xiang Yu tore off Commander Cao’s shirt and slammed it down hard.

Commander Cao took the opportunity to grab Wang Qian and put a knife to her neck.

"Xiang Yu, you should know this person, right?" Commander Cao chuckled.

Xiang Yu flung the torn clothes away, glaring and said, "Let her go."

"Let her go?" Commander Cao laughed loudly again and then said, "Xiang Yu, oh Xiang Yu, you people are just ****, I used your so-called brotherly feelings to successfully manipulate Qing Lang and the others..."
