Vampire Summoner's Rebirth: Summoning The Vampire Queen At The Start
Chapter 1409: Meeting Yggdrasil
CHAPTER 1409: MEETING YGGDRASIL
----
With my friends, we made our way towards the tree, on the way, Eleanora joined back with me alongside Saphira, while the rest of the vampire spirits remained behind as per my orders, capturing any surviving lizardman after the battle was over, as long as they either ran away or surrendered, but if they fought even after that then, well, they’ll get killed easily.
I wasn’t too ruthless, the lizardmen that survived could have new futures, they were, at the end, intelligent beings, as long as they learn to not be evil, they could populate some part of the continent area I will own.
Why am I going so far from them? No particular reason other than wanting them for handwork, and also, well... making them go extinct would be a waste. The resentment between elves and lizardmen might only worsen, but I don’t really care, that part of the continent will be my country after all, I’ll make the rules. The elves will be forced to accept them, or they can forget about requesting my aid.
Their leaders are gone, and around 90% of their population is also gone, those that survived until now also show their resilience and intelligence, as someone that has believed on "survival of the fittest", I believe they deserve to survive and procreate to give birth to future generations that aren’t as destructive. Good thing lizardmen reproduce quickly, the next generation will be much better.
After all, Fafnir had showed me their incredible potential... They’ll be prime citizens for my country, as I can’t easily bring a lot of humans or other races here as they’re all within their countries happily, after all.
So they’ll make do for now, as more people migrate, but that’s for later anyway.
"I see you’ve become softer, forgiving some of the survivors, master..." Eleanora giggled. "Or am I misunderstanding your intentions?"
"Well, it might be a slight tinge of mercy, perhaps because Fafnir fought so fiercely I respect him slightly," I said. "And maybe another is because they have their usefulness... and... well, it would leave a bad taste in my mouth if we slaughtered those begging for their lives once their leaders and their soldiers are dead and the war is over."
"Hmm, well, it’s not like you didn’t do this before back in your first life either..." Eleanora nodded. "Luckily, Lizardman seem very obedient. Those that stupidly fought us despite all are dead, and those that begged for their lives are now given a new chance... as long as they serve you as their new lord well."
"And they will, their potential as workers is immense, although I have my familiars, I would rather employ them in battle rather than doing too much work, and they cannot do complex things such as craftsmanship and the like either," I explained. "And well, as I develop Divinities, Faith is necessary. I need to gather Faith quickly to get stronger Divinities. Cultivating a population of rapidly growing and rapidly reproducing intelligent beings is ideal, and I think this is also the potential Fafnir saw on them."
"Interesting, you’re not wrong," Eleanora nodded. "Although the reason behind would still be rather controversial for the elves..."
"The elves have lost their king and now Rosen and Elfriedden shall become king and queen, both are my close friends, they will easily understand," I shrugged. "The remaining population is simply too afraid to even question them, they’ll desperately cling to even the smallest tinge of hope they can get."
"We’re here," Elfriedden said from afar. "Uh, please, enter through this."
"Enter?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yes..." Elfriedden nodded.
The wood suddenly transformed, revealing an interior to a wooden cave within the Yggdrasil Tree.
We walked inside, although Braveblitz didn’t fit inside, so he stayed behind unfortunately.
The interior of Yggdrasil wasn’t dark, illuminated by flowers and mushrooms, and also... tiny creatures walked everywhere.
They resembled mushrooms with small legs, others like ethereal fairies, and a few looked like small plants, or ethereal flowers.
"W-What are those little things? So cute!" said Erika.
"They’re... Spirits," Elfriedden said. "Wild Spirits..."
"W-Wild Spirits?!" everyone was shocked.
After all, for ages, Wild Spirits have gone almost completely extinct. Now everyone knows that spirits are only born from the Spirit Orb of someone.
However, Wild Spirits are born out of nowhere, that’s new, and incredible too.
"Yggdrasil has the power to birth spirits endlessly," Elfriedden explained. "She is the mother of Nature, Life, and Spirits after all. Without her, Spirits would have never existed to begin with... As she regains more of her power, the spirits of the world will continue to multiply."
"That’s incredible news...!" Elizabeth said. "Does that mean that we could see a reemergence of spirits? Our world could go through a change, a new era...!"
"Perhaps," Elfriedden nodded. "But it might only be limited to this continent for the time being."
As we stopped walking we reached the deepest interior of Yggdrasil, a large hall of wood, flowers, and glowing mushrooms, with hundreds of little spirits wandering everywhere.
And slowly, from the middle of that hall, something started emerging, a powerful spiritual, divine presence.
FLAAASH!
The little spirits moved towards that presence, rapidly merging together, absorbing the radiant light and the divinity that emerged from the tree.
Until finally, they took the form of someone, of a tall, motherly woman, with long blonde hair made into braids, clear brown skin like the color of wood, and pointy ears, her skin decorated by many white paint tattoos.
She was almost nude, barely covering her voluptuous, yet ethereal body with growing plants, flowers, roots, vines, and leaves... her hair was also beautifully decorated by these same plants.
"W-Woah...!" Chris explained first, making Elfriedden glare at him angrily.
As this happened, Elfriedden kneeled before her.
"We are greatly honored to be in your divine presence, oh great mother of life, Yggdrasil." He said. "This is the first time I ever gaze upon your spiritual avatar, but I am deeply honored and enlightened. Please forgive my friends, they lack manners because they were born in a different continent."
The woman smiled, walking towards Elfriedden. Each one of her steps left behind plants, flowers, and mushrooms everywhere.
