Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]
Chapter 316: I’m In Need of A Savior
CHAPTER 316: I’M IN NEED OF A SAVIOR
[GREALOR]
That night, Kawai was filled with celebrations. They danced and ate and cheered like there was nothing to worry about. They had the best of their lives, like tomorrow was promised and it was the most beautiful sight for anyone, sane or not.
However, beyond the free lands, in the conniving pack that had been known for nothing but chaos, were wolves who were not sure whether to be livid or disappointed. Their Alpha was in a state of mind that they were unable to get him out of.
For the past ten days it had been like torture for the Grealor royals and yet none of them had the slightest of ideas about what was happening. Perhaps if they kept pushing, they would get what they needed right?
"This is getting old, Gabriel. You can’t keep shutting down each time you hear the outcast and that barbarian are mating. You can’t be this fucked up over someone who rejected you and cut ties with you.
"Or are you always so desperate to be broken?" Alpha Ashton asked his son who was huddled up in bed like life was not worth living anymore. Gabe looked like shit. He was a depressed alpha and he looked like he had been to seven hells and back.
He looked like the world had betrayed him over and again and he didn’t know what the fuck was left for him. The people closest to him had always learned the fates there and regardless of what Gabriel Grealor said, he was always going to be in love with Kaito Hinata.
And that was where the problem lay.
He was in love with a beast who wouldn’t care whether he was alive or dead. A beast that couldn’t be tamed and a beast that never wanted anything to do with him.
Anyone would have thought that the cut bands with Greater were enough for Gabriel to let Tamiko go, but the man was obsessed with the young Hinata. It was almost as if he lived for Tamiko.
He wanted to do everything for Tamiko.
Regardless of what that got him.
He was always a mess because of the said Lycan and no one in their right mind would willingly subject themselves to that kind of torture. It just made no sense whatsoever.
Perhaps it was what life was sound to be like for him, but isn’t he getting a little too pathetic for life then?
"Get out, father. I don’t want to hear your shit right now. You’re an alpha and you can run the pack again, now that you have legs. Isn’t that what you wanted? To be all-powerful?
"So, spare me your advice and do whatever it is that you wanted to do when you were crippled," Gabe said dismissively and Alpha Ashton sighed. It was the same shit with his son for the past ten days.
No one knew what had happened but when they had sent a spy to check out the borders of Kawai, they had learned of the celebrations of the Lycan prince’s rut.
It was pretty diabolical of the beasts to be celebrating that, but then at the same time, it got the wolves the answers they needed to understand what the fuck was wrong with their alpha.
Perhaps this time, they just had to press the right buttons too, right? Surely it wouldn’t be as bad right?
"You’re the alpha of the pack, Gabriel. You need to get your shit in order. You are slowly becoming a pathetic mess and I’m starting to wonder if my decision to let you take over as Alpha was a good one," Ashton said coldly.
Gabe laughed humorlessly.
His father had always been clear with what he wanted and while the fight against Kawai was for the safety of Grealor, Gabe had long learned of his father’s selfishness.
The peak of that lesson was when Zula bragged about how they had invaded Kawai and murdered a poor mother, took her son, and laughed at the other mothers that they considered insignificant.
It was the same as Gabe knew he would never be able to truly understand, and he hoped that someday he would get to understand them. This was not the kind of shit that they had to embrace along the way.
This was not what their normal would always be m and Gabe didn’t want that for the people of Grealor. His father was leading them to a war, one they were never going to win and his friends had willingly jumped into the bandwagon of madness too.
Gabe wanted to have a sit down with the Lycans, but a part of him knew that it was never going to happen. Honestly, before the capture that Zula had told them about the Kawai massacre, he had been more than willing to join the fight, however crazy it was.
But now with all the facts of the massacre and shit, he couldn’t help but feel that his father was just a demon in wolf’s clothing. This was insanity and he had to have known that.
Ashton had to have understood the concepts of what life was meant to be like.
But what the fuck was Gabriel supposed to do?
"Tell me something, father," Gabe began as he turned to look at his father.
He knew probably wouldn’t get a good answer, but he just wanted to see what this would be like. He wanted to know whether his father would come clean to him or if his gathered souls would try to mess with his mind.
Manipulation was not a tactic that worked on Gabriel Grealor, regardless of what the stakes were or who was doing the manipulation. He always had a strong mind, which was also why it had been easy for his father to let him hold the mantle for Grealor.
Ashton knew his son wouldn’t hesitate to take their people to war if it was necessary and save their lives if it was a need. There was nothing about Gabriel Grealor that screamed anarchy.
And yet his father, his dearest alpha had managed to fuck him up in one way to hell.
"What is it this time?" an impatient alpha Ashton asked as he walked over to the window in his son’s room, pulling back the curtains to let the light of the moon in, not to mention for a whiff of fresh air into his son’s room.
Maybe he hoped that this would remind Gabriel of what life used to be like before Tamiko, which would have been good if ever there was a life for the kid before Tamiko. But there wasn’t a life before Tamiko.
There was only life during and after Tamiko. Before Tamiko, Gabriel was barely months old. And during Tamiko, Gabriel had managed to be the greatest asshole to the prince of Kawai.
And now after Tamiko, Gabriel Grealor was a pathetic mess that didn’t even want to get up for the shit he was in.
"Did you," Gabriel began before going silent for an amount.
His father didn’t rush him, if anything Ashton grabbed a chair and sat beside his son’s bed. He could see that this was a disturbing moment for Gabriel and he hoped for the love of the goddess that his son would be alright eventually.
But would he think so?
"Did you kill my mother too? Like you ordered the murder of Her Majesty? Was that why I grew up without a mother? Was it your choice?" Gabe asked meekly and Ashton felt the breaths get knocked out of his lungs.
