Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]
Chapter 323: And Our Destiny Found Us
CHAPTER 323: AND OUR DESTINY FOUND US
[KAWAI]
"Sit," King Zaffuto said once Kosta had taken his seat beside Tamiko.
He looked so proud of his son and the newest addition to the Hinata family.
Anyone who had always seen the king could have sworn that this was the happiest the man had ever been, perhaps it was because his son was finally not hiding the one he loved and was embracing the possibility and the changes that were bound.
This was what life was like.
However intimidating the Lycan chief was right now, the king could see the smile in his eyes each time the man glanced at his son. That was honestly more than what the king could have asked for.
It was pure bliss.
"This meeting is to discuss what you all already knew was coming," Danny spoke, for the first time since he had been introduced as the known Kawai Lord.
All his actions over time had been as minimal as possible, but right now, as he stood and addressed the ministerial council and the royals, he couldn’t help but think of how familiar this was.
It reminded him of his role as a beta in Grealor and the situation rooms where they always went to discuss what was next for Grealor.
Those had been the best moments that Danny had with Grealor, given that most of the time, Grealor was never in wars, seeing as most of the people knew just how powerful a pack Grealor was.
Besides, in instances where they really had to go to war, the beta was among the frontline warriors of Grealor.
"There are three agendas today," Danny continued and the councilmen started in earnest as they listened to what it was that this was about.
There was so much that needed to be done and the fact that the Kawai omega had masked his scent and come in as the Lycan Chief was all they needed to keep in mind that this was a war that didn’t need to be slowed or anything.
This was the war that they had to fight, no matter what was coming for them. At this point, they were the most feared element in the realm and there wouldn’t be a thing to make that change.
"First, if the official retaliation for the kidnap of the royal omega. The crown does not take easily to an act so sinister that was aimed at weakening the crown and reducing the relevance of the royal omega to a weakness for the kingship.
"That was an insult to the Kawai crown and the familial element in the mate bonds. This is brought forth because there are more flagged attacks aimed at the Lycan prince and the mate bond that defines the very aspect of what Kawai is meant to be.
"If the attack is not stopped, then Kawai will stop being a civilian state and be reduced to a military state. No one wants a military state and you all understand what that means, given you are warriors and have been to the battlefield alongside the king more than a hundred times," Danny said and the warriors gasped softly.
They had known that war was coming, but they had to estimate the extent of what was headed their way. This was not just a small introduction to the kingship and the importance of the royal omega, no.
This was the reminder that an attack against Igor Konstantin was an attack against the king. And none who had ever attacked the king had lived that long. Life was being given another meaning and the people inside this very room had the power to decide whether Kawai was a military state.
That meant that the children would be forced to pick up arms. That all the women, including the old ones, would be equipped for the war. No one would be considered a child unless they were under two years old.
That was not what anyone wanted for their children, which was also why the warriors were listening keenly.
"My Lord, how imminent is the attack?" one of the warriors asked sincerely.
There was no mockery in his tone or a question of why they would go to war for an omega who was walking around with a masked scent. It was a crazy time for them, but life was not to be played with, which was why all bases had to be covered.
"An attempt was made during the prince’s rut, which is why there was a festival right outside the place. We have traitors among us; Lycan traitors who would do whatever it takes to bring down the kingship.
"Many assume that a heartbroken prince will equal an inefficient king, but what they keep forgetting is that the books of the old didn’t do justice to the king’s power and cruelty.
"If the attack is left to proceed, then the realm as we know it will cease to exist and rightfully so. Do you understand, warrior?" Danny asked, his tone sincere too. They were here as the leaders and the critical thinkers of Kawai.
They were here to figure out the best plan of action and more than anything, they were here to see to it that no one was used against the people of Kawai, because that was what this was.
An attack on Konstantin was an attack against Kawai and it wouldn’t be left to see light.
That was how dangerous this was.
"Yes, My Lord," the warrior said and Danny just nodded.
"To add to what Lord Daniel said, we suspect the warlock Zula and a few Lycan warriors. As you may have noticed, my scent is masked, but not because I am afraid of going to the battlefield and getting manipulated again.
"The prince’s rut blocked all chances of any manipulation of the mate bond. My scent is masked to ensure everyone keeps a level mind on the battlefield. We don’t want to have to worry about an omega when we are fighting with the crazies out there.
"I have fought beside most of you and you know my abilities. I am not asking you to trust me or anything. I am telling you that with or without your trust, I will be on that battlefield, fighting for what we all swore when we all joined the Kawai army corp.
"My barbarians and I will be on the frontline as usual," Kosta added and they stared at him proudly. This was the warrior they had known. They had felt the conviction in Igor’s voice and hence they were glad to be on the same page as him.
The barbarian was the warrior that warriors would always want to fight alongside, because most of the time, the mad king always went to war with just Lord Sadako.
This right here was their chance to see the skills that the wild Chief had learned over the years. It was easily the best thing for them regardless of what happens along the way.
"We are proud and ready to serve alongside you, Chief. It has always been our pleasure and greatest achievement," one warrior on the council said and soon they stood and clapped in acknowledgment of the wild Lycan they had traversed ages with.
It was not something new to them and it was understandable that they agreed without having to be pushed as fast by anyone.
The king watched his Lycan Chief with pride.
He had always known choosing Kosta was never a mistake back when he had gotten the omega the job and now, he could tell that they had agreed because they trusted the Chief.
And not because they were scared of what would happen to them if they rejected the Lycan Chief. It was interesting, seeing how the last Lycan ministers had been turned into. But then what the fuck was it all supposed to be then?
"Great. Now that the first agenda is done, the second one is the coronation ceremony of the price. That is going to be postponed and necessary measures need to be taken to that.
"Make sure to talk to the warriors assigned to you and let them know what’s expected of them. We want to finalize the wars before any coronation talks begin. Tell them what is at stake and let them know what is expected of them.
"It is a delicate matter, but it is not important. The next in line to the Kawai crown is Prince Kaito Hinata or as many of you know by now, Tamiko," Danny said with a tone of finality, letting the ministers know that this wasn’t up for discussion.
They had their duties and they had to tend to them or risk the safety of their people. It was that easy and however risky it all was, this was what had to be done. They had been prepared for this for the longest time either way.
Besides, Kawai was their home.
"The third agenda, will be addressed by Lord Sadako," Danny said and the ministers looked at each other, wondering why this was something that had to be addressed by the Lycan Lord himself.
Lord Sadako never addressed people.
Not when the king was there with them, Sadako only ever enforced the king’s orders, and yet as they looked at each other, they could see that this was truly happening. And that was scary for the ministers and the guards in the council room.
It was way scarier than the fact that they had an omega going to war with them. An omega who did not lead them into a war that was meant to avenge him. This war was insanity, but perhaps it was something that they had to listen to, right?
"The third and last agenda of this meeting is the Kawai massacrethat happened twenty-six years ago," Lord Sadako said coldly and everyone stiffened, save for the royals who had long seen this coming.
