CHAPTER 345: OF GOLDEN SAPPHIRES

[GREALOR]

"What the fuck?" Gabe asked and the Lycans began growling at the wolves angrily. The thought of the Kawai massacre was never the prettiest and it made them ask so many questions along the way.

No one had ever been prepared to face that part of their lives, and with the ministers here too, they all knew there was only one way out of there for the rogues who had refused to leave. So, when Konstantin voiced it, all hell truly broke loose.

"Kill. Them. All." Igor ordered and the murders began. The Lycans were not playing with their enemies anymore. It wasn’t just about killing the revolters, no. It was about killing the race that had killed their mothers and sisters.

This right here was for vengeance and when Ciel saw what was happening, he knew he had to get out of there. He knew that there was no assurity that even Gabriel would be able to save them from this.

"We need to leave, Gabriel," Ciel said to Gabe who was still shocked. He hadn’t expected that the secrets his father kept would always grow worse by the day. He hadn’t imagined that it would ever be like this and it was frustrating.

"Why the fuck did you say that to them? Do you realize what you just did?" Gabe asked and Ciel stared at him in confusion. However, that didn’t last long because there were warriors headed towards them.

They wanted their blood and honestly, Ciel wasn’t in the mood to die today. So, he grabbed Gabriel and began running in the direction of Grealor. This was their chance to skip the field now that the rules had changed.

Mercy was never going to come and they had to be ready for whatever was headed for them, which was waging war. Oh, but they were fucked in all the ways to a hell they had created for themselves.

"The truth will always come out Gabriel. It is not pretty, but it is what it is. Besides, you told them to step out earlier. They didn’t. If they get murdered that is not on you," Ciel said coldly and Gabe sighed.

"Fuck!!" he growled when he reached the borders of Grealor and there were Lycan warriors behind them. The warriors had their Chief’s orders that they had to follow.

This also meant that breaching Grealor was not something they would be punished for. Gabe knew what this would mean. He understood it a little too well and he hated what he had to do to make things right.

He hated what was coming next and he despised the way that his hands were being forced on shit he hadn’t wanted to deal with. But fate was always going to be fate and this was just the beginning of the end of them.

"Tell them to close the borders, Gabriel!" Ciel shouted when more Lycan warriors came to the borders of Grealor. They were running after a few rogues who had finally realized what the state of things was.

It was probably too late for them on so many fronts, but then what the fuck was that even supposed to mean for them? At the end of the day, they had to wait and hope that all would be better. But even they knew the bitter truth.

Nothing would be better.

Nothing would ever be the same anymore.

"Gabe!" Ciel shouted and Gabe sighed frustratedly. He felt like punching a lot of things at the moment. He felt like everything was getting fucked and there wasn’t much that he could do to make it right.

"No. We can fight then," Gabe insisted as more Grealor warriors rushed to help. The warriors didn’t know what was coming for them, but Gabe knew.

He knew that the Lycans wouldn’t stop unless they were called back. But there were still more rogues out there, people that they had to save; they had to try even if it sounded suicidal.

"You realize you are asking the worst from us?" Ciel asked and Gabe just stared at him disinterestedly. He knew that this wasn’t something that he had to do, but he needed to save his people.

He had to do right by them because his father had brainwashed them a lot and gotten them this desperate for something that they didn’t need. His father had been the one to fuck up the wolves and Gabe wouldn’t let them suffer for it.

"You either join the fight or go hide under your bed, Ciel. Pick one. My warriors and I will hold the fort until the last of our surviving wolves comes into the pack," Gabe insisted and Ciel sighed.

He hadn’t expected that this would happen or the way that the Lycans were raging and killing their kin. He hadn’t thought much about it when he had said that little truth.

He had assumed that the Lycans knew about it, and clearly, he had been wrong. For a moment, he contemplated going back into Grealor and letting the other wolves do whatever the fuck they wanted with their lives.

He contemplated letting Gabe and the other warriors fight alone, but then Ciel couldn’t. He knew that Judd would have never left Gabe’s side. His mate had loved Gabriel and loyalty was all Judd ever lived for.

If Ciel was disloyal to the Alpha that Judd served then all of this wouldn’t mean shit, if ever he got his vengeance on the Kawai Lycan Lord. It wouldn’t feel as rewarding, so Ciel sighed and grabbed the nearest weapon, ready to fight.

He hated it, so very much but he had to do this. He had to fight for Grealor. For the home that they had all sworn to protect from enemies. He was a warrior and Grealor was his homeland.

He had to fight for them.

For home.

"Fuck, fine," Ciel said as he joined the Grealor warriors in combat. The Lycans were brutal with their magic and their weapons, but the wolves didn’t relent. They fought for their people. They fought for what they believed in.

They fought to protect their race and for the Lycans to let them be. They fought and fought, and while they managed to injure a few Lycans, they knew that this was the beginning of the end for them.

This was worse than hell.

This was what they had been done for and no one would save them from here on out. Perhaps if they had a little help, they would find themselves winning this, right?

Or was that the reason Zula showed up, and created a barrier between the Lycans and the Grealor wolves? Was that why she stepped forward and made the most daring challenge of all their lives? Was this right, or was it stupidity at its peak?

"Igor Konstantin!" Zula called out, and Gabe stared at the mad woman. This wasn’t part of the plan. They didn’t want a harsher war with the Lycans. Igor was not to be touched and yet Zula seemed to be thinking for herself.

This was going to cost them more than they had planned for and damn was Gabe worried about the outcome. He didn’t like this, not one bit, but what the fuck could he do?

"Zula, no!" Gabriel tried and Zula just scoffed at him.

"Let’s settle this, one-on-one, Igor. If you beat me, you can kill the remaining rogues. But if I best you, you give us Sanjiro," Zula said, ignoring Gabrie’s attempts to stop her.
