Versatile Mage: The Young Master of Zhou Family
Chapter 53 53: The Liu Sisters, Liu Xian & Liu Ru
Zhou Haoyu examined the pair of sisters sitting opposite him. Liu Xian and Liu Ru looked about eighty percent alike—much more similar than Mu Nujiao and Mu Nuxin.
Though they were twins, Liu Xian was clearly far more mature. Her professional outfit elegantly outlined her figure, exuding grace and charm.
Liu Ru, on the other hand, was still inexperienced and appeared more youthful and innocent.
"My sister was only able to become a Mage thanks to Young Master Zhou's help. I've never had the chance to thank you," Liu Xian said gratefully.
"Hehe, no need for thanks," Zhou Haoyu replied.
"Big Sis, Brother Zhou is here for serious business. Stop holding his hand already," Liu Ru said a little jealously.
Liu Xian looked down and found that she really was still holding Zhou Haoyu's hand. Her cheeks flushed slightly with embarrassment.
She hadn't expected that this 'Young Master Zhou' her sister always talked about would actually be this handsome.
Talented, good-looking, from a great family—he didn't seem to have a single flaw. (ps: Just like all you handsome bros.)
Cough cough.
Zhou Haoyu cleared his throat and turned to Liu Xian. "Let's talk business. Have you noticed anyone tailing you recently or anything unusual?"
"Tailing…?"
Liu Ru was shocked—why would someone be following her sister?
Could they really be stalked?
Liu Xian looked startled, then her expression turned hesitant, as if she was unsure whether to say something.
"There have already been several young girls killed in Magic City recently. The internet calls them accidents, but in the Mage world, there are no such coincidences.
"To my knowledge, there are Blood Tribe hiding in this city—what people normally call Vampires. They specifically target youthful, pretty girls."
Zhou Haoyu didn't hide anything and laid the danger out clearly, which made it easier for his plans later.
"Vampires?!"
Liu Ru's face was full of disbelief. "Aren't Vampires just urban legends? How could they be real…"
"Just because it's a legend doesn't mean it's fake," Zhou Haoyu said calmly.
There must be a top-tier Vampire among them—otherwise Magic City wouldn't just turn a blind eye.
Liu Xian lowered her head in silence, her hands clenched tightly, a trace of fear flashing in her eyes.
Liu Ru noticed her sister acting strangely and said, "Sis… don't tell me you've really been targeted by a Vampire?"
"I'm not sure. Sometimes I feel like there's a shadow following me, but whenever I turn around there's nothing there," Liu Xian said.
Liu Xian was nervous. As an ordinary person, she had no chance of fighting back against a Vampire.
If she died, her younger sister would be left all alone.
"Whether it's true or not—we'll find out," Zhou Haoyu smiled.
He believed Liu Xian's instincts. That shadow was most likely Nie Dong.
Vampires were Dark Creatures—technically a kind of Undead. Blending into shadows was perfectly normal for them.
"Won't this be too dangerous?" Liu Ru asked worriedly.
"Don't worry. I'll prepare everything. Tomorrow night, Liu Xian, just head home like usual." Zhou Haoyu said.
"But I can't afford to pay a commission…" Liu Xian looked embarrassed. She had spent everything on her sister's schooling the past two years.
Zhou Haoyu understood their circumstances well and said, "I happen to need Vampire Blood Fangs. No commission necessary."
As long as the treasure chest condition was met, commission fees were meaningless.
At night.
Just in case, Zhou Haoyu specifically called over Zhao Manyan, a Light Element Mage.
"Bro Yu, you've really got it good—two at once, and they're twins!" Zhao Manyan looked Liu Ru over, waggling his eyebrows.
Even though he'd deliberately lowered his voice, Liu Ru clearly heard him. Her face turned red, eyes flustered as she pretended not to.
"Enough nonsense. I'm here to kill Vampires," Zhou Haoyu said flatly.
"I get you~ but don't tell me you don't have any intentions?" Zhao Manyan smirked.
Zhou Haoyu glared at him. Was this guy never going to shut up?
Seeing Zhou Haoyu getting annoyed, Zhao Manyan finally closed his mouth.
"Brother Zhou, is it that person?"
Liu Ru pointed outside at a black-robed figure. The large hood covered the entire face as he silently followed behind Liu Xian.
With a thought, Zhou Haoyu sent out an invisible hand to grab the robed man, locking him firmly in place.
"Holy crap, Bro Yu! You're this strong already—why do you even need my help?" Zhao Manyan's eyes went wide. He hadn't even reacted before it was done.
Zhou Haoyu didn't reply—he just kept increasing the pressure, trying to crush the black-robed man on the spot.
"Ahhh!!!"
The black-robed man let out a sharp, ear-piercing scream as his body twisted violently—bang!—bursting into a cloud of blood mist.
Just when Zhou Haoyu thought he had succeeded, the blood mist gathered together, forming a massive blood claw that forcibly tore free from the Invisible Hand.
Once free, Nie Dong immediately transformed—his body wrapped in leathery wings like some kind of skin cocoon, bones protruding grotesquely—as he shot into the air, fleeing toward the street outside.
Judging by that ability, the enemy was definitely an Advanced Mage—someone he absolutely couldn't provoke head-on.
As long as he reached a populated area, he could hide himself again. Once he drank enough fresh blood, he would recover to his peak condition!
"Vampires really do have terrifying vitality."
Zhou Haoyu was slightly surprised, but instead of rushing after him, he calmly took a sip of coffee.
Liu Ru was near frantic—but didn't know how to urge Zhou Haoyu.
Even though her sister was safe for the moment, if that Vampire escaped, he would definitely take revenge later!
Under the night sky, Nie Dong glanced back. Seeing no one behind him, he secretly sighed in relief.
Maybe it was just a passing Advanced Mage.
BANG!!!
Nie Dong's head suddenly smashed into an invisible, colorless barrier.
Ignoring the pain, a deep terror rose in his heart—being able to set up a Spatial Barrier from such a distance… what level of cultivation was that?
Could that man be… Super-Tier?!
"Illumination!"
At that moment, a massive Light spell blasted upward from below, burning his body like holy flames.
Against Vampires—creatures of darkness—Light Element Magic was far more effective than any other spell.
The most critical thing… was that it inflicted pain straight into the soul!
