Chapter 247: Lotus Tempest Pagoda!
CHAPTER 247: LOTUS TEMPEST PAGODA!
Lotus Tempest Pagoda!
The storm howled in response. Threads of wind qi spiraled from his palms, condensing into a towering pagoda shaped like a lotus in bloom.
This pagoda had three floors, each enveloped by lotus petals.
Han Wuji clasped his hands together, his eyes closing as the world’s breath seemed to pause with him. Then he opened them, cold and merciless.
Pagoda First Floor!
The petals of the first layer unfurled like the awakening of a godly lotus. Within, a massive halberd forged entirely of condensed storm qi materialized, its blade glowing with cyan lightning.
The pagoda rotated itself, pointing the halberd’s tip towards Qin Feng.
Boom!
It tore through the air, shattering the sound barrier and leaving behind a shriek of displaced wind.
Qin Feng sensed it instantly, but his hands were still locked in the struggle against the raging cyclone. If he faltered now, the storm would devour everything—including his allies.
His mind raced. A single moment of hesitation could spell death.
He flicked his fingers, summoning dozens of tiny blood-forged swords that shot forward to intercept the halberd.
Swoosh!
The halberd cleaved through them as though slicing through silk. Qin Feng’s pupils contracted. With no time to spare, he swung his Blood Demon Sword, meeting the halberd head-on.
Clang!
The clash erupted in a shockwave that sent crimson energy rippling through the ground. The force behind the halberd was monstrous—it blasted the Blood Demon Sword from Qin Feng’s grasp, sending it spinning into the distance.
For the first time, Qin Feng felt naked— This sword improved his blood path skills, and without it, he felt lackluster.
The next layer of petals bloomed, unveiling a wind-forged lance, its surface carved with runes of piercing intent. Even the air around it trembled as though afraid to approach.
Boom!
The lance shot forward, spinning at blinding speed—its spiraling motion amplifying its destructive power.
Qin Feng’s instincts screamed danger. He slammed his hands on the ground, and crimson light erupted beneath him.
A forest of blood-crystal spikes surged upward, stabbing toward the heavens to intercept the lance.
Drill! Drill! Drill!
The shriek of friction filled the air as the lance drilled through the spikes, tearing through layers of defense like an auger through sand. Yet, each spike slightly altered its trajectory—twisting its aim just enough for Qin Feng to sidestep it at the last possible instant.
A gust sliced his cheek open, drawing a thin line of blood.
Han Wuji’s brows lifted, almost impressed. "Not bad."
But he wasn’t done.
Pagoda—Final Floor!
The last tier of the lotus unfolded, revealing a spinning wind disk, rotating so rapidly that it blurred into a circular halo. The space around it distorted, and the air screamed in protest.
Then—Boom!—it launched forward.
The disk whirled toward Qin Feng with incomprehensible speed, carving a straight path through the battlefield.
Qin Feng raised another wall of crimson spikes, trying to repeat his earlier success—but this time, the disk sliced through them effortlessly. Each spike shattered like brittle glass.
His eyes widened. Too fast. Too sharp.
He bent his knees to dodge—but before he could move, a massive shadow loomed behind him.
The four-armed crimson gorilla, one of the spirit beasts under Ashen’s command, lunged from his blind spot. Its arms, thick as stone pillars, wrapped around Qin Feng’s torso, locking him in an iron embrace.
"Damn it!" Qin Feng gritted his teeth, blood qi surging wildly. If this were any other time, he could have broken free. But now, with the cyclone still raging and the wind disk descending, his strength was split too thin.
The air screamed as the disk drew closer—its edge glimmering like a blade meant to slice through fate itself.
"No!!"
Wang Biao’s voice pierced the chaos like a desperate prayer.
She instantly activated the treasure of the tribe that was supposed to save her life in the moment of danger — The divine earrings.
As the earrings activated, they shone and reacted as per the will of their user. Her body vanished from her original spot and reappeared in front of Qin Feng.
In that instant, a celestial shield unfolded before her, golden light intertwining like divine silk.
BOOM!
The disk collided with the shield, releasing an explosion of storm and light that engulfed half the battlefield.
Crack!
A fracture ran down the golden earrings, their glow dimming—they had reached their limit.
When the smoke cleared, Qin Feng was still alive—but the cost was written across Wang Biao’s trembling form.
Han Wuji’s expression darkened. "Still alive?"
Before he could react further, Ashen moved.
His figure blurred, appearing behind the gorilla in an instant using SightStep. He activated temporal Deceleration to slow down time to be sure to finish the task.
Sword qi spiraled from his body like a storm of blades, aimed to cut down both the gorilla and Qin Feng in one strike.
But before his strike could land, as if squeezing the last bit of remaining power of the earrings, Wang Biao teleported in front of Ashen; however, the earring couldn’t conjure the shield again, letting Wang Biao suffer the full attack of the whirling swords made of pure sword qi.
Even with the temporal deceleration in effect, she still saved Qin Feng.
Clang!
Ashen felt his whip-like sword collide with a shield created by a defensive artifact that Wang Biao was wearing; however, the defense crumbled under the ferocity of pure sword qi. The blade grazed her throat, slicing deep enough for crimson to burst forth.
Splurt!
Blood sprayed into the air as she collapsed with a dull thud, her body trembling, her life force flickering like a candle in a storm.
Ashen barely glanced at her as he tried to attack again to finish Qin Feng for good.
However,
But before he could strike, blood vines erupted from the ground, slashing toward his neck with frightening precision.
Ashen’s pupils shrank.
It was only due to temporal deceleration that he could react in time and dodge the vines by moving his neck to the side.
The SightStep was still on cooldown, so he couldn’t use it to escape.
The vines pierced through everything else—slaughtering all the spirit beasts except the crimson gorilla, which roared in agony, half its body shredded.
Ashen flew to Han Wuji’s side, his face turning grim:
"Han Wuji! Use the teleportation talisman—we’re leaving!"
Without hesitation, Han Wuji tore the talisman in half. A surge of spatial qi enveloped them, and within moments, the two vanished into the air like mist.
The battlefield fell silent—except for the low hum of fading qi and the soft sound of blood dripping onto the ground.
Then, a new presence descended.
A man appeared beside Wang Biao’s fallen body. His robes fluttered in the lingering storm, stained with ancient sigils of blood and frost. His expression was unreadable as he pulled a frozen orb from his spatial ring.
He placed it above Wang Biao’s body, activating it with a drop of his own blood.
Cold qi burst outward, crystallizing the ground around her until she lay encased within an ice cage, her wounds sealed in frozen time.
The man’s composure finally broke. His shoulders trembled, his eyes glistening with tears.
"I told you... Not to do anything foolish, my daughter," he whispered.
The Blood Demon Lord!
The mere weight of his aura caused the air to warp, and even the dying crimson gorilla trembled in fear.
Qin Feng struggled free of the beast’s grasp and stumbled forward. His knees hit the ground before the Blood Demon Lord.
"Master..." his voice cracked with guilt. "Kill me! It’s my fault! Because of me, Biao—"
The Blood Demon Lord raised a hand, silencing him. His sigh carried centuries of fatigue.
"No, Qin Feng. She wouldn’t want that."
He looked toward the frozen body of his daughter, his gaze softening with sorrow.
"She’s not dead," he said quietly. "I’ve sealed her within frozen time. Her life is suspended. If we can find the right cure, we can bring her back."
He turned his gaze to the horizon, his voice heavy with resolve.
"This treasure will preserve her body for ten years. Within that time... we must find a way to save her."
