CHAPTER 266: GLIMPSE!

The information about Ashen was scarce; not much was known about him.

The expedition groups had been warned about him; however, not much was known of him.

They could only remain vigilant and keep an eye on Ashen.

Ashen, on the other hand, was focused on something else.

Sitting on the back of Moyun, he listened to the conversation of Hu Shui and her lover, the core-formation realm abyssal tide tiger, Cang Chao.

"Hu Shui, It’s nice that I can accompany you again." Cang Chao said with a smile. "I was worried about you."

"Hmm, I missed you too." Hu Shui replied with a similar smile, sitting on Cang Chao’s back.

Since she had a human body now, Cang Chao was much larger in size than her.

"Huan Tian, Why won’t you let me ride with you?" Ni Yan, who was forced to sit on another core-formation realm tiger, whined.

Ashen simply ignored her, focusing on the happy moments of Cang Chao and Hu Shui.

At this moment, their expedition encountered their first group of hostile beasts.

This group was mainly made up of two-legged boars!

They were huge beasts that walked on two legs like humans; however, they were hideous-looking with their boar heads.

They were more than ten meters tall with a huge club in their hands. The club appeared as if it was carved from a huge boulder.

There were eight King realm boars among them, and the remaining were core-formation realm.

"Kill these humans and we will be rewarded by the Bull Emperor." The tallest boar roared. "Attack!"

The Yedu Tribe was the one responsible for taking care of them, and hence, none of the other tribes helped unless an attack was directed at them.

The Yedu tribe made use of their poison skills to first poison the boars. They then stalled for time, letting the poison take effect and make the boars slower.

The weaker boars fell on their own, and the stronger boars swung their clubs in vain as they had become too slow.

Seeing his army losing, The leader boar, the tallest among them, yelled, "Brothers, retreat!!"

The boars then scattered into the forest, running for their lives.

Yedu Wuyan let them leave, knowing that they will die soon enough due to the poison.

Next was the Xue Mo Tribe’s turn to fend off the enemy that appeared next.

It was a much larger and stronger army; however, with Qin Feng’s blood arts, it was easy for him to defeat them.

The next was Mei Xueyao.

They didn’t win overwhelmingly like the previous two; instead, they used strategies to obtain victory.

Finally, the turn of the Zhuji tribe came as Fanrong excitedly stepped up for the challenge.

Their opponents were the strongest till now; however, with Huan Shou, Kui Long, and other prefecture lords commanding their beasts skillfully, it was easy for them to defeat their opponents.

As they moved forward, bodies of the boars who had previously run off could also be seen on their way, making Yedu Wuyan raise his head proudly.

Like this, battling different beasts turn by turn, they were able to reach the center of the forest in under forty hours.

"I sense the qi of the treasure!" Mei Xueyao yelled from the front.

She was in the front of the group right now as they entered the central area of the forest.

"I sense it too!" Huan Shou yelled, informing the other prefecture lords and Fanrong.

Though Ashen also sensed it, he didn’t feel the need to yell to everyone.

Yedu Wuyan and Qin Feng’s group sensed it too once they got a little closer.

"Let’s make haste!" Mei Xueyao suggested increasing her speed towards the direction from which the qi emanated.

Following after her, the group arrived in a visible range of the treasure.

It was five kilometers away from them; however, with their heightened sense of sight that came from being a king realm cultivator, they could see that far easily.

Cradled within a lotus of crystalline jade, a single droplet of radiant liquid floated serenely, glowing with hues of gold and green.

It pulsed like a heartbeat, exuding a faint fragrance that could make even withered grass sprout anew.

Wherever its light touched, life stirred—flowers bloomed, wounds knit, and dying birds regained breath.

It had been named ’The Eternal Life Dew’ by the enigmatic path cultivators.

It can cure any wound, poison, or disease and even restore one’s vitality from the brink of death.

However, its divine law forbids greed: once its power touches a being, it will never respond to them again.

Moreover, the dew renews only once every hundred years, allowing but a single chance each century for a new miracle.

As everyone looked dazedly at the treasure, the voice of Yedu Wuyan jolted them awake as he pointed in one direction:

"Look! The righteous bastards have also arrived."

As everyone followed his finger’s direction, their gazes fell on the group of righteous tribes’ expedition group.

Leading them was a beauty with an icy sword in hand, the QingLong Sect’s genius—Wang Ling-Er.

Her obsidian black hair was tied neatly, revealing her pale skin and smooth face with reddened lips.

However, her icy blue eyes were cold, as if warning others to stay away from her.

Behind her were Qin Feng’s friends, whom Ashen recognized from the movie that system showed him.

His senior sister Zhu Ling, along with Qi Nao.

There were also others from other tribes, like the Tian Jian Tribe, who specialized in the sword path; the Baihu Tribe, who specialized in the strength path; and the Tianlu Tribe, who used celestial path skills.

The Tianlu tribe’s group was bald and was known as monks by the other tribes.

The righteous tribes took out tents from their space rings and began making a camp to keep an eye on the treasure.

There were still eight hours left in the three-day period.

Moreover, numerous beasts guarded the treasure right now.

Engaging them thoughtlessly would only give the third party a chance to take advantage of them.

Everybody knew that waiting for the time when only an hour or two would be left would be the moment to strike!

Till then, they only had to watch over the treasure and ensure that no one else took it for themselves.

Moreover, if someone prematurely goes for the treasure, they will be targeted by everyone present. No one would be foolish enough to try something alone.
