[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor
Chapter 386 - 385 – UTO emergency meeting.
[Current location: Real life – UTO headquarters – Meeting room.]
"Em… Okay…. I'm going to ask this straight." – said the bald man in the suit.
"What the actual fuck?"
"Why the hell there are so many wars going on everywhere all at once?!"
"True…. This is really abnormal." – said the woman with the glasses.
"The number of the faction quest are popping up way too fast and way too many times."
"Hell, 1, 2 or 3 wars at the same time is fine, since this is extremely massive ass world where all the players through the whole globe plays on this single sever all the time…. But now? Things are going ay too fast!"
"Hell! Take this quest for example. [Gate To Steal The Fire]. The quest that revolves around stealing the power from the goodness Akima, the one about fire and beauty." – said the woman as she touched the touch skin table and took out a folder with pictures and quest information.
"This is quest was one of the quest we personally made, a quest that was meant to kill the god."
"It wasn't a generated quest or anything, it was ours."
"But this quest wasn't made to be done so soon! Hell, the requirements and all other things that are attached to this thing would take years!"
"And yet some guy just completed it so fast?!"
"Wait…. So, one of the most powerful beings in the game, the [god] type entity, is just about to die?" – asked the man with black circles under his eyes.
"Shit…. This isn't good…. Once the first god falls, it won't honestly take long for another one to also fallow."
"Wowowowow. Stop." – said the young man with black hair.
"Aren't you rushing it too much? If one god dies, that doesn't really mean that next one would just die as well."
"I don't know about this." – said the worried woman with the glasses as she took out another file, this time containing the informations about the Pilaf organization.
"The anty another world organization Pilaf has been gaining more and more power way too fast."
"At first they were supposed to be a slow moving organization that would start speeding up more and more, while also possibility having more players join their ranks."
"Simple put, they are one of most important factions in this whole word."
"But because of how often the wars are going on, it is straight up causing them to be way more activate than they should had been."
"At this point it wouldn't be surprised if a quest is generated where they have to either wound or maybe just straight up kill a god."
"Wait…. Are you saying that the current situation with the wars is also causing one of the most important factions that were supposed to be less active to be just now taking part in everything?!" – asked the bald man.
"Shit! What is even causing those wars in the first place?!"
"…"
"Players." – said the man with black circles under his eyes.
"We knew that the players were at the stage where their actions started influencing the world around them, but still, their influence is way too heavy!"
"Hell! Some of the most powerful players are affecting even powerful factions."
"Player that goes by nickname Magnus is one of the best examples, as well as faction he is part of that worships the god of deep sea, with his actions the mid ranking hell god is gaining more and more power, influence and faith."
"And at the rate this are going? He may end up helping out the mid rank demon god become a high rank demon god."
"…."
"Then, isn't there any way to stop the players influence? Or at least make so that the wars would be happening way less often?" – asked the young man with black hair.
*Sigh*
"That is a bloody fucking problem here…. We can't." – said the woman with the glasses as she held her head in annoyance.
"We could had done something before, but now? Even if we did took some actions, they would just end up instead being destroyed by the players."
"So nope. We can't do anything…."
"…."
"This isn't really a good thing, is it?" – said the bald man.
"The game was meant to be played for over between 10 to 20 years."
"That how the big world is."
"But based on how things are going, the game will reach one of its endings in only between 2-5 years?!"
"We knew that the original analyzes of the 10 to 20 years won't be correct, since no matter the game, players are players…. But this? This is just too much, even beyond our predictions." – said the man with black circles under his eyes.
"Honestly, at the rate things are going, we maybe consider starting preparing to make the next game."
"Next game!? Are you fucking nuts!?" – shouted the blond woman that was quiet through the whole conversation until now.
"Do you know how much time and money that would cost?!"
"But didn't we already earned millions with ease thanks to UTO?" – asked the bald man.
"Preparing to create a new game would be a good choice…. Maybe we could even create branching companies that focuses on different game genres?"
"Okay, okay. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop and stop." – said the woman with the glasses.
"I know how the talk about new game is important and all, but right now we need to focus on our current issue at hand.
"Specifically our current game that is dominating the market."
"At the rate things are, the newer players will be straight up thrown into war zone and won't be able to grow in strength at all, resulting in them even being forced to quiet or have the "boosters" help them out in hunting, meaning we would be forcing players to hire others players with their own money, in order for them to even try and play the game."
"Hm…. Then how about EXP boost…. No…. No. This wouldn't deal with the main issue." – said the black haired man who tried suggesting his own idea, before then stopping.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Nope…. I can't think of anything." – said the black haired young man.
"We need to deal with the problem at the core."
"And that would be the wars."
"Okay, but again. How do we deal with them?"
"Hell! How do we slow down the players!?"
"…"
"We can't." – said the man on chair that had a sign table in front of him with CEO written on it.
"There is really no way we can stop the current players."
"I mean, you said it. No matter what we would do, the players would just destroy our means of slowing them down."
"So yea, give up."
"Maybe in the future we will make a game that won't have this kind of issue, but the current situation? Yea, it is better if we give up on trying to control and instead focus on improving the new players situation."
"Weaken the death penalty. Increased EXP and non-exchangeable starting money increase."
"These 3 things should do it for all players below level 100… And if things star getting really tough, then maybe increase that bonus to level 200, but obviously make it weaker if you plan on doing that."
"And then? Well, who knows?"
"The players are the one writing the story of that world."
Emergency meeting.
A emergency meeting was held amongst the highest ranking people of power within the UTO company.
The reason?
War.
Or more exactly wars.
It wasn't just Phantasia and his team doing, who are just going around, joining or causing wars left and right with their actions, no.
It is the entire world of that game.
Players actions are pushing forward many plots hidden within the game, so fast that they are colliding with each other, causing chain reactions and even making some kingdoms start fighting each other.
For example, one of the recent wars that the Phantasia and his gang took part in wasn't their doing, it was the doing of the players from the empire, that helped out in the holy empire repairs and the player that helped out the demonic god of fire and questions, lending them the hand to the god in their quest, allowing the goodness Akima to be left in the state where only death awaited her.
It was all the players doing. Everything. From the very start it was all their vault.
And right now? Because of their actions? Chaos is spreading through the entire world of the game.
Players are no longer "allowed" but instead forced to choose their factions if they wish to do anything.
And on top of it all? Wars.
Wars are breaking out left and right.
Some small, but sometimes a massive wars between kingdoms does broke out, with some kingdoms already being erased.
Obviously it is not like every single kingdom out there is having a war at the moment or anything, nor it is like a half of the war is engulfed in the flames of war.
…
But the problem is that it is spreading and growing way too fast.
Too many faction quest are popping out everywhere, alarming the company who realized the grim truth.
It is just a matter of time before this entire world will be full consumed by one massive war.
The war that could end that world of game.
