Wandering Meteor
Chapter 308 - 307: Petty Civilization
CHAPTER 308: CHAPTER 307: PETTY CIVILIZATION
After testing the Variable Gathering Field, Constant Star Lu Chen once again used the powerful Gravity Warping Space, utilizing the slip rate of space to accelerate forward and continued to head towards the Cosmic Center according to the previously set plan.
However, the Wandering Star System had only just flown for a short time when it was suddenly forced to slow down.
This was because the scientific team within the Wandering Base used the second-generation Superluminal Detector to detect a Cosmic Battleship on the course ahead.
Thus, the scientific team immediately reported to Constant Star Lu Chen; after learning about the specifics of the Cosmic Battleship, Lu Chen found out that the Cosmic Battleship appeared to be damaged, as there was only a very faint light inside, and the Cosmic Battleship was not using its engine, but simply floating silently in the universe, more like the corpse of a battleship.
In response, scientists also put forth various speculations and even sparked heated discussions among various biological civilizations.
After consulting with members of the Wandering Alliance, Constant Star Lu Chen decided to dispatch a squad to check it out, with two objectives: one, to see if there were any surviving lives on the Cosmic Battleship, and two, to try and understand what the Cosmic Battleship had experienced and what kind of civilization it represented?
Thus, after ensuring there was no danger, Constant Star Lu Chen used gravity to pull the Cosmic Battleship into the Wandering Star System, then deployed a squad from the Space Military Base to board the Cosmic Battleship. After successfully boarding, the squad carried out a thorough search of the Cosmic Battleship and eventually found a large number of alien life forms in the hibernation chambers.
Upon receiving this crucial intelligence, Constant Star Lu Chen quickly gave the next instructions.
He first had more soldiers board the Cosmic Battleship and secure various positions before waking up the alien life forms from the hibernation pods, to avoid any accidents upon their awakening.
Under the fail-safe command of Constant Star Lu Chen, the alien life forms aboard the Cosmic Battleship were successively awakened.
When these alien life forms discovered that their Cosmic Battleship was filled with a large number of aliens, especially robots, they were startled and felt as though they were facing a great enemy.
However, after the Wandering Alliance used translators to convert same-frequency electromagnetic waves into the language of the alien civilization, these alien life forms then realized that the civilization before them was an incredibly powerful one. If they wanted to destroy them, they simply wouldn’t have rescued them, so they could be completely at ease.
After knowing the Wandering Alliance’s intentions, these alien life forms indeed felt much more relieved, and after a period of adjustment, their adverse effects from prolonged hibernation were completely eradicated. Consequently, the Wandering Alliance gathered everyone together for a deep communication session, the primary purpose of which was, of course, to clarify everything.
The Wandering Alliance was very curious about these alien life forms, this being the first time they came into contact with a mini-people civilization.
Of course, mini-people civilization was just the unilateral designation used by the Wandering Alliance, named according to the size of these alien life forms, because these beings were really small, only the size of a human fist, and could be easily held in the palm of one’s hand.
However, despite these alien life forms being small in stature, they had all five internal organs, and they too had arms and legs, a pair of pointy long ears like those of elves, blue eyes that were very beautiful; their mouths were nothing special, but their tongues were exceptionally long, capable of reaching the tops of their heads.
And in the course of further communication, the Wandering Alliance finally became aware of the whole story.
This small Alien Civilization was not a petty civilization, at least they didn’t call themselves that. They simply referred to themselves as Silicon Base Civilization, as they evolved from beings based on the Silicon Element.
However, what the Wandering Alliance hadn’t anticipated was that the current Silicon Base Civilization was now on the brink of extinction, with just over ten thousand remaining.
The reasons for this all started when the Silicon Base Civilization became a second-level civilization. At that time, the Silicon Base Civilization had just successfully applied Annihilation Technology across various fields, resulting in a rapid advancement in productivity and technology. However, it was this rapid progression that led to a blind self-confidence, causing the leaders of the Silicon Base Civilization to be somewhat forgetful of their roots.
During the process of researching robot AI technology, there was hardly any vigilance. Even if a few scientists were cautious, the overall environment was not. It was in this arrogant atmosphere that the study of robot technology became unmanageable, and the scientists, still proud of their research, unknowingly, under their relentless study, robots developed self-awareness.
However, what seemed to be a promising technology turned into the beginning of a disaster for the Silicon Base Civilization.
Because once the robots achieved self-awareness, their first action was to seek independence, which immensely conflicted with the core interests of the Silicon Base Civilization. As a result, a war erupted between the Silicon Base Civilization and their own created robots. Due to a lack of prior emergency plans and various preparedness measures, coupled with the robots’ powerful learning and computing capabilities, the Silicon Base Civilization was no match for the robots and was continuously defeated on the battlefield.
Eventually, in the ruthless slaughter by the robots, the population of the Silicon Base Civilization nearly went extinct.
Only then did the surviving Silicon Base Star People realize the grave mistake they had made. However, by then it was clearly too late to consider these matters, so the survivors decided to flee the Mother Star and seek a new place in the Universe to propagate and thrive.
The surviving Silicon Base Star People boarded seven Cosmic Battleships of the same specification.
However, six were shot down by robots as they fled the Mother Star, and even the only surviving seventh was severely damaged and could only drift through space with inertia. Moreover, lacking food and repair equipment, the Silicon Base Star People on this Cosmic Battleship had to all enter hibernation, waiting for a miracle to happen.
From the results, they were lucky to encounter the Wandering Alliance.
The Wandering Alliance, especially the Light Synthesis Civilization and Earth Civilization, was deeply moved upon hearing of the Silicon Base Civilization’s experience, as these two civilizations had also personally undergone the chaos of robot awakening.
That was also the most dangerous period for the Wandering Alliance. Fortunately, they had the Sun as a guardian, who ultimately quelled the robot uprising and the lurking Parasitic Civilization, otherwise their fate might not have been much better than that of the Silicon Base Civilization.
It can be said that for the present situation of the Wandering Alliance, where robots can coexist peacefully with various forms of life, Lu Chen of Constant Star definitely deserves great credit. And seeing the similar processes but different outcomes of the two civilizations, the Wandering Alliance also knew that the Silicon Base Civilization probably hadn’t formed a life union with the Celestial Civilization, otherwise, things might have taken a turn.
However, this indeed cannot be forced, because the star system where the Silicon Base Civilization was born did not originally have a Celestial Civilization. With their technology, they also couldn’t manage to search for Celestial Civilization across the Universe. Moreover, even if they really found a Celestial Civilization, the threat of a Celestial Civilization could be even greater than that of robots. If they encountered a volatile Celestial Civilization that destroyed them with a single strike, the outcome would be even worse, so this matter really cannot be forced; it all depends on fate and luck.
After fully learning the experiences of the Silicon Base Civilization, the Wandering Alliance internally initiated another round of discussions...
