Wandering Meteor
Chapter 436 - 435: Swear to Fight to the Death
CHAPTER 436: CHAPTER 435: SWEAR TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH
Two energy attacks suddenly appeared in the quiet expanse of the starry sky.
What was already extraordinary became even more so when it was realized that these two energy attacks were not aimed at the Anti-Neutron Star, but at their respective origins.
If we consider the energy attack that appeared at point A as A, and the one at point B as B, then their paths were A aiming at point B, and B aiming at point A, intersecting each other in the starry sky and subsequently striking points AB, creating visible spatial ripples.
As the spatial ripples grew more intense and expanded in size, gradually, two planets came to view.
It turns out that these two attacks had been launched by civilizations on these two planets, who detected each other at the same time and used energy attacks to shatter each other’s spatial camouflage.
Once the camouflage was removed, the full appearances of the two planets and their civilizations were finally revealed...
One of the planets had about sixty times the mass of Earth, entirely yellow in color, with a lifeless surface. This planet was Desert Sea Star, its surface completely covered by yellow deserts, which was also the main reason for its uniform yellow color. The civilization residing on Desert Sea Star called themselves the Desert Sea Civilization; they lived beneath the sands, being creatures that could freely navigate the sea of sand. For this reason, there were no signs of buildings on the surface of Desert Sea Star, making it appear lifeless. However, for the same reason, many civilizations who first encountered Desert Sea Star mistook it for a lifeless planet, and thus paid a heavy price.
The other planet was even more massive, approximately one hundred Earth masses, colored turquoise with patches of blue mixed in. Seen from the Universe, these blue areas were indeed tiny, but on the planet itself, they were vast seas. Even more prevalent than the seas, however, were the forests. The forest cover on this planet reached more than eighty percent, hence it was known as Forest Sea Star. The civilization there, naturally, was the Forest Sea Civilization, a species of forest-dwelling organisms. With the advancement of their technology, they achieved a perfect integration of technology with the forest, developing a unique culture of treetop technology. If one were to look down from the atmosphere, they would see that the trees of the Forest Sea Civilization were exceptionally tall and ancient, with countless giants exceeding five kilometers in height, upon which ecologically harmonious forest cities that seamlessly blended nature and technology were built.
If observed carefully,
These two planets seemed to be at polar opposites in color, state, inner nature, and civilization.
For instance, while Desert Sea Star was yellow and lifeless on its surface, Forest Sea Star was vibrant turquoise. Just as the Desert Sea Civilization existed beneath the sands, the Forest Sea Civilization lived above in the canopy; one dwelled on the earth, the other in the sky, a stark contrast between death and life, almost as if they were natural opposites.
This resulted in an atmosphere of hostility and opposition in the exchanges between these two civilizations.
"Desert Sea Civilization, we discovered this Anti-Neutron Star first; I advise you to leave quickly!"
"Nonsense! It was clearly our Desert Sea Civilization that discovered this Anti-Neutron Star first. Don’t confuse right and wrong, misleading others. Now we’re giving you a chance, leave quickly!"
"Hmph, Desert Sea Civilization, you sure talk big for your capabilities. With your level of technology and detection methods, how could you possibly discover the Anti-Neutron Star before us? Think about it; don’t you have any shame?"
"Ha, it seems the Forest Sea Civilization really has no shame. The Desert Sea has already reached Level 4 Civilization; do you think your mere Level 3 Civilization can compare? There’s a limit to false claiming; if you’re not careful, it could be deadly!"
"Level 4 Civilization is nothing to be proud of. Look at your smug faces. Without the assistance of Fermi Civilization’s technology, even ten thousand years wouldn’t have been enough for you to reach Level 4 Civilization. And it just so happens that our Forest Sea Civilization has also reached Level 4 Civilization; even in a comparison of technology, we wouldn’t lag behind you in the slightest!"
"Ha, you talk as if you’re so righteous; where does this confidence come from? If you’ve truly reached Level 4 Civilization, it’s only because Bose Civilization gave you technological help. Otherwise, not to mention ten thousand years, you wouldn’t achieve it even in a hundred thousand years. You wouldn’t be able to grasp unified forces and enter Level 4 Civilization. We’re all the same; why are you showing a sense of superiority here?"
...
As it turned out, these two civilizations each belonged to the Bose Alliance and the Fermi Alliance and had known each other for a long time.
They were responsible for patrolling the outer space security, and when they detected the presence of the Anti-Neutron Star, they rushed over at once and reported the situation to the Alliance headquarters. They hadn’t anticipated encountering each other, leading to the scene that previously unfolded.
Interestingly, when both the Bose Alliance and the Fermi Alliance learned that their competitors for the Anti-Neutron Star were each other, both reacted vehemently. Originally, neither side considered the Anti-Neutron Star a must-have and could abandon it if necessary. However, once they found out that their long-time rivals were also interested in the Anti-Neutron Star, the determination to win it suddenly increased, with no room for compromise.
This resembled the Cold War of last century, when the United States and Soviet Union engaged in a comprehensive arms race. Whatever one had, the other must possess, and if I cannot have it, I definitely cannot let you have it. Even if I don’t need it, lest it helps you develop a weapon that threatens me, it would be too late for regrets.
Therefore, there was absolutely no room for compromise on this matter.
Upon receiving orders from their respective Alliance headquarters, the Desert Sea Civilization and Forest Sea Civilization became fiercely confrontational, vowing to fight to the death!
For this was the age of the Universe, and since the birth of the Bose Civilization and Fermi Civilization, competition and conflict were inevitable. They had struggled through countless long eons, with frequent skirmishes and wars, but nobody could ever conquer the other. Thus, the actual situation was much more dangerous than the United States and Soviet Union during the Cold War. With such issues at stake, neither side dared take it lightly; they had to commit their full efforts.
"Since you refuse to leave, then let war decide who belongs to!"
After failed attempts at communication, the Forest Sea Civilization, aligned with the Bose Alliance, launched an attack first.
With a resounding "Boom," a thirty-thousand-kilometer-wide energy weapon erupted toward the Desert Sea Civilization.
It was the Unified Bose Cannon they had obtained with the aid of the Bose Civilization upon entering Level 4 Civilization, and it was currently their most powerful weapon. Since they had only recently ascended to Level 4 Civilization, and due to the Technology Agreement they signed upon joining the Alliance, they were still unable to delve deeper into the application of the unified force.
