CHAPTER 524: CHAPTER 523: THE DESPAIR FACTION AMONG SCIENTISTS

Among the starry skies.

Three civilizations stood in standoff from afar.

The Krypton Gold Civilization asserted with overwhelming dominance: "Since we have taken the matter into our own hands, it’s not up to them to refuse. Whether willing or unwilling, they must stop the swelling wave reflux!"

"It seems you are prepared for war!"

The Antimatter Civilization immediately understood Krypton Gold Civilization’s intentions.

The reason why the Krypton Gold Civilization deployed the argon star and so many Krypton Gold Battle Stars was precisely because they were ready to use force to coerce Entropy Civilization into stopping the wave reflux, should negotiations fail.

"Actually, it’s not that we don’t want to stop it, but that we are also powerless to do so!"

Despite the somewhat hostile gazes from both the Antimatter Civilization and Krypton Gold Civilization, the Entropy Civilization, unafraid, still explained: "Once the wave reflux is initiated, it cannot be stopped. Therefore, when you ask us to cease this action, it’s truly beyond the capabilities of our Entropy Civilization."

"How is that possible? The wave reflux is a weapon developed by you; how can you not control it? If the entire Universe were really affected by the wave reflux, Entropy Civilization wouldn’t be able to escape the calamity either. Don’t tell me Entropy Civilization didn’t leave any means of retreat for itself?"

"Why should there be a means of retreat?"

The Entropy Civilization said: "Ultimately, the Universe will be destroyed by entropy increase; everyone is inescapable. We are just hastening the process!"

"According to the laws of the Universe, it is true that it will eventually enter a state of maximum entropy increase and the big freeze, but as civilizations, we are not necessarily doomed." The Antimatter Civilization retorted.

"That’s right; we can seek ways to escape this Universe!" echoed the Krypton Gold Civilization.

"Then go seek it, why bother us over such a trifle?" the Entropy Civilization said.

"This is a trifle?" the Krypton Gold Civilization exclaimed angrily. "You have sped up the process of the Universe’s destruction; how much developmental time has been cut short? You must understand that we have always been searching for the specific method, but that requires time. At first, we thought Entropy Civilization was just causing minor trouble, merely to control the speed of the Universe’s entropy increase, so we didn’t take much notice. But we never expected you to be crazy enough to accelerate the Universe’s destruction process, which equates to depriving us of our development time. Today, you must stop the wave reflux at all costs!"

"Ha ha, Krypton Gold Civilization, aren’t you being too real? When you thought we were controlling the Universal entropy increase, which extended your development time, you chose not to interfere, but now that you see something is amiss, you decide to act. In the end, isn’t it just because you feel that we have harmed your interests?" the Entropy Civilization mocked.

"Every civilization centers on its own interests; there’s nothing wrong with that." stated the Antimatter Civilization.

The Entropy Civilization continued nonchalantly: "To tell you the truth, initially we did want to control the entropy increase of the Universe, and hence we created the Entropy Beast. But after a while, we realized that the Universe’s rate of entropy increase had not significantly diminished, and so we understood that the laws of the Universe are not something human forces can change."

Entropy Civilization added: "Here, we of the Entropy Civilization also advise you to stop dreaming. Born of this Universe, it is impossible to escape it; even if you had more time, you would not be able to find a non-existent method. If you consider from a different angle, this Universe is like a massive prison, incarcerating all of our civilizations from birth to destruction, never able to break free from this Universe."

"This is our fate!"

"At the beginning, we thought your civilization was normal; we didn’t expect you all to be madmen, choosing destruction simply because you couldn’t find a way out?" the Antimatter Civilization expressed somewhat fearfully.

Entropy Civilization said: "Don’t be too proud of yourselves. Our scientific research is no less extensive than any of your civilizations’, and I believe when you reach our point, you will have the same notion. This Universe is beyond saving. Our struggling survival is meaningless; the Universe might as well just be destroyed!"

At this moment, the Entropy Civilization seemed like the faction of despairing scientists.

These scientists devoted their lives to science, only to find they could not truly unravel the mysteries of truths, some even realizing science and theology had no fundamental differences. Hence these scientists would start to waver internally and ultimately choose to give up the path of science or commit suicide.

"It’s terrifying, your entire civilization has entered a state of collective madness, yet you still think you’re rational." Krypton Gold Civilization exclaimed incredulously.

After a moment of silence, the Antimatter Civilization said: "Krypton Gold Civilization, I find the Entropy Civilization’s situation a bit strange. No matter what, they are a tier-five civilization; how could they give up hope so easily? Perhaps they saw both of our civilizations come together against the wave reflux, thinking they didn’t have the military power to face two tier-five civilizations, so they just went along with the flow, pretending to be crazy to send us away. When someone pretends to be mad to just the right degree, teetering on the edge between sanity and insanity, it becomes difficult for normal people to discern: Are they truly mad, or are they faking it? Maybe, they have the means to control the wave reflux but don’t want to share it, keeping it back as a last resort for themselves."

"You have a point, and we absolutely must further ascertain the truth of the matter!" the Krypton Gold Civilization stated.

Immediately, the Antimatter Civilization transmitted a message to the Entropy Civilization: "Entropy Civilization, there’s no need to feign lunacy with us; hand over the wave reflux control technology promptly!"

Initially, the Antimatter Civilization only wanted Entropy Civilization to stop the wave reflux, but with the emergence of the Krypton Gold Civilization and sharing the same stance, the Antimatter Civilization took the opportunity to make a more audacious demand: to seize the control technology of the wave reflux, and even to master the method of its deployment.

Whether it is people or civilizations, greed grows and desires inflate.

The Entropy Civilization responded with a hint of mockery: "Since you prefer to believe in your own conjectures, then we are happy to share with you all the techniques of the wave reflux, and even take you to the edge of the wave reflux to test it out. If you do find a way to stop the wave reflux, then you are truly remarkable, and leaving this Universe is simply a matter of time!"

"Cut the idle chatter; let’s head towards the contracting boundary of the wave reflux!" declared the Antimatter Civilization.

At once, the three civilizations confirmed a mutual coordinate location and thereafter, the Antimatter Civilization used the Jump Engine, transferring all three civilizations to the contracting boundary of the wave reflux.

During the transmission, both the Antimatter Civilization and Krypton Gold Civilization received the technical principles behind the wave reflux from the Entropy Civilization. After studying it, the two civilizations were shocked to discover they couldn’t utilize the wave reflux at all...
