Wandering Meteor
Chapter 541 - 540: The History of Civilization
CHAPTER 541: CHAPTER 540: THE HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION
The Wandering Alliance was feeling very frustrated and powerless.
Originally, the Wandering Alliance thought that the Degenerate Civilization had helped them in secret, at least stood on their side, but it turned out that the Degenerate Civilization was more of an observer, with a relatively neutral stance.
This is no wonder why the Degenerate Civilization watched as the asteroid Lu Chen swallowed the binary Small Constant Star.
From the perspective of an observer, what is needed is observation, the observation of how things perform in natural evolution.
The natural evolution mentioned here refers to evolution in a macro sense. Anything that exists in the Universe is constantly changing, though not through biological genetic or cellular mutations. However, the overall environment’s impact on the entirety of life is akin to water droplets piercing through stone, ultimately leading to natural evolution both on a genetic level and a holistic level.
The thinking, behavior, and habits of life are also a part of macro evolution.
However, returning to the current situation, the choice of the Degenerate Civilization was not wrong. As the threat of cosmic destruction gradually loomed and when each civilization could not survive on its own, what was indeed needed was mutual cooperation between civilizations.
However, the Wandering Alliance held a different opinion. Although cooperation between civilizations is the general trend, the details and methods of cooperation are full of variables and unknowns. To ensure their own survival and interests, after internal consultation, the Wandering Alliance decided they could not let themselves be too passive.
Thus, when the Black Hole Civilization inquired about the life form of the Degenerate Civilization, the Wandering Alliance took the initiative to express their opinion.
"Our side believes that what the Degenerate Civilization said is correct. Based on the current understanding of the Cosmic Cycle Theory, cooperation is indeed the general trend. Since this is the case, we should be honest with each other, sharing the basic situation of our respective civilizations to establish a solid foundation for cooperation. Previously, our Wandering Alliance has shared our history and origins, and now it is your turn to show sincerity!"
Although the history and origins of the Wandering Alliance were shared by the Degenerate Civilization, it was still sharing.
And since several civilizations present already knew the basic information of the Wandering Alliance, there was no turning back. The Wandering Alliance simply used cooperation as a pretext to also obtain the basic information of the Antimatter Civilization, Black Hole Civilization, and Degenerate Civilization, just in case.
The suggestion made by the Wandering Alliance received the approval of the Degenerate Civilization.
The Degenerate Civilization stated that in order to establish a good foundation for cooperation, they were willing to share their basic information, but the Antimatter Civilization and Black Hole Civilization must also share their own basic information.
At first, the Antimatter Civilization and Black Hole Civilization were hesitant, but after repeated persuasion by the Degenerate Civilization and Wandering Alliance, these two civilizations ultimately recognized the greater good and agreed to share their basic information with each other, deepening mutual understanding.
After the mutual sharing among civilizations, the Wandering Alliance finally learned about the origins and history of the three five-level civilizations present.
Among them, Degenerate Civilizations are inherently a form of particle life, different from both biological life and Celestial Civilizations. They lack the complex variability of biological life and do not have the massive scale of Celestial Civilizations, but they are situated in between those two.
They possess some characteristics of both.
For instance, like Celestial Civilizations, they control particles with intention, and yet they are more compact than biological life, even more so than biological entities.
Thus, the particle life form of Degenerate Civilizations exhibits traits of both biological and celestial life. This phenomenon has come to be known as the dual celestial-biological nature of life, a concept derived from the idea of wave-particle duality.
The very special dual celestial-biological nature of Degenerate Civilizations is mainly due to their birth history. Their civilization’s original life sprang into existence soon after the Big Bang, when the Universe further cooled, the Four Basic Forces gradually differentiated to form the internal structure of matter. To balance and stabilize these forces, the degeneracy pressure naturally emerged in the process of particle energy forming matter. However, due to the intense friction and rebound among these forces as they first appeared, some special particles developed intention, and these particle life forms with a small amount of intention are the original ancestors of the Degenerate Civilization.
Later, as the degeneracy pressure and the basic forces reached a balance in their struggle, the particle life form started to stabilize.
Thus, the history of Degenerate life is extremely ancient; they should be one of the earliest life forms in the Universe. Of course, these early life forms did not form a sizable civilization; the Degenerate Civilization underwent a very long natural evolution before finally forming a civilization.
In contrast, the Black Hole Civilization transformed its life form into a primitive intention cluster through technological means.
The histories of the two also present an opposing symmetry; Degenerate Civilizations are among the ancient ones, while the Black Hole Civilization is one of the relatively young ones among fifth-level civilizations.
Speaking of the history before the Black Hole Civilization.
Originally, the Black Hole Civilization was not known as such; they, like other biological civilizations, emerged on a planet named Black Rock Star, and Black Rock Civilization was its former name.
The Black Rock Star, home to the Black Rock Civilization, is situated in a stable star system. After a lengthy period of development, the Black Rock Civilization achieved the status of a First-level Civilization, began to explore the star system and deep space, and later progressed to second and third-level civilizations. During this process, the Black Rock Civilization did not encounter any Alien Civilizations, nor did it experience many large-scale wars on its native Black Rock Star, at least not nearly as many as the wars on ancient Earth. Thus, the Black Rock Civilization is a fortunate one.
The luck of the Black Rock Civilization is further evident in that when the life of the central star of the Black Rock Star System came to an end and transformed into a Small Constant Star Black Hole, the scientific community of the Black Rock Civilization also successfully researched the fundamental differences between celestial life and biological life. They also developed the technology and apparatus needed to effect this transformation. After internal consultations, the Black Rock Civilization decided to transform the entire biological civilization into a Celestial Civilization, completing a unique evolution. Generally speaking, such significant changes require extreme caution and many small-scale trials, but the Black Rock Civilization, due to all its smoothly progressing developments, grown accustomed to a mindset of smooth sailing. They believed that anything they set out to do would surely succeed, so they didn’t overthink and passed the decision to transform the biological civilization into a Celestial Civilization with an overwhelming majority of votes. The end result also proved their luck; they accomplished the civilization-wide transformation with minimal sacrifices, as all individuals’ original intention coalesced within the Black Hole, forming a special Celestial Civilization.
At this point, the Black Rock Civilization was renamed as the Black Hole Civilization, signifying a new journey on a new level.
After becoming a Black Hole Civilization, their luck continued. As they entered the microcosmic world, the worldview of the Black Hole Civilization was greatly expanded and deepened, which accelerated the scientific advancement of the Black Hole Civilization, allowing it to quickly jump from a third-level to a fifth-level civilization.
Facing the Cosmic Crisis, the collective Black Hole Civilization, having spent an extended period within the Black Hole, naturally had a deeper understanding and research on Black Holes than any other civilization—deeper even than the Wandering Alliance. This is why the Black Hole Civilization became the first fifth-level civilization to explore the Cosmic Cycle Theory.
From a historical perspective, the luck of the Black Hole Civilization has been exceptional; they are truly the darlings of the gods!
