CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21 LONG TIME NO SEE, GU YAN

Tang Yuxiu silently drove the car, suddenly catching a glimpse of Gu Yan walking with her head down by the roadside from the corner of his eye.

His eyes flickered, and he carelessly steered the car to the side of the street, but showed no intention of stopping. Instead, he sped up the accelerator, driving quickly past her!

Gu Yan, "..."

Having just hung up the phone, Gu Yan was already in a low mood, and was listlessly putting her phone away. Unexpectedly, a car sped past her, and there happened to be a puddle by the road. The car’s wheels splashed the water all over her!

"Ah!" Gu Yan screamed, anger rising from her heart, and she immediately pointed at the black Bugatti, cursing angrily, "Do you have eyes?! Can you even drive?! Didn’t you see someone by the roadside, driving deliberately into a puddle? If you can’t drive, practice more at home before coming out!"

However, the Bugatti’s driver seemed not to hear her angry curses. Tang Yuxiu saw Gu Yan jumping angrily by the roadside through the rearview mirror, the corner of his lips slightly lifting, like a cold-blooded vampire suddenly becoming bewitching and even more charming.

Tang Yuxiu leisurely slowed the car down a bit, but still drove quickly forward, soon disappearing at the end of the street.

Gu Yan gritted her teeth, "What an uncultured jerk!"

Really, why have I been bumping into annoying people these past few days? Meeting Tang Yuxiu today was truly a tragedy!

She probably would never know that the one who just splashed her was the very jinx she complained about.

Looking at her own sorry state, Gu Yan took a deep breath, feeling completely out of spirits.

Recently, it really hasn’t been a good time to go out.

A black Land Rover parked by the roadside, but Gu Yan didn’t notice and continued to walk forward.

A man got out of the car, his eyes fixed on her, seeming to be trying to recognize her.

"Gu Yan?" the man tentatively called out.

Gu Yan heard someone calling her name in a daze, and looked up in confusion.

The man beside the Land Rover was in a well-tailored suit, looking distinguished. The streetlight cast a shadow on him, blurring his face, but Gu Yan recognized him at a glance.

"Senior Qin!" Gu Yan exclaimed in surprise.

"It’s really you." Qin Junnan smiled slightly, closing the car door as he strode over to her.

The closer he got, the clearer she saw his features.

Compared to five years ago, when his face was more tender, his features now were more defined and handsome, with distinguished, mature calmness in every movement.

"Long time no see, Gu Yan." He stood in front of her, his gaze carrying that kind of long-lost gentleness.

"Long time no see." Gu Yan mumbled, still taking a moment to react.

Qin Junnan looked at her dazed expression, his smile deepening, "Still as slow to react as ever."

In his tone, there was a hint of nostalgia.

His words snapped Gu Yan back to reality, and she blushed with embarrassment, lowering her head sheepishly.

"Why do you remember things from the past so clearly?" she muttered softly.

Qin Junnan caught every word, and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Hearing his laughter, Gu Yan’s face turned even redder.

"Stop laughing." Gu Yan couldn’t help but interrupt him, but regretted it as soon as she spoke.

Qin Junnan went along with her, "Alright, alright, I won’t laugh." He shifted the topic, "Why are you still out on the street so late? Where do you live? I’ll take you back?"

"Ah?" Gu Yan quickly shook her head, "No need, I’m just taking a walk, I’ll be home soon."

"That’s not okay. We haven’t seen each other for a long time, and ran into each other by accident today. I must personally take you home."
