CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: CAN’T QIN JUNNAN SUPPORT YOU?

Loitering outside until work time, Gu Yan finally went to the apartment.

Tang Yuxiu was sitting earnestly on the sofa, watching the dull and boring news.

Gu Yan curled her lips. This person was always showing just how boring and rigid he was.

Hearing a noise at the door, Tang Yuxiu glanced at her indifferently, the corners of his mouth curling into a contemptuous smile, "Done with the date?"

Gu Yan walked in after changing her shoes, "What date?"

"The crown prince of the Qin Family, a bona fide golden bachelor."

"You mean senior?"

Tang Yuxiu snorted coldly, "You know it yourself."

Gu Yan put down her bag, looking at Tang Yuxiu strangely, "Big boss, why do you always talk so sarcastically?"

Tang Yuxiu glared at her, "You’re overthinking."

Gu Yan looked completely baffled.

"I really don’t get it. Since you’re so connected with Qin Junnan, why come to work for me as help, and for those two thousand bucks of wages, no less."

Gu Yan was even more confused, "What does my job here have to do with senior?"

"Can’t Qin Junnan support you? You actually need to come out to work!" Tang Yuxiu laid it all bare, feeling even more contempt for this woman’s pretenses.

"Why would he support me?" Gu Yan was speechless, "What the hell do you mean? Could you be clearer?"

"Haven’t I been clear enough? You’re with Qin Junnan, his family is wealthy and powerful, fitting for you to lead a prosperous life without worries, so why work?"

"Him having money is his business, what’s it got to do with me!" Gu Yan countered and suddenly thought of a possibility, widening her eyes at Tang Yuxiu, "You don’t think I’m dating senior, do you?"

Hearing that, Tang Yuxiu gave her an exaggerated scornful glance, as if to say, not just dating, but clearly some sort of shady relationship.

Gu Yan’s anger flared up, "Tang Yuxiu!"

It was the first time she earnestly called his name, yet it was when she was utterly furious.

"What’s wrong, angered because I guessed right?"

"Do you think everyone has filthy thoughts like you! Senior and I are merely schoolmates; you slandering me is one thing, don’t insult senior."

"Protecting him so fiercely, you must be really into him."

"Why the hell should I protect you instead of him? And you’re completely full of it!"

"You know clear as day what’s really going on, why need me to spell it out?"

For some reason, seeing her defend and explain for Qin Junnan made Tang Yuxiu feel a random irritation, compelling him to provoke her more.

"Yeah, I know in my heart, so you can think whatever you want. The innocent remain innocent." Gu Yan, angrily rational, remained even clearer.

"Ha." Tang Yuxiu let out a mocking laugh, "You really aren’t a simple woman."

Being ambiguous with Qin Junnan on one hand, while finding ways to approach him, seduce him, really not missing chances for either side.

Gu Yan pretended not to notice his sarcasm. No matter how he thought, it wouldn’t hurt her one bit.

She casually tossed her bag aside, intending to start working, but Tang Yuxiu spoke up sternly, "Get your bag sorted out properly!"

Gu Yan defiantly refused, "No!"

"If you don’t tidy it up, I’ll throw it away for you!"

"You!" Gu Yan glared at him viciously, unwilling but still went back to arrange her bag, enduring it since she got an advance on her salary today.

Tang Yuxiu snorted again, eyes on the TV, but seemingly unable to take any of it in.
